Excellent, refined cuisine, beautifully presented.
The tomato medley is succulent, while the calf's liver is wonderfully cooked (meltingly tender). The Baked Alaska is delicious.
I highly recommend it and will definitely return.

10/05/2026: We had a great lunch here after a morning of moving house. They were friendly and welcoming even though it was nearly 2pm when we arrived it was not a problem for us to eat lunch. The burgers were excellent as was my plat du jour. Also the chips were delicious!! Service was very friendly and the proprietor is delightful. We will be going back!
19/04/2026: Back to "Le Mot Passant" and it was another wonderful experience. A warm and attentive welcome immediately puts you at ease.
The atmosphere truly gives the impression of "leaving home," of escaping for the duration of a meal, which is particularly enjoyable in its unpretentious setting. As for the food, we opted for a Savoyard hamburger and an andouillette sausage: two generous, flavorful, and well-prepared dishes that reflect genuine expertise.
In short, an address we wholeheartedly recommend for a pleasant time over a delicious meal.

24/08/2026: Very poor welcome, mediocre service, unfriendly staff. We had to go get the salt ourselves from the counter (after constantly asking for everything). The ravioli gratin with morels had only one morel in it 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ and it was dry. We didn't even receive an apology. The service was so bad that we couldn't have dessert. I absolutely do not recommend this place; you'll be throwing your money away.

27/08/2026: A wonderful discovery during a stop on our way home from vacation! 😊 A fantastic restaurant with a great atmosphere, dishes that are out of the ordinary, and above all, beautifully prepared. The prices are quite reasonable, and the menu is clear and detailed, especially for the dry-aged meats.
We didn't try them as they were beyond our budget this time, but the other dishes were truly excellent! 😋 Special mention also goes to the service: a very friendly, smiling, and pleasant team, which made the meal even more enjoyable. A great place that we'll gladly keep in mind for our next stop! 👍

11/08/2026: I bought a pack of 10 cream puffs on Monday morning, which should theoretically be fresh, but they weren't. They were hard and didn't taste great. I asked the employees if they were fresh that day, and they said yes, which clearly wasn't the case. Considering the prices, it would be nice if they didn't sell products that were several days old. In any case, I won't be going back.

29/03/2026: We only had lunch at this establishment; it's not a hotel.
How can I put it, without being unpleasant, that we ate very well, however, the service didn't live up to the price.
Let me explain: no tablecloth on the table, the wine was brought to the table without a taste, and you only got one glass... There were other things, details for some, but when the menu costs €50, you expect a certain presentation.
If you're not too fussy, you'll eat very well.

19/04/2026: We wanted to have a drink on this sunny Sunday. Not a greeting from the waiter. A 10-minute wait. Two tables arrived after us and were served before us. We left and we won't be back.

01/09/2026: We celebrated a birthday last weekend. The setting is mediocre, the prices are exorbitant. We had to pay €30 for a drink (a beer, a kir, or a soft drink + a platter meant for 2-3 people...). The platters are pathetic, with very little filling. I just learned that a slice of cake cost €10 and was eaten in two spoonfuls (see photo). The service is minimal, like everything else...
22/08/2026: We had booked a table at this restaurant for dinner on August 21st, but upon arrival, we learned that the usual dining room was closed due to a lack of air conditioning. We were therefore seated in a dance hall with an unpleasant odor, at tables made from barrels. The setup was very uncomfortable and forced us to hunker down to eat properly.
For dessert, we were offered a table on the rooftop terrace. Hardly the ideal conditions to finish a meal in damp weather and 16 degrees Celsius.
To top it all off, the coffee machine was also out of order, preventing us from having coffee.
Considering the price and the level of service one expects from a restaurant, the experience was clearly disappointing. We would have appreciated more information when making the reservation. I feel this establishment is no longer living up to its former glory.

09/04/2026: A very warm welcome, the owner is down-to-earth and easygoing. I highly recommend this establishment, which opens at 5:30 am, whether you're a motorcyclist or not.
