09/04/2026: During our visit to the magnificent Château du Haut-Königsbourg, we stopped for lunch at Au Relais des Ménétriers in Ribeauvillé — and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. From the first bite to the last, every single dish was absolutely delicious: beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and served with genuine warmth. The setting is charming, the service attentive, and the quality of the food truly memorable. We left the table already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!

Comfortable seating. Professional service. (++) Munster cheese tarte flambée (€13.50). A good tarte flambée, just the way I like it: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. (++) Veal kidneys (€21). Ordered pink and served pink. Good and generously portioned. With sautéed potatoes. (++) Pork cheeks (€20). Good jus and a good dish. (++) Apple crumble tart (€5.50). Good dessert. (++) Profiteroles (€10). 3 cream puffs. Good. Tea (€3.50). Coffee (€2.10). 2 glasses of Pinot Gris (2 x €4). 1 Pepsi Max (€3.90).

07/04/2026: €45 per person for 3 people (€133.60 in March 2026). Good food, beautiful dining room with elaborate winstub-style decor, professional, warm, and attentive service from Matthieu. Comfortable chairs/benches. Large bar separating two rooms. Clean restrooms. Good dinner. The ambiance and service overshadow the food alone. 2 x Alsatian set menus (€42) (++) Casserole of 6 snails. Snails cooked properly in garlic butter. Good dish as expected. The waiter stated that the snails came from the Vosges Moselle region. +) Mixed salad with foie gras, raw vegetables, 1 slice of cured ham, 2 1/2 toasted slices, thin slice of foie gras. Quite good dish, nothing extraordinary. (++) Sauerkraut with 5 garnishes. Good dish. The acidity of the cabbage was well-balanced. The meats were undoubtedly steamed. That said, I prefer pork roasted until caramelized. (+++) Roasted ham hock with Munster cheese. It needed a little more Munster sauce. We had to ask for more. A very good dish, even if the meat lacked a bit of tenderness and caramelization. (-) Slices of Vacherin glacé (x2). No flavor whatsoever. Ice creams with very bland flavors. A very thin layer of meringue. Completely uninteresting. Seeing my disappointment, the waiter offered me a small slice of farmhouse Munster cheese, which was very good with some nice bread. À la carte: (+) Pan of gratinéed spaetzle with Munster sauce (€22). Served with a small salad. A fairly good dish, a little stingy with the sauce. (++) Blueberry tart (€7.50). A good tart, not too sweet. 2 glasses of Pinot Gris (2 x €5.50); ​​1 Coca-Cola Zero (€3.70); 1 tea (€2.90); 1 espresso (€2.50)

26/02/2026: Restaurant visited on February 25, 2026, for lunch. The homemade cordon bleu with Munster sauce and spaetzle was perfect, and the five-meat sauerkraut was really very good with flavorful cabbage. The iced kugelhopf to finish was perfect. We were greeted by a friendly and witty man; we quickly felt at ease, which was refreshing—no fuss like in many places. He doesn't turn people away if the restaurant is full; he simply suggests they come back later. Thank you for this experience and for what I consider an affordable price (under €100 for three). We will definitely be back very soon.

07/04/2026: Not a single star! Unfortunately, the service was consistently unfriendly and unaccommodating. It was particularly irritating that they initially refused to speak German with us, even though it was later clear that they were perfectly capable of doing so. Especially in a place heavily reliant on tourism, such behavior seems unprofessional. The service at the next table was also extremely unfriendly, so it didn't seem like an isolated incident. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing; the taste wasn't what we've come to expect from other restaurants in Ribeauvillé. There are many restaurants in Ribeauvillé that offer significantly more in terms of both hospitality and cuisine. For us, this restaurant was a definite disappointment.

27/03/2026: We stayed two nights at the Resort Barrière Ribeauvillé, chosen primarily for its spa and wellness center. While the rooms and overall service quality met the standards of a 4-star hotel, several significant issues detracted from the experience. First, substantial construction work was underway at the hotel entrance (a crane was present), without us having been informed beforehand. But the main disappointment concerned the spa and wellness center. It is actually open to the public, resulting in large crowds and an atmosphere more akin to a public swimming pool than a high-end relaxation area. Furthermore, the hotel only has a few lounge chairs inside (4) for over 50 rooms, making any kind of relaxation difficult. After speaking with the spa manager, it appears that this situation is known but difficult to rectify in the short term. This nevertheless raises a genuine question about the alignment between the services offered and the legitimate expectations of hotel guests. Other areas for improvement: The sports bar clearly lacks charm and does not meet the expected standard. The absence of a proper hotel bar is surprising for this price range. At the Brasserie restaurant, the open layout overlooking the casino entrance detracts from the ambiance, and the interactions between guests arriving at the casino and the servers are not always up to standard. It should be noted, however, that breakfast and the brasserie are of good quality. In summary, an acceptable experience in some respects, but disappointing in the central element that had motivated our visit. Greater transparency and a repositioning of the spa services would be necessary to bring it in line with a 4-star rating.
