Now let's talk about the atmosphere: If it's lunchtime, she wants to be good-natured and friendly. On the other hand, in the evening it's a completely different subject, the place becomes borderline unfrequentable. Everyone smokes everywhere, in defiance of regulations and respect for non-smokers... It should also be noted that the price of consumption is not displayed, which often leaves surprises when paying the bill. For example, two identical tours billed at two different prices (especially when the numerous aniseed aperitifs ingested by the boss are starting to take effect)... The latter does not bother to emit in quantity all sorts of belchings and other sonic flatulences which suggest that we are in a stable and of which he takes great pride... Obviously the service goes hand in hand, the ice is served to you with your bare hand directly in your glass just like the water which, in the interest of saving carafes, will be served arbitrarily directly from the tap by the owner and so on. This is without taking into account the poor quality music blaring loudly that two individuals who have proclaimed themselves DJs impose on the rest of the clientele who have no other choice than to keep quiet and endure... This is what you can expect if you are imprudent enough to come and visit this establishment in the evening! It is to be regretted that this place which in the time of Olivier the former boss was so pleasant has fallen so low...

02/07/2024: Belle découverte au hasard du retour de vacances. Très bon accueil, qualité de viande exceptionnelle, bonne cuisine tout fait maison et bon rapport qualité prix, service rapide. Personnel et patrons très sympas. Je recommande à 100%. La prochaine fois, on pensera à réserver.

02/04/2024: Nous avons bien fait de réserver. Effectivement un bel accueil, souriant et efficace de la part des patrons et de tous le personnel. De très belles assiettes, travaillées et copieuses. Nous ne regrettons pas d'avoir fait le détour lors de notre départ en week-end. Merci

29/07/2024: A magnificent, calm area, where it is good to recharge your batteries. We had a great time at the restaurant: trout in all its forms, homemade fries, delicious local meat. The icing on the cake: adorable and attentive service! We will come back :)

19/08/2024: we went to the mango tree 2 years ago, the welcome was warm and we rented a bungalow with breakfast included for 3 days. we were 6 people, we came to see friends 5 minutes from the hotel. We were delighted with the stay, we had not taken our meals there. We came back this year, me and my wife, we live in Reunion and after our first stay where the manager, a Reunion Islander, had warmly welcomed us, we decided to take a room for the night with breakfast. we arrived around 8 p.m. the reception was cold as if we were disturbing. we asked if we could have dinner, the person curtly told us that it was right away because he was closing the kitchen and that we would only have one dish, either salad or a hot dish. surprised by this lack of consideration and warmth, she placed us on the terrace. We sat down and ordered a dish with fish and vegetable garnishes and a meat with vegetables. we were able to order a bottle of rosé, we helped ourselves to glasses from school canteens. The meal was mediocre and tasteless. we left the next morning still with the "same April smile on an icy lake" but on the other hand a bill of around 150 euros for services which were below that of a "roadside restaurant" experience that we will not do again in this bouiboui!! 23/08/2024: We have just moved to Bessines and we are wondering why bother going to Limoges when we have such a good restaurant 5 minutes from home! We had starter/main course/dessert. The meat was succulent, the sauces the same. The tartare was a bit too spicy but otherwise it was really great! Nothing to complain about!

14/08/2024: Unfortunately we didn't ask to sit outside. Looked like a nice terrace under vine. Lots of different flavours. Really tasty. Lovely juices and ciders. reasonable price. Fruit picking only in the morning. Shop on site

19/08/2024: De passage à Limoges sur la route des vacances, chez la Germaine fut une agréable découverte. Cuisine traditionnelle raffinée et copieuse. Doublée d'un accueille très sympathique. Je recommande chaleureusement.

23/08/2024: Accueil très agréable. Menu du jour à 15€, peu de choix et qualité relative : les entrées et la viande sont très correctes, les accompagnements et desserts font plutôt (mauvaise) cantine... Service efficace et souriant.

29/06/2024: Nowadays this is the “sports bar”. They have great coffee, ola ice creams and probably also food, we havent tried that though. The terrace is at the street, in the shade, nicely situated.

16/09/2024: ATTENTION IL Y A UN CHANGEMENT DE PROPRIÉTAIRE DU RESTAURANT !!! Nous sommes venus tester ce restaurant très connu et prisé des Limougeauds, qui a réouvert aujourd’hui, dans ce quartier historique de Limoges et nous avons été ravis de la qualité des lieux (rénovés) et de l’accueil qui nous a été réservé. Les plats et les vins qui nous ont été servis étaient excellents et nous reviendrons volontiers pour tester quelques autres plats proposés par cet établissement.

19/09/2024: This was always my favourite restaurant, I have been going there for 20 years. I went there a few weeks ago and was so disappointed, the management have changed hand and the meal was not good, in fact I should have complained but being English didn't like to. I hope this was just teething problems and it will improve, The bread was already on the table when we sat down I asked the waitress for butter and she asked why. Will not be returning. The wine was nice. I do not like giving bad reviews but this just has to be said.
