22/04/2026: I've had the pleasure of eating at La Puce à l'Oreille in Nancy several times, and it's definitely a place I recommend if you love cheese and generous portions.
The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere; you quickly feel at ease. It's not pretentious at all; on the contrary, it's warm, lively, and perfect for spending quality time with friends or family. The decor is original and gives the place a lot of character, making the experience even more enjoyable.
As for the food, it's a real treat. The dishes are hearty, beautifully presented, and above all, incredibly delicious. Everything is designed for cheese lovers: fondues, gratins, generously topped potatoes… you can really taste the generosity in every bite. It's the kind of meal that's a delight from start to finish.
The service is also excellent. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and attentive. You feel well taken care of, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant really contributes to a pleasant experience.
It's a great place in Nancy for those who enjoy generous portions in a simple and friendly atmosphere. You leave satisfied, full, and wanting to come back.

I'm extremely disappointed that the "trucker" sandwich is no longer available... so I ordered another sandwich for almost 13 euros with 3 raw vegetables... but it had red cabbage and mushrooms... the sandwich was much smaller than before... I got 3 pieces of mushroom and 2 pieces of red cabbage...

15/03/2026: Second brunch at Frères Marchand.
We came in April 2025 and had a 5-star experience.
This time, we were disappointed with the brunch on March 15, 2026, for several reasons:
- The portions were generally much smaller compared to last year.
- The savory options were no longer as varied or frequently offered.
- €8.50 for a one-liter bottle of sparkling water... That's quite expensive.
- Only three sweet options (a quarter of a very dry waffle, a caramel pancake, and a slice of blueberry tart that was only 1.5 cm wide).
- The price had increased to €36.90 (compared to €31 in 2025).
Fortunately, the cheeses and charcuterie were still of very high quality, and coffee/tea and orange juice were still unlimited.
It was still a lovely experience, but the price and the reduced selection make us hesitate to return.

It took 45 minutes just to take our drink order. I still recommend it, though.

15/05/2026: We went as a family of four to Le Bistrot de Gilles and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! The dishes were delicious, generous, and very well prepared. The service was also excellent: welcoming, attentive, and efficient from start to finish. We had a wonderful time in a pleasant atmosphere. We highly recommend this place!

11/05/2026: A very bad experience.
We arrived at 9:30 pm and the welcome was very cold, with the impression that we were bothering them. If the restaurant no longer wishes to serve at that time, it would be better to state this clearly from the start.
I also took the time to explain that I have a very severe gluten allergy/celiac disease, specifically requesting that my risotto be served without bread. Despite this, the dish arrived with bread. After pointing this out, they simply brought me the same dish without the bread, which is completely unacceptable in this type of situation.
My friend's dish, pasta, was also very disappointing: rubbery texture and practically inedible.
Finally, we had just come from the Stanley Hotel, which had told us that an aperitif was offered at this restaurant. Upon arrival, we were simply told that we needed a piece of paper, with no real desire to find a solution or to give us a proper welcome.
A very disappointing experience, both in terms of service and food, and the handling of allergies!

20/05/2026: Unfortunately, there was dirt (even a whole chunk) in the salad. I complained, but only got excuses. The onglet was also tough. They didn't charge me for the two Picon when I paid. Good, but too late.
20/05/2026: Excellent experience at L’Impromptu in the Nancy covered market. Very good food, pleasant service, and quality products. I recommend it!

The staff is truly pleasant, smiling, friendly, helpful, attentive, and respectful.
They offer a variety of pastries, cakes, sandwiches, salads, and drinks to satisfy every palate.
It's always busy, which is proof that everything is delicious!

02/04/2026: A very pleasant setting; the dining room is beautifully decorated. The dishes on the menu are good, homemade, and made with fresh, mostly local ingredients.
Example of the menu we chose that day: pulled pork with two types of purée and a four-citrus fruit fondant. Absolutely delicious!
Friendly service.
A great place to remember.
18/03/2026: In a restaurant with an unassuming exterior, we were pleasantly surprised to find a dining room with a warm, bistro-like atmosphere. We enjoyed authentic cuisine. The menu isn't extensive, but there's something for everyone; everything is fresh, flavorful, and delicate. There's also a good wine list.
The bill, including a starter, main course, dessert, two glasses of wine each, and coffee, came to €55 per person. Excellent value for money for such precise and refined cuisine.

18/03/2026: Objectively, very, very average.
We ordered the €18 set menu plus drinks, which came to €26.50. Not a problem in itself.
We received child-sized portions! Ridiculously small dishes with only four pieces of chicken. We felt like we were being punished.
The same went for the starter.
As for dessert, there was great confusion surrounding the "Indian ice cream," which advertised a wide variety of flavors, but was actually just all of them mixed together! A ridiculously small amount, clearly from some tub of unknown origin. Frankly, it wasn't good.
Other customers nearby had also understood that there were other flavors to choose from, but no!
To top it all off, the menu was a laminated sheet with damaged corners. No problem, they cut the corners to make it look "clean"! Seeing that, I should have been suspicious! Honestly, an overall bad experience. Seeing that I was annoyed, the owner served me an unsolicited coffee and an Indian liquor. A nice gesture if the experience had been good, but this was an attempt to make amends!
Summary: Restaurant far from the expected standards.
