26/01/2026: It's not what it used to be: What a shame... Having known the Galopins restaurant for several years, I remembered the rib steaks or lamb shanks presented in a festive, almost ceremonial way, on beautiful wooden boards adorned with sauces and fleur de sel, accompanied by perfectly golden, crispy fries—the kind you can eat even when you're not hungry. This Saturday, wanting to relive such a moment, we made a reservation for 8:15 pm. Our first surprise: the rib steak, previously prominently featured on the menu, had been relegated to the back of the menu, sandwiched between the main courses and desserts. Was this a clue? A change of ownership in recent years? (It's true that our last visit was at least three years ago.) We took our order and were told that if we really wanted the rib steak, we would have to wait a long time... a bit surprising for a cut that's supposed to be prepared fresh and served with fries: was the grill not on? Was the fryer not plugged in? Anyway, we persevered. 25-30 minutes later, we were served a ribeye steak in a deep plate, swimming in its own juices... and in another deep plate, pale fries, clearly undercooked. While the meat tasted good (though without fleur de sel), the fries were more than disappointing: soggy and tasted like flour. We sent them back, specifying that we wanted golden fries, and if possible, cooked through. The same plate returned 5 minutes later, with the same fries, probably deep-fried for another minute in what looked like ancient oil: in short, still undercooked, still not golden, but with the added bonus of that lingering taste of old oil clinging to the fries. I gave up; the ribeye steak would be eaten without fries. Conclusion: While the complimentary gourmet coffee at the end of the meal was appreciated, I will still remove Les Galopins restaurant from my list of places to eat a superb ribeye steak and fries.

03/12/2024: Nonos et les Comestibles: Paul Pairet's high-end brasserie at Le Crillon, a very nice balance between sophistication and relaxation. What an idea to go to Crillon in the middle of the Olympic Games, with the Arena Concorde right next door! But the police help us navigate through the numerous barriers, and we finally manage to enter this magnificent palace. Nonos is on the ground floor, just past the lobby. It is both a beautiful room, and also an interior terrace. The weather is nice, we opt for the terrace. It is cozy, shaded by the walls of the hotel, beautiful garden furniture and greenery, very successful. Nonos is the brasserie of Paul Pairet, the three-star chef whose flagship restaurant is in Shanghai, and incidentally a Top Chef jury. An original, relaxed and talented character, all characteristics that we find in the menu, as in the service. It’s indeed a brasserie menu, but high-end; we love this combination of relaxation, efficiency, and sophistication. We start by sharing starters. First, grilled padrons with pine nuts, these typical little Spanish peppers, and leeks with hazelnut vinaigrette, verbena and fresh mint. Then a magnificent gruyere soufflé, served in a cast iron dish turned upside down in front of us; it is without flour or gluten, and the waiter adds cheese with a siphon to fluff it up well; the cheese flows when cut, delicious. As Nonos claims to be a rotisserie, we take the slice cart, meat cooked for several hours Texan barbecue style; and “Nonos” obliges, accompanied by a generous marrow bone. Our other dish is a tasty grilled veal rice with juice, accompanied by grilled vegetables with pine nuts. Everything is both simple and refined, delicious and perfectly executed. We finish with a chocolate soufflé, also “inflated” with chocolate from the siphon, and the team’s favorite dessert: a very light cream tart, thin flaky pastry. With coffee, aperitif, wine, paying 160 Euros per person for such an experience at the Crillon seems almost reasonable! Instagram @restowhim
01/12/2024: The steak and fries are excellent and the service perfect, but the meal is spoiled by the “Chef's Playlist” (Sic) which imposes mind-numbing music on us that is completely off-base. When is the duck dance? The kitchen, the staff and the customers deserve better.

05/02/2026: Four of us, having just left a client meeting nearby, I found this little storefront quite charming, very inviting, and different from the somewhat "low-end" brasseries/restaurants in the area. Once inside, it was truly unique, and the owner is a fantastic guy who deserves to be better known! The food was excellent, and the wine selection was amazing! Special mention for his rum and champagne. A great find, I'll definitely be back, whether to eat or buy some goodies! See you soon!
29/12/2025: I had about an hour to spare before going to dinner, so I stopped in. The owner is wonderful. Among the wide variety of alcoholic beverages available, including wine, liqueurs, and Japanese whiskey, you can purchase wines made by the owner or the actual winemaker. Without flattery, it was the best champagne I have ever had. The owner was very kind and explained all sorts of things to me. It was also very heartwarming to see local customers dropping in, purchasing their daily wine, and leaving. I'll definitely stop by again next time. Thank you!

04/04/2025: First time I have seen a pokawa serving such pathetic quantities I was treated to 3 slices of cucumber fighting a duel with 3 pieces of mango. Shocked at the portions for the price.
