03/02/2026: I have never been treated so badly in my life as I was as a guest at this restaurant. We had to wait an extremely long time before we were even served. The food and drinks were simply dumped on the table without any courtesy. When we asked the waitress for the bill, she silently placed the receipt on the table and then ignored us for about 30 minutes. In the end, we put the money on the table ourselves and left. I wouldn't have wanted to leave a tip in such a situation – but apparently, this is their preferred way of treating guests. The food was okay, but nothing special. I can only advise against visiting this restaurant. German-speaking guests, in particular, seem to be unwelcome here.

10/03/2026: I've driven past it countless times, finally went there for a meal. The food was excellent, as were the wines... It was definitely worth it, delicious food, top-notch service... we'll be back! Dog-friendly too.

07/01/2026: I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Au Relais des Ménétriers in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, France. This restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from the entrance of the old town of this beautiful village, making it very easy to reach while still feeling pleasantly calm. The tables are well spaced, allowing for comfortable conversations, and the service is friendly, smiling, and attentive throughout the meal. We had the opportunity to try the Baeckeoffe au canard, a specialty made with duck, baked in a terrine-style mold and served with a generous selection of vegetables. The dish was both very flavorful and surprisingly light, with duck that was incredibly tender, clearly benefiting from the slow cooking in this cake-mold-shaped cocotte. We also ordered the matelote of perch, wrapped in a very fine pastry and served with a delicious sauce. Both dishes are emblematic of Alsatian cuisine and were executed with great care and precision. We finished with a chocolate moelleux for dessert, which was rich and satisfying. Considering the quality of the food, the setting, and the service, the prices are very reasonable. All in all, a restaurant I can highly recommend to anyone visiting Ribeauvillé and looking for authentic, well-executed Alsatian dishes in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

07/02/2026: Avoid at all costs! The waiter takes your order with his hands in his pockets. You get the feeling you're bothering him, and he's not even smiling. You get the impression that people he knows get served better than everyone else.

26/02/2026: Restaurant visited on February 25, 2026, for lunch. The homemade cordon bleu with Munster sauce and spaetzle was perfect, and the five-meat sauerkraut was really very good with flavorful cabbage. The iced kugelhopf to finish was perfect. We were greeted by a friendly and witty man; we quickly felt at ease, which was refreshing—no fuss like in many places. He doesn't turn people away if the restaurant is full; he simply suggests they come back later. Thank you for this experience and for what I consider an affordable price (under €100 for three). We will definitely be back very soon.

06/03/2026: It's good, it's nice, the prices are fair, and the food is delicious. The decor is Alsatian, it's a style, but it lingers in your mind, and for that reason alone, we'll be back. The tarte flambée is expertly made. A very charming spot in a very touristy area where some places wouldn't hesitate to serve you bland and overpriced food. L'Arbalète isn't a tourist trap, but a truly lovely restaurant! And we absolutely love it!

04/12/2025: We had a wonderful time at the tasting. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the owner's explanations were fascinating. Some of the wines even pleasantly surprised us with their original and delicate flavors. The only slight suggestion for improvement was that we would have appreciated slightly more generous tasting portions. However, this didn't detract from the experience at all, which was truly delightful. Thank you again for this lovely time!

25/02/2026: The food was good, but the service was very poor. We booked by phone and were told we absolutely had to be there by 7 pm at the latest and that we would be forced to share a table because the restaurant was full. In reality, all the customers who walked in hadn't booked, and the restaurant wasn't full at all. We ate well, but the atmosphere is a bit odd. We wouldn't recommend it to tourists.

14/02/2026: In light of your response, I understand your negative publicity in 2022 with your "CHILD-FREE restaurant" much better. I think you mainly have a problem with customer relations and prejudices about your potential customers! I certainly don't work 35 hours a month as you imply... I can assure you it wasn't 8:40 PM because we were able to find a smile and service at 8:25 PM at another friendly restaurant just a little further up the street! Let's hope your mood is different for future customers! We couldn't eat at 8:20 PM on a Friday evening at the start of school holidays because they stopped serving... YET THE DINING ROOM WAS 3/4 FULL AND SOME PEOPLE WERE NOT BEING SERVED... We complain a lot, but when we want to, we can attract customers... Anyway!

31/12/2024: Absolutely excellent cheese dairy! We bought various pieces of cheese (wild garlic, fenugreek, herbs, natural) as well as butter. The service was very nice and also speaks German. The prices are very cheap. Absolutely recommended.
