AU PETIT TONNEAU
Gros-Caillou, Paris
11/05/2026: Really friendly staff, amazing authentic food, great wine!
04/05/2026: Don't go on Sundays, as they charge €52 for a blanquette de veau that's nowhere near my grandmother's; the nougat glacé is just average. Very, very expensive, and the food is mediocre. I don't recommend it. It seems like a tourist trap to me.

Le Jules Verne
Gros-Caillou, Paris
23/04/2026: Nothing short of tremendous. I got a last minute lunch reservation for me and my girlfriend in the Alcove room (no city views but rather a view of the internal workings of the tower) but rest assured… the experience was spectacular. Upon arrival to the base of the tower, a gentleman fished us out from the crowds and invited us to skip through the horrendous tourist lines and bring us straight to the restaurant. From this time onward, you’re treated with the upmost respect and accolades the second you step off the (private) elevator. Need to use the restroom? No problem, an employee will escort you without hesitation. When it comes time to order food and drinks, you’ll be met with an accommodating expert to match your culinary preferences with your taste of wine. Fast forward through the artistically crafted mouth watering dishes… time for dessert. Our waitress approaches and informs us that a table has opened next to the window facing the heart of Paris and invites us to pivot and enjoy our dessert with a view! We take her up on the offer without hesitation and decide to order another glass or three of wine while we take in the breathtaking views. To finish it off, we get a complimentary treat from the chef and get told we’re free to traverse the floor of the restaurant to uncover all Jules Verne has to offer. I can’t thank the staff enough for the divine experience they blessed us with, and I urge everyone to make this restaurant a priority throughout their travels!
23/04/2026: I was rather disappointed with this experience, which I booked three months ago. The setting is magnificent, and the welcome was impeccable. The privileged access is unique and pleasant. Once seated, the view is breathtaking. Things get complicated when you ask what you want to drink, as no menu is presented and no prices are mentioned. The tastings are good, but somewhat disappointing, the flow of the drinks remaining rather bland. The staff will continuously refill your water glasses with filtered water, only for you to discover that these bottles will cost you 7 euros each. The setting is idyllic, but the execution is somewhat neglected.

Le Drop Cafe
Invalides, Paris
23/05/2026: The barmaid was very friendly and offered us some delicious cocktails.
22/05/2026: A lovely little brasserie where the food is excellent, a special mention for the spiced pork spider steak – absolutely divine! The service was very welcoming, even for wheelchair users. Go there if you're in the area, but be warned, it fills up quickly, especially at lunchtime; booking is definitely recommended! I'll definitely be back and I'll recommend it to all my friends.

Terres de Cafe
Gros-Caillou, Paris
18/05/2026: Great coffee, good location. One of those cozy places to sit near the Eiffel Tower. It's a bit small.
16/05/2026: Had a difficult experience with another customer today, and I just want to say how grateful I am to the staff of this café for handling the situation with professionalism, calmness, and kindness.
Thank you for treating people with humanity. It genuinely mattered.

Cinq-Mars
Saint-Thomas-Daquin, Paris
06/05/2026: Very nice staff and high-quality food overall. I would not say the restaurant is cheap, but the quality delivered was in line with our expectations, so the pricing felt reasonable for the experience.
Most of the dishes were excellent. The snails, sausage, and crème brûlée were all very good and well executed. The only dish I was slightly unsure about was the veal kidney. It still had a fairly strong gamey taste. I am not sure whether this was the intended traditional flavour or a matter of preparation, as in Hong Kong we are more familiar with pork kidneys, which are usually carefully cleaned with coarse salt and other local methods to reduce that flavour.
That said, this may simply be a difference in culinary style and personal preference rather than a fault. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, appreciated the service, and found Cinq-Mars to be a solid restaurant with good food quality.
06/05/2026: Excellent French cuisine! However, the portions are very generous, so come hungry! At 90 kg, it was quite a slog! Looking forward to the next time!

Café de l'empire
Saint-Thomas-Daquin, Paris
17/05/2026: We were pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant. The menu wasn't extensive, but the dishes were high quality, and the service was excellent. The servers were attentive, smiling, and very caring, despite the limited space they had to move around in, as we were a bit crowded, but this actually created a more convivial atmosphere. In the kitchen, everyone was working hard to keep customers from waiting; the food was incredibly fast and delicious. We had a lovely time, thank you.
17/05/2026: We had the snails and the duck confit. Both were amazing. After this place we went to the most famous escargot place (it is literally in the name) but this place’s snails were much better. Duck was so juicy and tender. The fried potatoes next to the duck were also very nice.

Coutume Cafe
Ecole-Militaire, Paris
28/04/2026: The customer service is appalling; hygiene needs improvement. Staff don't wash their hands and serve you your cup by placing their fingers on the rim.
25/04/2026: The wines weren't very flavorful. The staff weren't the most friendly with customers. Prices are reasonable for Paris.

Brasserie Bourbon
Invalides, Paris
21/05/2026: Very nice atmosphere, super friendly service staff, and the food was really good too.
We were mistakenly served someone else's order, which was then on the house. The waiters took it in good humor, and I was able to try the "Terrine de lapin" (rabbit terrine). I thought it was delicious.
But our original order, which arrived immediately afterward, was also very good.
I also found it very convenient that you could pay easily with your mobile phone using the QR code on the table, even with the option to leave a tip.
The value for money is excellent. I can highly recommend it.
Update: We returned to this restaurant three years later, and nothing has changed. Very friendly service, pleasant atmosphere, and the food was once again delicious. Still a clear recommendation.
20/05/2026: Before visiting the nearby National Assembly, we stopped for lunch around 1:30 pm on May 16th. We received a warm welcome, there was no wait, and we were immediately seated even though the restaurant was already quite full. The sweetbreads with morel sauce and fresh pasta were absolutely generous and, above all, delicious. The onion gratin was a real treat for my wife, as was the plate of warm vegetables—generous and very appetizing, which is often the case with this type of dish—that she ordered afterward. The vegetable risotto disappeared quickly, as my eldest son enjoyed it so much, and the Angus flank steak was devoured by my second son with relish.
Unfortunately, time was short, so we didn't have time to try dessert. But judging by the other tables, we have little doubt it would be excellent. As for the service: quick, efficient, and above all, friendly. A special thank you to Fernand, who took excellent care of us, for his good humor, wit, and kindness.
In short, we enjoyed the place so much that we went back for a drink after our visit to the National Assembly. And there again, we received the same warm welcome! A well-deserved 5 stars!
