13/09/2024: We just returned from our second stay at Maison du Val, and once again, it was absolutely amazing—we didn’t want to leave! It’s such a perfect escape from the city, and the best part is that it’s so easy to get to from central Paris. Just a quick ride on the RER A, and within an hour you’re surrounded by the most stunning grounds, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. The lush greenery and beautiful landscape make you feel like you’re in the countryside, even though Paris is so close by. Whether you’re exploring the grounds or just relaxing, it’s a stunning place to unwind. One of the highlights for us was the Sunday brunch—it’s simply incredible! The variety and quality of the food were top-notch, and it really felt like a special experience. We could’ve stayed at the table for hours just enjoying the delicious offerings. For families, Maison du Val is a dream. The kids’ club and activities kept our little ones entertained the whole weekend. They had a blast with all the fun things to do, and it gave us adults some much-needed downtime to enjoy the other amenities. Speaking of which, there’s so much to do! The game rooms, cinema, and Nordic bath were huge hits for us, and all these free facilities really make the stay interesting and packed with activities. Whether you want to relax or keep busy, there’s something for everyone. As for the rooms, they’re not overly luxurious, but they’re comfortable and have everything you need for a relaxing stay. Given all the other amazing aspects of the hotel, the rooms were perfectly fine for us. All in all, Maison du Val continues to be one of our favorite weekend getaways. We can’t wait to return again and enjoy everything it has to offer! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat close to Paris.

12/09/2024: Overall amazing! My wife and I spent a week end there last week with our daughter. She is 7, and this place is truly amazing. It’s an all inclusive place. There are 3 buffet meals, plus 1 snack around 4pm, every single item is home made, dishes, cakes, macarons, crepes, even the chocolate spread made by a pastry chef. The alcohol is on open bar, and there is also non alcoholic. The concierge Francois and the manager Sara are looking after you at any time of the day and night thank you to them. There are outdoor games, table tennis, football, hot tubs, trampoline, lovely little bicycle carts ( Rosalies) and you are at the gate of a forest , there is no sound, it’s quiet, family friendly. It feels like the best week end of the end of the vacation with family, when there is tension because everyone seizes the moment knowing it won’t last. The kids clubs is great, there is also a pool table, baby foot, flipper, and home cinema. The rooms are honestly so-so, but you truly pay not to spend a minute inside. The showers are a bit depressing. But it’s all fine, because it’s so peaceful and you rest so well there ! Thank you, we will see each other again !!

18/08/2024: Très déçue, a part le cadre et le service très sympathique, je n’ai pas pu terminer mes plats. En entrée: grosse purée de petit pois, presque sans assaisonnement. En plat des pâtes avec 2 gouttes de sauce et 3 petits morceaux de fêta. Il faut retravailler vos recettes. Le dessert, une mousse de châtaigne, était bon !

15/08/2024: J'ai découvert cet établissement via du bouche à oreilles mais j'avoue que je ne l'avais jamais remarqué avant. Il se situe en face du château, mais légèrement en retrait de la grande rue et un peu dissimulé derrière les grands arbres de la petite place. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une petite table sous les arbres, c'était trop agréable, au calme à côté d'un olivier. Ca sentait bon les vacances! Le service est pro, rien à dire, on sent la passion du métier! Les plats sont inspirés de la cuisine corse. Un petit rosé corse, tentacules d'encornet au piment d'Espelette à la purée de maïs très surprenante, suivi d'une nage d'agrumes à la citronnelle pour moi. Tout était très bon, fin, bien présenté comme j'aime. Et la nage d'agrumes était sensationnelle en saveurs, bravo! Une très bonne adresse à St Ger, qui se démarque clairement des restaurants autour trop banals et sans effort (pardon pour eux..)

04/08/2024: It was my birthday and we were invited by our daughter. It was an excellent surprise: beautiful dishes, tasty cuisine... fresh, good, and ALL homemade! We will come back to this.

04/08/2024: Nous sommes tombés sur ce restaurent par hasard en vadrouillant dans Saint Germain. Les plats et les desserts sont des créations maison bien réussis. Viandes, poissons aux choix, le tout dans un cadre sympa, un service aimable et toujours dispo. C'est avec plaisir que nous y retournerons.

09/09/2024: Gastro or Autogrill!? While we arrived and consumed a lot, the service offered throughout the meal was tinged with palpable tension. We were in t-shirts due to an improvised program and we were immediately judged by these Saint-German people, who gave us their little careerist snobbery, incapable of decoding the soul of an individual. Their Gault et Millau plaque won in the 90s, where they celebrated a “reputation for a luxury green table” is only a shadow of itself today. Only a few dishes stand out and are of a gourmet level, the rest is livid and tasteless like the service, serving a tasteless foie gras, wrapped in its red fruit jelly, trying with difficulty to give it a little consistency . No look, not a smile, not a thank you, just the norm, just the minimum “what you need” ending with the TPE mechanically stretched out. Accompanied by a mention “who pays? Right or left? ". Special mention to the head waiter serving the guests on duty briefly and without embellishment without looking at us - extremely cold and unpleasant. In short, a bad experience. Go your way.

28/09/2024: Fairly high prices compared to the quality. Pleasant welcome at the entrance but not gracious waiter, didn't bring us the right wine, we pointed it out to him but he didn't seem to understand. Simple dishes but expensive overall. Not easy access via a large staircase on the square. Not too noisy atmosphere. Note, very beautiful view of the castle of St Germain en Laye, well located on a pleasant square.

01/09/2024: Went for dinner with friends and my foie gras and entrecote steak mains were both excellent pate had superb texture and flavour and steak was good thickness which allowed for it's perfectly rare but caramelized exterior, this is why so many people rave about French food I would certainly return if there weren't so many other great places to try !!
