14/02/2026: A wonderful discovery! Excellent welcome despite our late arrival. The meal was superb, very refined and beautifully presented. It deserves a Michelin star. Reasonable prices without being excessive, and the owner, who wears many hats, is incredibly friendly! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys taking the time to savor a meal rather than rushing through it. We will be back!

17/01/2026: We visited Restaurant L'Essentie last night with our good friends and neighbours Francois and Valerie to belatedly celebrate the New Year. At the end of the festive season he might think one celebration too many, but Pauline and her husband who is the chef never disappoint and served up a truly fantastic dinner to start 2026. Salmon en croute with mushrooms and Cavalo Nero cooked with incredible imagination and to finish pears poached in red wine with cream and toasted hazelnuts fantastic. Definitely the best restaurant around, if you’re looking for a quiet intimate place to enjoy master cooking we’re friends and family.

When I walked into this restaurant, I felt like I'd arrived at my grandfather's house in the heart of the Périgord region. It's an aesthetically warm place where you feel right at home, and the food—such flavorful cuisine, so perfectly executed in the finest traditions of French culinary expertise. Bravo to the chef! When you arrive at a restaurant with a limited menu, it immediately tells you that the recipes will be mastered to perfection. In short, a truly wonderful culinary and social experience. I would travel from Toulouse just to share a meal here. 🥩🍷

24/03/2026: Excellent find! A warm welcome and absolutely delicious food! The portions are generous. Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you want to try their delicious Flemish carbonnade: it's not always on the menu, so it's best to order in advance (it's a slow-cooked dish). We opted for the sirloin steak. The meat was incredibly tender. The salted caramel waffles and coconut mousse were a hit! A haven for nostalgic northerners. Or simply for food lovers ☺️

08/03/2026: A Sunday lunch without a reservation. Friendly welcome, small restaurant with about twenty seats, not many customers, a generous and very good set menu for €20. I recommend it!
