Un bémol : service un peu rapide alors que le restaurant n’était pas plein
27/09/2024: Friendly service in a small venue with a simple menu superbly executed. We both had the chicken with Roquefort sauce and found the Roquefort well under control, complimented by potatoes Lorraine and ratatouille. We began with a country pate which included a small salad, tomatoes and fresh baguette; dessert was an apple tart with heavy whipped cream and a raspberry sauce. We tried the house wine, nice vin oridinaires by the glass, white and rose for us. Would definitely return.

16/12/2023: Une très bonne découverte sur Verdun. Même si le restaurant ne semble pas payer de mine à l'extérieur, la déco est très sympa. La soirée s'est très bien déroulée, les plats sont bons et très copieux, mais un peu chers, en particulier les desserts. Un petit conseil, n'hésitez pas à réserver avant d'y aller !

21/08/2024: Very disappointed this Sunday at 1:45 p.m., there were 2 of us on motorbikes to stop at this restaurant while 2 motorbikes were also stopped.
We barely entered to politely ask if we could have a meal when a woman gave us a categorical refusal, even for a sandwich. A shame for a restaurant that was also a bar. Please note that the dining room was far from full this Sunday...
Being a trader also means knowing how to be kind, dear madam, and above all to help out backpackers who don't ask for alms...

An absolutely delicious crème brûlée
I highly recommend this restaurant which also has a social role

08/09/2024: Balade entre amis au lac de la Madine, le 30 août dernier.
Au retour de la Butte de Monsec, en arrivant à Nonsard, nous nous sommes arrêtés dans le premier restaurant, en vue. Aucun regret, nous étions très bien sur la terrasse, accueil irréprochable, nous avons très bien mangé, pour un prix plus que raisonnable. Nous recommandons vivement.

Great menu which focuses on a few simple but quality dishes (the fries and potatoes were great) :)
Remarks :
- A vegetarian option (without fish) is missing, I would have taken it!
- It's a shame that the meats are not exclusively local (or the information panel is not up to date)
I will come back!

11/08/2024: de passage dans la région je cherchais un lieu typique et je suis tombé par hasard sur les avis positifs concernant ce restaurant.
j'ai donc appelé la veille pour réserver, et je jour j nous avons découvert ce restaurant où l'accueil du patron et du personnel est très chaleureux.
il n'y a qu'un unique menu qui change chaque jour, celui ci comprend entrée - plat principal - assortiment de fromages sur un grand plateau de bois - dessert au choix, le tout avec une boisson et un café.
la cuisine est faite maison et familiale.
les portions sont copieuses, et nous sommes ressortis bien rassasiés.
lorsque nous serons de nouveau dans la région, nous ne manquerons pas d'y faire à nouveau une halte gastronomique.
07/05/2024: Hotel that doesn't look much from the outside, rather rural setting, decent comfort, but on the other hand, a welcome of extraordinary kindness whether for the hotel or the restaurant. The value for money is unbeatable, 72 euros for: one night, 2 breakfasts and one dinner, it's unique.
The frugal breakfast, the very good and homemade dinner, no worries, wonderful helpfulness, easy parking, the Meuse sector takes us out of time, rural, but what good does that do! To be recommended without a doubt!

01/10/2024: Takeover of the La Fontaine restaurant by a young, friendly couple who lack experience. Laborious start with very slow service... Overall, the meal is quite good, even if some vegetables are undercooked. The restaurant is quite expensive. A few small errors which will certainly be rectified later. But for our part, we will move on.
I still wish you good luck.
30/09/2024: Traditional and Chilean cuisine concocted by a young Chilean chef and served by his charming wife, restaurant opened only a few days ago. Simple cuisine, very well prepared, fresh produce. We will be happy to come back.

To respond to a comment from Arnaud Martin, the boy is no longer in the Chanzy team, you certainly had a bad day for him, that does not excuse his behavior, but you can go back, you will not be disappointed.
Honestly a good restaurant with quality dishes and fresh products.

05/09/2024: Prima eten, goede gastvrije bediening, ruime porties en vooral erg lekker.
We zijn er meermaals geweest afgelopen jaren en het was altijd goed tot zeer goed. Geen complex concept: goede kaas levert lekker eten.
24/07/2024: Pas un gastro mais ce n’est pas ce que je recherchais et franchement très bien pour une étape rapide, « petite » salade vraiment pas petite et tarte aux mirabelles très bonne ! Service rapide et sympa, ce qui ne gâche rien !
