24/07/2026: Le Roy Théodore is a family-run establishment where the welcome is as warm as Corsican hospitality. Not to mention the cuisine, which is of exceptional quality. The owners are incredibly kind and attentive. A wonderful experience to be had in Sartène.

22/07/2026: A fantastic experience from the moment we arrived until the complimentary drink. We had two Corsican menus and two express menus, and all the dishes were truly delicious and generously served. Honestly, it was a real treat!

02/10/2026: A splendid setting, but a mixed experience Rating: 3/5 A truly magnificent location with a superb view of the small harbor, ideal for spending a pleasant moment by the water. On the food front, the cuisine is good and decent, but it remains quite classic and unsurprising for the price ("nothing extraordinary"). The downside is the service, which is rather average and lacks a bit of warmth or attentiveness. Perhaps they were just tired at the end of the season? It's a shame, because with more dynamic service and a touch of originality in the dishes, this place would be a must-try. It's best to try it during peak season to compare.

04/10/2026: Charming spot tucked in a narrow street. When we came here there was no free spots, but the waiter (didn't speak English but we made it work!) said to come back in 15 minutes and he should have something for us. We went for a stroll, came back, waited 5 more minutes and got a table. Food was very good, the staff was attentive and nice. Just remember that it seems to be a bit of a "hotspot" in the city, and even when you're off-season it might be good to make a reservation.

03/10/2026: A very pleasant evening at this restaurant. A charming little terrace in a Sartène alley, a warm welcome, and a generous and delicious meal. Excellent Corsican dishes… the lasagna with panzetta, the Sartène platter, for example.

23/09/2026: The best pasta we’ve had (& we’ve been in Italy). I ordered the lasagna which was a bit rouge from me but it was so hearty and exactly what I need - had a food coma just trying to finish it all. My friend had the pistachio & pesto pasta with burrata, which she loved. She also ordered a white wine which we both had - delicious!! Altimeters lovely, staff equally efficient. 10/10 would recommend coming back again

20/09/2026: We had lunch on the terrace; the welcome was very warm, and the Corsican meal was generous and delicious. The setting is lovely.

19/09/2026: Returning to this restaurant with pleasure, I was disappointed with the main course. Veal with very little pasta and a watered-down, tasteless sauce. The starter, zucchini fritters, was a real treat. Dessert, a small portion of fiadone. Overall, quite disappointed for a €32 menu.

29/08/2026: Unfortunately, a classic tourist trap. We stopped here for a quick break and a drink during our visit to Sartène. I asked the waiter for a menu twice, and he dryly replied, "We have all the classics," without making any attempt to bring one. In the end, we simply ordered an espresso and an orange juice, since we didn't know what else was considered a "classic." The espresso arrived unceremoniously, without a coffee spoon, sugar, or anything else. Just a sad little cup with a rather poor-quality espresso. The orange juice was bitter, tasteless, and consisted of more ice cubes than juice. The highlight was the same waiter's expectant look when we paid, as he seemed to be hoping for a tip. Thanks to the orange juice (which, by the way, cost a whopping €5), I spent the rest of the evening on the toilet. I can only advise you to steer clear of this place. Better to just drink the water you brought with you, for the sake of your stomach.

24/08/2026: Fantastic! A magnificent setting, very calm, very authentic. Everything was good, from the fish to the meats, I tasted the dishes of all the members of my family (and we were a large table so I was able to try almost the entire menu) and everything was of high quality!

21/09/2026: The restaurant has a very pleasant setting; however, the servers weren't particularly attentive, and the food, while good, was nothing special. I ordered the tuna steak, which was slightly overcooked and therefore a bit dry. My partner's Corsican burger was also a bit dry, lacking sauce, and served with frozen fries—a shame.

10/09/2026: The restaurant is nice, the setting is very pleasant with its shaded terrace… The food is good, plentiful, and tasty… the service is not very coordinated, the wait is very long, which is a shame because there are 3 servers, but only 1 is organized… I know it's not easy to find competent staff… We will come back and we still recommend it

01/09/2026: A campsite in the heart of a family estate, surrounded by scrubland. A simple, undeveloped site with around twenty very quiet pitches. Charming and clean sanitary facilities. A very friendly and helpful welcome. The highlight is the magnificent infinity pool with mountain views in a beautiful, well-maintained, and verdant setting.

13/10/2026: A delightful moment, a little step back in time… a pleasant surprise. Marie Dominique is incredibly kind and welcoming. If you come to Sartène, don't miss this wonderful place. Oh, and by the way, the products she sells are just as wonderful.

24/05/2026: An authentic Corsican establishment. A fantastic welcome. An amazing restaurant. A very local sheepfold with a lovely little private pool (thank you for setting the heat pump to 30 degrees for us 😉). We'll be back.

20/05/2026: This is a review about the restaurant. Avoid. If you don't like the food, don't say a word, pay and leave right away! The owner started insulting me during checkout for saying the food was bland. He did ask how I liked it, but he probably knew already because I had told the waitress earlier, who was nice about it. He called me cheap for not ordering water (I ordered a beer), postured inches in front of me like he was going to punch me in the face, and waited for me in the parking lot for more insults. Anyway, food is not very flavorful and slightly lower prices than Sartene (which has bigger portions) if you're headed in that direction. Haute-ville in Bonifacio is very good, lots of homemade dishes but more expensive. This restaurant charges 3 euros for filtered water (restaurants must provide water for free by law if you order food, which every restaurant we went to does). Insults and intimidations are free. Totally unhinged. Don't stop there.

27/09/2026: You absolutely must stop at this restaurant 😊 The food is excellent, the dishes are homemade, the veal stew is perfectly slow-cooked, and the wild boar with chestnuts is a real treat. Everything is superb, and Josette and her grandson give us a wonderful welcome. Thank you for everything, and we hope you continue to delight our taste buds for many years to come.
