24/05/2026: A disappointing family holiday for a birthday: A horrible sewer smell permeated our entire stay. Our children felt like they were sleeping in a public restroom, as their heads were directly in front of the toilets where the smell was coming from. We knew about the smell before we arrived (a plumber supposedly came)... The whirlpool bath didn't work (we had left Nigloland early to use it). Not to mention the heating problems, the water leak, and the sloppy cleaning (the main areas were clean, but don't look too closely: dust, cobwebs, stains on the bed frame, mirror, and trash can...). We did receive complimentary breakfast, but when we politely and respectfully asked for more (since paying this price for a "privilege suite" when it was such a miserable stay and the promised amenities weren't there), we were told that "the whirlpool bath is an extra but not included in this suite," even though it's clearly stated on the website (screenshot as proof)!! And the smell disappeared (after we left) following the plumber's intervention: tough luck for us, basically! The disappointment also stems from this lack of consideration for customers regarding the problems encountered, and from the manager's failure to apologize (unlike the woman who greeted us), who seemed more interested in making excuses for himself. In short, we'll stay elsewhere for our next visits to the region!

16/05/2026: After a first visit, somewhat by chance, which left us with a truly wonderful memory—the quality of the food, the presentation, and also the efforts made to accommodate our multiple food intolerances—we had no choice but to return. And we were right. This first experience wasn't just a fluke; this establishment consistently delivers top-notch service. I can't wait to go back with my friends and family to introduce them to this place. A solid 5/5!

01/06/2026: The restaurant was taken over in December, and wow, what a difference! It's like night and day compared to the previous owner. The new owner is incredibly pleasant to chat with and laugh with, while still being polite—because politeness makes all the difference and opens doors to everything, to begin with. The bathroom and shower are absolutely spotless. But the real surprise is the food. The chef is simply amazing; he clearly enjoys preparing and cooking up real homemade dishes worthy of a proper roadside diner. The photos below prove it. The prices are just right, nothing to complain about, and I had a fantastic evening here. I'll definitely be back. Thank you, owner, and thank you to your chef!

10/05/2026: Our stay at La Maison de Rhodes was an enchanting interlude in the heart of Troyes during a sporting weekend getaway. Nestled in a former Templar residence, this 5-star hotel elegantly blends the authenticity of its timber framing with contemporary refinement. Our spacious room, with its exceptional bedding and generously sized bathroom, guaranteed excellent comfort. The intimate, heated outdoor pool area was a haven of relaxation for a sunny afternoon. Dinner and breakfast, prepared with local products, delighted our palates. Finally, the warm welcome and helpful advice of the staff, who even took care of our reservation at a local restaurant, truly charmed us. An exceptional address, where history and hospitality come together perfectly. We will definitely return.

18/02/2026: Magnificent setting, ideal location, friendly welcome, comfortable room. The only drawback, and a significant one at that, was the breakfast: for €32 per person, you only get a croissant, a piece of bread, and a rusk so hard you could break your teeth on it. And when I dared to ask the young woman serving if it was possible to have a second croissant, I was curtly told, "No, it's one per person! We order them according to the number of guests, and it's one per person." And of course, she didn't offer me anything else. Needless to say, as soon as I left the hotel, I stopped at the first bakery I saw. In short, as someone accustomed to five-star hotels and Relais & Châteaux properties, I felt like I was in a run-of-the-mill youth hostel! This was my second stay at the Maison de Rhodes (the first must have been in 2018 or 2019), but I don't recall such a mishap, otherwise I obviously wouldn't have come back. But now I've learned my lesson: never again!

09/02/2026: A one-night stay with a room + dinner + breakfast package was excellent. The hotel, restaurant, and room were very clean. The owner was welcoming, the home-cooked meals were just the way we like them, and the chocolate mousse was delicious.

03/05/2026: Warning: this establishment is permanently closed. We had a reservation on Saturday the 25th. Upon arrival, there was no one there. No information. It's shameful.

14/02/2026: We came to eat at the restaurant for Valentine's Day. And as we hoped, everything was perfect. The staff was pleasant, the meal exquisite, the dishes as beautiful as they were delicious, and the portions perfectly reasonable. Just like what we had already experienced with Bruno and Angélique at their second establishment. Their son Jules's restaurant is just like them: warm and refined. We will return, this time to enjoy the hotel and spa as well. See you very soon, don't change a thing... Seb and Emilie

21/05/2026: This is a restaurant I've frequented for several years and have always enjoyed. The food was good, as usual, no complaints there. However, I was quite disappointed by the pace of the service this time. We ordered an aperitif, but the main courses arrived almost immediately, without even giving us time to enjoy our drinks. After that, everything moved very quickly: frequent clearing of the table, several calls to ask if we had finished, dessert and coffee served all at once… We felt rushed throughout the meal, which made it less enjoyable. In less than an hour, aperitif, main course, dessert, and coffee were all gone. It's a shame, especially for regular customers who come to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and take their time.

10/05/2026: Food was quite Good And prices where fair. Nobody there could speak English so we had to try to speak French. Which Is Not necessarily A Bad Thing but interesting for such a touristy location

28/05/2026: For the past few years, this has been our regular stop on a route we frequently travel. A very warm welcome (try to book ahead), friendly and efficient service, and excellent value for money. The cuisine is home-style but with some good ideas. The chef always comes to the dining room to greet his customers and get their feedback, which has always been positive in our experience. The decor is fairly ordinary, and the large appetizer buffet doesn't change much, but this doesn't lower our rating. We recommend it.

21/05/2026: A friendly welcome awaited us at this small, simple restaurant, popular with locals at lunchtime. And rightly so: the quality is excellent, and the price is reasonable. The service is quick and efficient. I can happily recommend it! Reservations are recommended if possible.

02/05/2026: The bar staff are aggressive under the influence of alcohol and take many liberties under the small porch, including stealing people's belongings, smoking joints, and when you point out their aggression, the manager, who is present and aware of the situation, turns a blind eye to the staff's actions, all this right outside people's homes!
