12/08/2026: What a wonderful discovery in Strasbourg! We had an absolutely delightful time at this restaurant. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The dishes were presented with great care and technical skill. I particularly appreciated the precise cooking of the meat and the elegant presentation, especially the delicate touch of chervil on the side dish. Every bite was a true delight for the taste buds. The atmosphere is warm and the setting very pleasant. We will gladly return on our next visit to the neighborhood. A must-try for food lovers.

15/08/2026: Honestly, this place deserves more attention. The chicken is seriously good.. crispy, juicy, well-seasoned, and actually tastes fresh! The kind of food where you finish eating and already want it again. Easily one of my favourite fast food spots in Strasbourg.

27/07/2026: We had an absolutely exceptional culinary experience (July 19, 2026). Each dish was a true journey, with unique, perfectly balanced, and exquisitely refined flavors. The quality of the ingredients, as well as the expertise and passion of Chef René (who runs the kitchen single-handedly), were immediately apparent. Jessica's welcome was warm, the service attentive, and the ambiance refined, making the experience even more enjoyable. Without hesitation, this is the best restaurant we have discovered to date. Umami is a must-visit, one we wholeheartedly recommend and where we will return with the greatest pleasure. Bravo and thank you to Jessica and René for this magnificent experience.

07/07/2026: A discovery of exquisite flavors, dishes as beautiful as they are delicious, a few hours of escape between France and Japan! The non-alcoholic beverage pairings are surprising and original. Flawless from start to finish. We would have liked to see the chef, however, which is generally customary in this style of restaurant, and even more so in a Michelin-starred establishment! A minor oversight easily rectified in this small, cozy, and welcoming restaurant with only 16 seats.

21/07/2026: A truly wonderful experience on the small terrace in front of the restaurant. Impeccable service and attention to detail after booking for five people. We indulged in the cordon bleu and a Waedele (a type of fried pastry), and it was simply incredible in both quality and quantity—absolutely top-notch. So why four stars? A slight disappointment with the desserts: profiteroles where the ice cream was twice the size of the choux pastry, and a chocolate fondant that wasn't very gooey. The price is a bit high (over €50 per person, but it's Strasbourg), with, for example, a €2 supplement for cream sauce. It's a beautiful, well-located, and high-quality restaurant with a decor that transports you to another era.

12/08/2026: A wonderful discovery in the heart of Strasbourg. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and we had a delightful time enjoying delicious food. Each dish is a true visual and gustatory triumph. We particularly appreciated the perfectly cooked meat, served on a wooden board, which was wonderfully tender and generously portioned. The presentation is exquisite, as evidenced by the small dots of dark sauce precisely placed on the plates. We will gladly return to try the rest of the menu.

11/08/2026: The meats were excellent. It's a shame there was no air conditioning, and please specify the ingredients of the original sauces next time, as the blueberry sauce contained fennel, so I had to pay extra for a different one. Otherwise, the service was top-notch.

24/08/2026: To conclude our three-day visit to Strasbourg, we chose this fantastic restaurant, and what a hit it was! It is a small and incredibly cozy place, located on a super charming street. Everything was perfect right from the moment we arrived: the friendly owner and the incredibly attentive and hospitable waitress served us excellently all evening. After the aperitif, we chose the fresh tuna from the specials as a starter and — due to a small language mistake of my own — the beetroot carpaccio. Both were surprising and incredibly delicious! Naturally, accompanied by a fine French wine. For the main course, we both went for the steak with peppercorn sauce. It was truly outstanding, served with extremely tasty, crispy homemade fries. You can tell: this was without a doubt the big winner of our three-day culinary visit to Strasbourg. Definitely a must-visit if you are in the city (but absolutely make sure to book in advance)!

18/08/2026: Le Petit Tonnelier is an excellent restaurant in Strasbourg! We had a wonderful time. The dishes were delicious, prepared with high-quality ingredients and great care. A big thank you also for the impeccable service. The owner is particularly friendly and welcoming, and takes the time to chat with his customers, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely return!

16/08/2026: It took me a while to write this review. I left disappointed, as did my family. Disappointed by the overly fast service; it felt like we were in a school cafeteria—quick, quick… it was Saturday night, first seating, and everything was rushed through in 1 hour and 15 minutes. The food was even more disappointing. All the dishes were bland, lacking depth and flavor. The value for money is poor. A bland burger, eaten in four bites for €29, is something we expect better. Do I recommend it? The answer is no. Will I go back? The answer is no. The place is the spectacle, but not the food. It's a shame because they are capable of doing better and pleasing their customers. They could do better!

23/07/2026: A truly exceptional dinner, the cuisine was rich in flavor and creativity. We tasted the lamb meatballs with pepper ketchup, the duck breast, the red mullet, and the profiteroles with cabbage... you must check out the menu and try it for yourself. An excellent evening, no waiting, and truly, the combinations of flavors were delicate and balanced! Just one small point: the Spritz, also delicious, was a bit small. Finally, it's a shame the neighborhood has lost some of its charm, but that's another story. In any case, we will be back. Thank you and congratulations to the chef!
