07/05/2026: Being gluten intolerant, it had been a long time since we'd been able to enjoy this type of cuisine. At Mao's, the menu is clear, with allergens listed, and the staff is sensitive to allergies and intolerances. We were even offered a special amuse-bouche, a thoughtful touch that made us feel more confident. The dishes were delicious (spring rolls, lemongrass beef, and filet mignon), and we experienced no symptoms.

05/05/2026: Two years ago, I left the following review: "Thai food made by Thais. Excellent. Delicious cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Helpfulness and friendliness are on the menu." What a difference from my experience today! I called to reserve a table, knowing how busy this restaurant is at lunchtime on weekdays. I was given the choice between the counter and a high table, which I chose. So far, so good. When I arrived around 12:50 pm, there were only two people in the dining room, whereas it's usually packed. No one greeted me. There were only three of them... I wondered why there were so few customers. I was told they were all upstairs. I gave my name, saying I had a reservation. They wanted to seat me at the counter, even though I had reserved a high table. Finally, they told me that if I wanted a high table, it had to be the one next to the restrooms because all the others were reserved. Two people in the entire restaurant at almost 1 p.m., and no table for me? So I don't know what's going on. No one from the usual staff, no noise in the kitchen, whereas the place is usually bustling. Has the owner changed? I'll try again in a while because I've been going to this restaurant for ten years and I love it. In any case, if you go into this establishment and there's no noise and no many people seated, keep walking! P.S.: I just drove past the restaurant again. All the reserved tables are empty. A word to the wise...

20/05/2026: I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant during my visit to Montpellier. The place is truly beautiful and peaceful, and it also has an outdoor terrace where I sat and ate. The waitresses were incredibly friendly. The dishes and desserts were also delicious and beautifully presented; I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The prices weren't too high either, so it offered good value for money. I highly recommend this restaurant.

08/05/2026: The food is seriously home-style, with a real homey feel. The service is friendly, and the waitress, Celia (or someone else), I think, is welcoming and smiling. The beer is good, and the terrace, which I love, is bathed in sunshine. The tables and chairs are made of wood… a lovely terrace in the summer. The interior of the Babote Tower, dating back to the 15th century or earlier, creates a warm, slightly medieval, convivial, and romantic atmosphere. Special mention for the Thai chicken wings, which are super crispy 🥰

25/04/2026: I had Jajangmyeon served on a platter, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Fried Chicken, and it was tastier than most Korean restaurants. There is a reason why this place has been around for so long. Thank you for the meal. I wish you continued success.

17/11/2025: Lots of pre-made products. Nothing homemade, which is reflected in the buffet's price. Even the glass of rosé wine was poor quality. For this price, it's best to arrive when they open because by 8:30 PM everything is either dry or cold.

12/11/2025: The all-you-can-eat buffet is smaller than at other Asian restaurants, but the service is friendly and the prices aren't too high. A nice restaurant to try if you want a bit of peace and quiet and a leisurely meal.
