10/05/2026: I was very disappointed by the service in this shop. The products live up to their reputation, however, the saleswoman was regrettably cold (like she was from the North Pole), the complete opposite of the warm welcome you find everywhere else in Lille. It's a shame...

10/05/2026: Méert could genuinely be my favourite dessert place in the world. I still can’t forget the taste of their famous waffles, delicate and lightly crisp on the outside, yet soft and buttery in the centre, with a rich vanilla filling that melts beautifully with every bite. They somehow feel both elegant and comforting at the same time. I loved them so much that I even ordered delivery while living in London. That alone probably says everything.

17/11/2025: As a Lyon native visiting Lille, my discovery couldn't have been more delightful. A warm welcome, a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere—I had a wonderful time with the other customers and the manager. All this, of course, while enjoying a good glass of wine without restraint, as the ideal location allows easy access on foot to all the city's attractions. Thank you for this evening spent in your company. Laughter and sparkle ;-).

08/11/2025: Excellent coffee, just like before! The restaurant is perfect for lunch. There's always a daily special, with unbeatable value for money. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service efficient, making it an ideal spot for a quick and tasty lunch break.

28/09/2025: We started with Tataki de Thon. Tasted very good. Then Supreme de Volaille which was also perfect. We finished with Assiette de Fromages and Millefeuille aux Fraises. Really nice too. Everything was perfect. We´ll be back.

30/04/2026: First visit today and I have mixed feelings… The wait for our order was very long; we felt a bit forgotten. The food is good, but the €10 mojito was frankly disappointing… When it came time to pay, we felt invisible, as the staff preferred to talk about tips… It's a shame, because the terrace and the main square make for a very pleasant setting! On the other hand, we ate well, but the service needs improvement!

03/05/2026: Quite disappointed, it's not our first time there. The staff has changed and they're not very friendly, especially the tattooed man with the beard and "long" hair. A young woman and another young man were really nice. However, we had paprika salt on our fries which had no flavor. We ordered a veggie sandwich, and it was served with bread and only raw vegetables. We didn't really understand; everything was put in the sandwich when we only asked for meat. In short, lots of mistakes, expensive for what we got.

24/04/2026: Avoid at all costs! We came to order a large order of fries and were greeted in a particularly unpleasant manner, with the distinct impression that we were bothering them. They showed no interest in helping us, their tone was curt, and the service was rushed. Don't even expect to get any more helpful advice from the other person preparing the fries: she'll just give you the once-over from the back of the shop...while smoking a cigarette! Unacceptable! Furthermore, the "large fries" for 4 euros is a complete joke (see photo). The fries might be okay (but nothing extraordinary), but the service/welcome is in dire need of improvement! I absolutely do not recommend this place.

10/02/2026: A fantastic discovery! The food is delicious and adventurous, the atmosphere is like an old bistro, and the owner is very friendly. I highly recommend it.

14/01/2026: A fantastic, characterful spot to eat or enjoy a good glass of wine or a local beer. You can also enjoy incredibly delicious dishes prepared by the talented chef. Thanks to the manager for the warm welcome and helpful advice.

14/02/2026: Honestly, not great. The woman who served us was very friendly. But the food itself wasn't very good, especially for the price... The tables weren't clean even though there were only a few people in the restaurant.

28/05/2026: I'm currently at this bar. I agree with some of the reviews: the service is lukewarm and the cocktails are poorly mixed. For €10 a cocktail, you're better off going to Quai des Bananes on Rue Royale ❤ at least you get your money's worth and the service is better ❤

24/05/2026: Very pleasant place, lovely view of Notre Dame de la Treille, but a major drawback: it took over 40 minutes for a server to finally take our order, and another 40 minutes for a grumpy server to slam our glasses down at our table (for two beers and two basic cocktails). In short, if you have time to waste having a drink (1 hour 20 minutes), this bar is for you 😉😁

07/04/2026: This small cafe next to the park serves a small menu of local and french national food. The plat de hour was finished by 13:30 and was a reasonable 14.50e. Service appeared slow at first as the two man team appeared very busy, however we ordered after 10 minutes (not slow) and the food arrived soon after (allowing for cooking time). Service was friendly, helpful and involved lots of rushing around. A good lunch

08/05/2026: €17 for a meat dish and a small potato gratin. Could we have a small salad with it? The same price for burgers that the children didn't like. The tiramisu was good. The brioche bun was good too. The toilets were in a terrible state... Overpriced.

07/05/2026: Half the menu was out of stock because they were closed on May 8th… incomprehensible. I asked for olive oil, and here's what I received (see photo). You be the judge…

08/07/2025: A deplorable experience – avoid! We received one of the worst possible welcomes at this crêperie. We arrived when there was visible space in the dining room (including the basement), and the manager told us it was full, forcing us to dine on the terrace... even though it was going to rain. Despite our comment about the impending weather (which was confirmed 20 minutes later), he categorically refused to let us in or lower the blinds. The result: dining in a drizzle, completely absurd. The crêpes served weren't even the ones we ordered: one "Indian" and one "Oriental," which had nothing to do with the descriptions. Bland ingredients, rushed service, and, above all, the manager's arrogant, contemptuous, and unprofessional attitude. Other customers left to avoid eating in the rain, and any attempt at common sense was ignored. Absolutely avoid. There are many other crêperies in Lille where customers are respected and where they know what hospitality means.
