Warm welcome, chairs a bit stiff... I ordered à la carte: everything was perfect - the sea bream of the day was a little bland but very fresh -
My partner was quite disappointed by the starter: undercooked leeks wrapped in dry seaweed!
His main course was a very fatty piece of pork loin... he was sick all night... So, for €150, a big disappointment... we were really looking forward to it!

Diane is so radiant, welcoming, and warm; she makes you feel like you're visiting friends.
And Thierry in the kitchen...what talent!
You can feel the passion, the love for their craft, and above all, the desire to please.
An excellent experience and, above all, a place I recommend without hesitation!
Bravo to you both...and please don't change a thing!

We arrived relatively early on the terrace one evening last week and were warmly welcomed. Our aperitif was served quickly, but we didn't have time to fully appreciate it because our starter arrived just three minutes later. After that, the wait was very long, a real breakdown in the service. The wait between the main course and dessert was also long. My ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, but it was far from tender!
I would therefore conclude by saying that even the most pleasant welcome is not enough to ensure an enjoyable evening at a restaurant.

12/10/2026: A truly memorable evening for our group of around forty colleagues! We concluded our seminar at Le Grand Soleil (on November 25th) and everything was absolutely perfect. A huge thank you to Eva for the preparation and organization of the event, and a massive thank you to Margaux for her warm welcome and impeccable management of the evening. The food was superb, the service flawless, and the staff all smiles. Everyone has wonderful memories of it. Bravo and thank you to the entire team – it was a truly perfect experience!

10/09/2026: Two years ago, it was already perfect… and this time again, perfect! 😊
The welcome, the food, the desserts… everything was excellent.
A small comment perhaps regarding the dessert on the children's menu: my daughter would have preferred a dessert like ours (well, a little less childish), which she found much better. Hers seemed a bit too "artificial." But of course, that depends on each child's taste! 😉
We will gladly return!

The squid is a real treat! Today, we decided to try the picoulat meatballs… what a lovely surprise, they were absolutely delicious.

31/08/2026: We visit the bar every few years and had another wonderful evening there yesterday. I can't agree with the negative reviews from the German complainers at all: the food is excellent, the view is beautiful. You do have to make a reservation, like everywhere else in France. And yes, your feet are sometimes in the wet sand because it is, after all, a beach bar. I find it refreshing and unique. Therefore, I don't understand the complaints in the reviews at all. You can always find a parking space, and dogs are welcome. The staff speaks excellent English, and some also speak German. Regarding the food: this year I was particularly surprised by the top quality. I had tuna, and the others had chicken sandwiches.

12/10/2026: During a family visit to Gruissan, we returned twice to Le Joffre because of the wonderful welcome we received! A family-run restaurant where the food is excellent. We tried the fish of the day and some salads, both with generous portions. We'll be back for Pentecost!
