The atmosphere was more relaxed and less "sophisticated" compared to other restaurants of this type, which was quite nice (you feel more comfortable and welcome). The tasting menu we ordered was delicious; we enjoyed each of the seven courses (we were particularly surprised by the cheese dish, which was absolutely delicious). We'll definitely be back!

Staff are nice.
Atmosphere is ok on the terrace, would have preferred indoors, but they said they couldn't have us inside.
I want to add a new review, because yesterday's dinner was an excellent experience. Food is beyond delicious, staff are so nice and atmosphere is cozy and warm.

10/03/2026: A truly excellent restaurant since its reopening a few months ago under the new owner. The staff are very pleasant and attentive, and the cuisine is simple, delicious, and generous. The menu offers three starters, main courses, and desserts, all homemade, and changes several times a week. A former favorite that has (finally!) regained its former glory, much to our delight. The setting, with its perfectly restored Art Deco decor, enhances the overall experience.
03/03/2026: The Métropole, a listed historical monument, embodies French tradition; let's step back in time to the 1930s. Fast and courteous service and a lovely sunny terrace... for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

The service was great — the waiter was super friendly and attentive. He gave us time to decide and even added an extra table for us, which was really nice.
We had escargot, magret de canard, côte de bœuf, faux filet, and some wine — everything was delicious.
Even the dessert was amazing.
Highly recommend!

02/04/2026: I was in Rouen one day and ate at this tavern, inspired by the reviews. I can't make any comparisons, but I'd definitely recommend it. The place is beautiful, the food excellent, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The quality/price ratio is also excellent.

The raclette is excellent, whether it's the cheese, the cured meats, or the potatoes… the atmosphere and the staff are also very friendly! Top 👍🏼

03/04/2026: We just left the restaurant at 3:15 PM, but having arrived at 12:20 PM, this means my husband and I spent three hours at the table for five courses. I find this unacceptable. The meal itself was delicious, and the desserts were excellent—not too sweet and with a very pleasant touch of acidity. However, because of this excessively long wait at the table, I cannot recommend this establishment. We arrived very relaxed and left feeling stressed.
