08/03/2026: So. If you like Faulty Towers go here! Basic French dishes but lacking finesse and good preparation. So ….anyway I ordered black pudding and mashed potatoes. And that’s what I got! A single black pudding plonked on a pile of mash. No sauce, no vegetables or side dishes. When we politely asked for some vegetables we were told they are on the salad! He then gave a me a huge salad! It was hilarious. My wife ordered a ‘salmon croque’ which came out of the kitchen as salmon in between sliced white bread coated in cheese and baked. It was a bit basic lacklustre and arrived with a huge side of salad leaf. Owner of restaurant was more interested in drinking lots at bar with his mates rather than checking service. So overall a disappointing but hilarious show. We did check Google reviews and they appeared good? We paid €70 overall and I guess some life experiences are priceless!

04/03/2026: We had dinner with friends tonight in a warm and intimate setting. The welcome was more than perfect, and the atmosphere was simply divine! The staff is absolutely lovely, always ready with a joke, endlessly entertaining, and a beautiful musical selection that gently complements the meal. I highly recommend this place! The home-style cooking is delicious and prepared with care. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

26/04/2026: We had lunch this Sunday at Café des Arts in Sancerre and had a wonderful time. Arriving around noon, we easily got a table on the terrace, which was very pleasant. The menu includes salads, omelets, and also cheese and charcuterie boards, allowing you to discover local specialties like Crottin de Chavignol cheese. The omelet, served with a salad, was truly delicious and very generous. My partner also opted for a salad, which was equally generous and flavorful. To finish, we each enjoyed a tarte tatin: a real treat, as beautiful to look at as it was delicious to eat. The service was quick and the staff were friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the Sancerre wines, with a glass of white and a glass of red, both very good. A great place that we highly recommend in Sancerre!

08/04/2026: Future customers, BEWARE: Following a reservation made approximately one month in advance at the restaurant "Le Vieux Moulin" for 9 people, I was surprised to find the table set in front of the accessible restroom. My guest, seated at the end of the table, had to get up twice to allow access to an elderly person with a disability. I have absolutely nothing against this person, and the fact that restrooms are dedicated to them is perfectly normal. What is unacceptable is setting up a table in front of the door; we had a view of the restrooms and, unfortunately, we also had to endure the smells! I should point out that the restaurant was not full, just 3 tables with diners. There were other options besides setting up the table in front of the restroom! I expressed my dissatisfaction when paying the bill, and the restaurant's response was, "This is an exception." I find this excuse unacceptable, given that the reservation was made at least three weeks prior, the restaurant wasn't full, and the disabled person was already seated before my arrival. The restaurant manager should have moved our table and provided a safe passage for this disabled person without them having to squeeze behind my guest. Fortunately, the meal was excellent… 10/10 to the chefs, but zero to the organization!

28/03/2026: A moment suspended in time, a table to be set and re-set. The only remark: the waiter smelled of perspiration; it would be advisable to consider changing his shirt for each service.

Refined and excellent cuisine, impeccable service with Annie's genuine smile and attentive service, subtle wine pairing suggestions. We'll be back soon. 18/02/2026: I return every year to this magical castle for the pleasure of admiring its beautiful gardens, its sumptuous architecture that has evolved so beautifully over the centuries, and its stones reflected in the water. I had the pleasure of spending a few days there on my honeymoon 15 years ago. My husband worked as a guide there during his university holidays when he was younger. We will always return.

06/11/2025: A good visit and a very beautiful castle. The guided tour was very interesting, but we missed visiting some more rooms, to complete the visit. A clarification: On the internet the price of the visit is €6. I think they should change it, so as not to confuse the visitor. They charged us €10 per person. I personally think that these visits could be more complete. I see it as essential that the owners raise money to maintain and improve a heritage that without our contribution would be difficult to do. Thank you for the welcome and the explanations
