17/05/2026: I came with my father on Sunday lunchtime, May 3rd. The setting is lovely and traditional. However, from the moment we arrived, we sensed that the meal was going to be rather gloomy. Two waitresses greeted us without a smile and with a cold demeanor. My father selected the wine pairing, and the first glass was a champagne: no explanation, no name of the estate, grape variety, or any other information whatsoever, and the same was true for each of the subsequent wines, of course. EVEN WORSE, the champagne had no bubbles at all. Unfortunately, I'm a sommelier, and serving the dregs of the bottle, of course, from behind the bar, is acceptable, but not at all. I pointed this out immediately, although it took 10 minutes to get the attention of a waitress holed up behind the bar with a pedantic air, especially during a quiet service with barely 10 covers. We considered leaving, but luckily the food was delicious; a big thank you to the kitchen team. The dining room does absolutely no justice to the work done in the kitchen. Looking forward to coming back.

26/04/2026: A unique and delightful experience! After three years, we returned to this restaurant with our baby and received a very warm welcome. The waitress had set up a high chair for our daughter and was incredibly attentive to her needs. As for lunch, every dish was magnificent and bursting with flavor. In short, go there!

25/04/2026: This morning, I woke up gently at Café Morand, a charming spot with a touch of Besançon flair and a modern twist. The breakfast, simple on paper, turned out to be very pleasant: fresh baguette, warm croissant… an effective combination to start the day right. I also tried a perfectly balanced cookie, as well as a walnut macaron-style tartlet, from a generous display case and entirely homemade. A truly delightful surprise. The café offers a breakfast set menu including a hot drink, juice, a pastry, and half a fresh baguette, with a particularly attractive price-quality ratio. As for the ambiance, the decor and high ceilings, typical of Besançon buildings, create a warm and cozy atmosphere. The service reflects the character of the place: welcoming, attentive, and taking the time to connect with its customers. 26/04/2026: We chose a platter of three meats served with the option to request more. The meal was excellent and served very pleasantly.

20/04/2026: A disappointing experience due to the service; I was very disappointed. The atmosphere was completely ruined by the unpleasant and sour attitude of one of the servers, unfortunately confirming the negative feedback I had already heard about him. It's truly a shame that such a lack of professionalism tarnishes the café's image.

20/04/2026: A very unpleasant experience at this establishment. We were served by a particularly irritable waiter. Not only was the welcome frosty, but every interaction seemed to annoy him. A simple request for information about the menu was met with disdain and impatience. We clearly felt like we were bothering them, which is unacceptable in a service establishment.

03/05/2026: It's unbelievable that a place of this caliber could have such poor service and a terrible welcome! Everything is delicious—chocolates, pastries, tarts, etc.—BUT… The service is slow and mediocre, falling far short of what one would expect from such an establishment: underqualified and insufficient staff, aging and extremely unpleasant managers… even cantankerous. What a shame for such a prestigious establishment! Unheard of for this type of place.

15/02/2026: I came after class because it was the closest place to eat. There were no other customers, which didn't exactly reassure me. The service was okay, but the wait was incredibly long just for a panini. Plus, it was sunny that day, and there were tons of cans (probably the merchandise) leaning against the window, exposed to the sun, so the storage conditions weren't being met. I also noticed that the desserts, which require refrigeration, weren't in the fridges… Honestly, next time I think I'll go to Burger King; I'll get more for less, especially since I don't understand why they charge more to eat in.

15/05/2026: This hotel needs renovation!! The room smelled of old cold cigarette. It was super dark and I had to manually turn on 3 different tiny lamps to get a bit of light in the evening. The cleanliness is so so. The bathroom faucets have water marks all over.. The breakfast is really subpar. The queen size bed only has 2 tiny pillows but the bed itself was quite comfortable. The room size is a good size, and the water pressure is excellent. Parking is great. I guess you get what you pay for. Definitely not a 3* hôtel.

05/05/2026: The duck leg dish wasn't great, but thankfully the tarte tatin was very good and the service was pleasant! It would also be good to remove the large sign at the restaurant entrance advertising a €17.90 menu. This is clearly an attempt to attract customers, especially since it's a Sunday and this menu isn't available on Sundays.
