28/02/2026: We'd been passing by for ages, and we finally made a reservation! The dining room was magnificent, the welcome very warm, and the food was excellent, made with quality ingredients. I'm deducting one star for the entrecôte with shallots; I was expecting shallots, not shallot butter, but the meat itself was very good and cooked exactly as we'd hoped. Aperitifs, starters, main courses, and desserts are all à la carte, with wine pairings... Some might say it's expensive, but you get what you pay for 😉 We'll gladly return.

12/04/2026: You feel good in this cozy, comfortable, and classy place; the food is good, the decor is in keeping with the walls and the history of this old house, and the cellars also offer superb rooms with modern decor for receptions, seminars, and other events.

04/05/2026: I came to celebrate my birthday with friends, but we were disappointed by the service, which was unfriendly and inattentive. The bottle of wine wasn't even poured, unlike what's often the case elsewhere. Several dishes were unavailable, and there was no possibility of substitution. Furthermore, the menu wasn't up-to-date. It's a shame, because overall the food is still good and the price is reasonable.

18/05/2026: A truly lovely hotel, ideally located between the charming old town of Troyes and the region's lakes. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are friendly. A full breakfast is included. The restaurant is also a very pleasant surprise: a deliberately concise menu featuring regional specialties, offering something for everyone, refined cuisine, delicious desserts, and very reasonable prices. Special mention goes to the managers who were incredibly accommodating and kind: we had car trouble on a Sunday, and despite a busy day for them due to the village market, they arranged for us to stay an extra night and have dinner at the hotel.

18/05/2026: A delicious plat du jour. A three-course menu for 20.50 euros. Baguette and water included. The service is friendly and your food is served quickly. Only a large glass of beer was quite on the pricey side, namely 9.50 for a Leffe Blond.

10/05/2026: We regularly have lunch at Le Voltaire because everything, from appetizers to desserts, is homemade, which is rare in restaurants these days. The restaurant is closed in the evenings but occasionally hosts special events. The recently hired waitress is very professional and pleasant, and the chef, who is also the owner, changes the menu daily. Definitely worth a try for a great time. See you soon!

17/05/2026: Nice dining spot by the water. A restaurant that turns into a club at midnight, a unique concept! Very friendly and efficient staff who regularly check if you need anything. Good quality food and a cozy atmosphere. Beautiful view of the water and the fountains!

10/05/2026: We returned a year ago after several years away, and again this year. The welcome was rather cold and rigid. Observation: the menu now includes numerous extras, unlike under the previous owner. The meal was average considering the price, both in terms of quantity and quality. The veal sauté could have benefited from a more generous vegetable accompaniment. The caramelized walnut crumble and pear coulis, presented as a simple decorative circle around the plate and in very limited quantity, ultimately added little to the dessert. It was essentially a basic garnish. It would undoubtedly have been more sensible to incorporate it directly into the dessert. The waitress was very friendly and smiling throughout the meal. The waiter, however, had a tense, intrusive, and unprofessional attitude: he made a questionable comment when payment by check was announced, stood over the shoulder while the check was being written without intervening (just like last year). It was only after the check was filled out that he indicated a change in the payment details. After adding the company name and confirming it himself, he reacted very inappropriately when we pointed out that it would certainly be suitable. This is surprising behavior from a waiter in an establishment of this caliber. The waiter, standing at the entrance, left without a word or a polite greeting, his gaze shifting. The waitress at the bar did, however, offer a slightly warmer welcome. For a fine-dining restaurant, this is unprecedented. We will not be returning.

24/05/2026: A disappointing family holiday for a birthday: A horrible sewer smell permeated our entire stay. Our children felt like they were sleeping in a public restroom, as their heads were directly in front of the toilets where the smell was coming from. We knew about the smell before we arrived (a plumber supposedly came)... The whirlpool bath didn't work (we had left Nigloland early to use it). Not to mention the heating problems, the water leak, and the sloppy cleaning (the main areas were clean, but don't look too closely: dust, cobwebs, stains on the bed frame, mirror, and trash can...). We did receive complimentary breakfast, but when we politely and respectfully asked for more (since paying this price for a "privilege suite" when it was such a miserable stay and the promised amenities weren't there), we were told that "the whirlpool bath is an extra but not included in this suite," even though it's clearly stated on the website (screenshot as proof)!! And the smell disappeared (after we left) following the plumber's intervention: tough luck for us, basically! The disappointment also stems from this lack of consideration for customers regarding the problems encountered, and from the manager's failure to apologize (unlike the woman who greeted us), who seemed more interested in making excuses for himself. In short, we'll stay elsewhere for our next visits to the region!
