08/06/2025: This establishment was a wonderful discovery for us, who were just passing through to explore the historic sites of Verdun. The cuisine is refined and carefully prepared. The vegetables are to die for, a welcome change from the usual fries and rice. The gourmet coffee is very delicious, and the crème brûlée is very creamy. We were warmly welcomed, and the decor is quite pleasant. I recommend this unassuming establishment, located on the roadside in the hills above Verdun. Go there with your eyes closed.

08/04/2026: Hello to all you unpretentious and friendly restaurant lovers! April is here, the sun is shining, and the sunny terrace beckons us for lunch. A few regulars and two passing motorcyclists are there, so we settle in and discover a small menu, but everything is homemade—what more could you ask for?! No set menus, no problem. The prices are more than reasonable, the waitress is friendly and efficient, the restrooms are spotless, and everyone is smiling. Life is good at Le Cheval Blanc in Ligny! Enjoy your discovery!

23/02/2026: Ten minutes from Bar-le-Duc, a very good restaurant in a pleasant setting. A minor drawback is the service, which isn't the most friendly. A shame, because the dishes are refined.

16/02/2026: Group meal with a set menu. Bottles of mineral water were left unopened in front of us, not chosen by us, yet we were charged. The starters matched the order, the main course was lukewarm risotto, and the dessert was served rather hastily. In short, if I return to the area, I'm not sure I'll choose this restaurant.

12/03/2026: What a surprise to find Polish specialties in Verdun, in what appears to be a decent fast-food place! I enjoyed some delicious cabbage and mushroom pierogi. And the chef is Polish. It was really very good. Thank you.

05/03/2026: We ordered a tartiflette panini and a tartiflette plate. The sauce and salad were pretty good, and the panini and plate were too, but we were sick for the next few days, so it's best to avoid them.

21/04/2026: Overall, a disappointing experience at Frenchy’s Diner in Bar-le-Duc. Upon arrival, we waited several minutes at the entrance without anyone greeting us, despite two waitresses seeing us. We finally had to go to the bar to ask to be seated. The atmosphere wasn't pleasant either: the owner made derogatory remarks to his kitchen staff in front of everyone, which was frankly uncomfortable. As for the meal, we weren't even asked how we wanted our hamburger steak cooked. The result: it was served "medium" by default. Given the wait, we didn't risk sending it back. The fries, meanwhile, were clearly frozen, which is a shame. Another disturbing point: a waitress took it upon herself to listen to our conversation and offer her opinion, which is unprofessional. Finally, it's incomprehensible that the terrace is closed between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM… The only positive points are the ease of parking and the decor. An experience that clearly lacks professionalism and doesn't make me want to return.

04/04/2026: A truly exceptional restaurant, the likes of which are (unfortunately) becoming increasingly rare: everything is homemade, prepared with care using as many local products and producers as possible. The portions are generous, and the service is warm and welcoming. The photos on their Facebook page speak for themselves. But rather than a long explanation, the best thing is for you to go and eat there and (re)discover the flavors of true French cuisine!

01/04/2026: I was insulted on the phone by the receptionist/manager who wouldn't let me speak to the manager even though I hadn't been able to explain my problem.
