19/07/2026: Located on the quayside overlooking the docks, L'Ardoise enjoys a pleasant setting. The restaurant boasts a lovely terrace with views of the port of Le Havre. The welcome was particularly warm. We settled comfortably under the veranda that evening. The menu is varied and offers some unusual dishes. We noticed original starters such as the Japanese-style fried egg with chickpea cream, or the avocado with poppy seeds, mango and celery insert, which made us want to explore this cuisine. These dishes were excellent! For our main course, we chose the veal kidneys with mushrooms, accompanied by homemade fries—a delicious dish. A very good restaurant and a wonderful discovery that we highly recommend when visiting Le Havre. It's best to make a reservation as the restaurant fills up quickly.

02/08/2026: The menu is funny. The food is delicious. But it's relatively underpriced. Those cheeky chaps are making a huge profit because, considering the price, I would have liked more space as the table was tiny, and a much better presentation (it was already very good, but for the price, I want some serious sparkle). Otherwise, the music was very tasteful. Oh yes, but the virgin mojito wasn't sweet enough and was expensive for the size. Almost €10 for 33cl... As I said, a huge markup. But for the service, which was still good, it's not enough to justify these prices. I was expecting a table with more space and a more refined experience. €76 for a starter for two, one main course each, and two mocktails. I've had much better experiences, and it was in Colmar's Little Venice during the Christmas season. They provided a blanket, had a superb view, and offered far superior food and customer service (although it was acceptable here; the waitress was nice, but the service wasn't good enough for the price, as stated). The waitress was even surprised we didn't order dessert. Sorry, but I didn't want to spend €100 on what was essentially a "bistro" experience. It was very good, but far too expensive for what it was.

Quality home-style cooking with a choice of varied starters and main courses (for me that evening, amberjack with virgin sauce, beef tartare with confit egg yolk, and fries, but with a choice of sides: fries/green beans or salad). The starters weren't very generous, unlike the main courses. The desserts were generous and perfectly executed. A very, very good chocolate mousse: perfection (taste, texture). Excellent rice pudding as well. High marks for the quality of the ingredients. Crispy bread. Air-conditioned restaurant. Spacious, clean restrooms with soap.

30/07/2026: A very pleasant restaurant. We came for dinner on a weekday evening and everything went very well; the service was perfect. I recommend this place; we will definitely come back for dinner.

15/08/2026: We were given time to savor the meal between each course. Everything was excellent. My friend has a lactose intolerance, and her menu was tailored accordingly, which is rare in restaurants. I recommend this place 100%.

04/08/2026: Highly recommended restaurant by chef David who is very kind. We started aperol at the terrace facing a nice river , then moved into the kitchen area for the dinner. All dishes were perfectly made and very delicious. Innovative dishes and made use of fresh local produce. Absolutely yum.

16/07/2026: Exquisite lunch, sharply priced. French cuisine at its best: locally sourced, tradition with a twist, great selection of wines, classy and casual atmosphere, and finally a restaurant where kids are not supposed to eat the usual sausage or spaghetti but can have a friendly priced pick of the adult's menu. I wish this restaurant to have great customers that can appreciate their efforts and a long and happy gastronomic life to the team.

The service lived up to the excellent welcome and the delicious food. Its reputation speaks for itself, but we highly recommend it and will definitely return.
