The restaurant is beautifully situated on a canal in Strasbourg's old town. Chateau.

13/01/2026: Disappointing and far from authentic
Having spent a lot of time in Spanish tapas bars in Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg and Germany, my visit to Tapas Café Strasbourg was a real let-down.
The sangria tasted industrial, closer to boxed wine than something freshly prepared. As for the chipirones, they did not taste fresh at all — the texture and flavor strongly suggested canned or pre-packed seafood, not something cooked à la minute. This is simply unacceptable for a place presenting itself as a tapas bar.
Overall, the food lacked freshness, authenticity and craftsmanship. What you get feels generic and mass-produced rather than rooted in Spanish culinary tradition. Service was fine, but that alone cannot compensate for the weak quality of the food.
Atmosphere may work for a quick drink, but if you’re looking for real tapas, this isn’t it.

16/12/2025: A small, unassuming restaurant that's a real treat inside. The friendly, smiling waitress runs the show, and the chef prepares delicious daily specials. A perfect spot for weekday lunches. A starter and main course for €13.50 – highly recommended!

20/02/2026: Extremely dated Indian restaurant near the campsite. It hasn't been updated in 30 years. The curtains also create a depressing atmosphere. Poor value for money. The husband tries his best to be friendly while his wife works herself to death in a small kitchen.

28/03/2026: I gave it one star because I can't give less!!! Avoid at all costs... the tables are disgusting and overflowing with trash, just like the bins... we have to clear it ourselves if we want to eat at a corner of the table... And the waffle was raw :/ .. I went to see the young woman who clearly told me to go somewhere else... a disgrace considering the price of the waffle...!! I will never go back, that's for sure, and I will tell everyone I know so they don't have to eat in such a filthy place... a stomach ache and an encounter with incompetent people.
Good luck to those who try it next time.

Today (January 28, 2026 at 12:48 PM) I was putting my things down to sit down and then order some waffles. Before I could do anything, the woman with long red hair started speaking rudely to me, saying I couldn't sit down if I didn't order, which makes sense, but I didn't even have time to sit down or go to the register and order. She is extremely rude and unhappy in her job. I advise you to look for employees with more respect and motivation. I am also a student, I do pretty much the same job, and I never disrespect customers, even if I haven't had a good day.

The grilled fish is very good, but this time it was far too expensive for the quantity (€30) and the wait was much longer than initially advertised.
I'm disappointed because the first time the portion was quite reasonable and the wait was as promised.
01/06/2026: I'm truly sorry, and yet I love the restaurant; I go there twice a month as a cross-border worker. But I'm disappointed that we can't pay by card. The second-to-last time, I was alone and had enjoyed my meal. When it came time to pay with my bank card, it was impossible; I had the cash. Last week, I was with my family and friends, and I asked the waitress if we could pay by card. She said no problem, but when it came time to pay, she said it was impossible. We had to pool our money to pay, and as a result, we were forced to return to Germany because we didn't have enough money.

24/04/2026: The staff isn't very welcoming. A simple smile wouldn't hurt. The price paid doesn't match expectations. Even putting sauce on the noodles is a chore for them.
14/03/2026: I went to try this little Asian place… how to put it… it was almost a scientific experiment. They managed to prove that a chicken can be simultaneously dry, sad, and yearning for water. Frankly, I didn't even know that was physically possible. The service? Let's just say the woman at the counter looked at me as if I'd just announced I was going to live there. Not a smile, not a word out of place: maximum efficiency in coldness. As for the chicken, it must have been from a time when dinosaurs still existed. So dry that I considered asking for a glass of water… for it.
In short, an interesting experience, but I think this will be my first and last exploratory mission in this place.

03/07/2025: A terrace that's a victim of its own success and its location in the heart of the tourist city. Always full (a testament to its quality), you don't have to wait long for a table to become available. The drinks menu is varied, and the appetizer platter is just right in terms of quantity but superior in terms of quality. A great place to stop for a break during your city tour.
20/06/2025: Beautifully situated in the shade under the trees. The tarte flambée is delicious and reasonably priced.
