07/02/2026: Honestly, I was very disappointed. I ordered a vegetarian wrap. When the server arrived with our tray, he looked at our receipt, which was lying in front of us, without asking, snatched it from under our hands, and practically threw it at us. He slammed the tray down, without a hello, without a goodbye, nothing. We didn't say anything at the time; we thought maybe he was just tired. I bit into the wrap, and it tasted awful. I looked inside and saw something pink… It was a chicken and bacon wrap. So, definitely not vegetarian. When we pointed it out, the server tried to blame us, saying it wasn't the right receipt, which it was. We clearly got the impression he was just trying to excuse himself to his manager. They replaced the wrap, but didn't even apologize. And the worst part: the waiter in question laughed and said sarcastically, "It's fine," while I was on the verge of throwing up. I find that truly disrespectful. The behavior of some employees needs to be reviewed, especially when it comes to such serious mistakes.

You hesitate before tasting, not out of doubt, but reverence. The craftsmanship is almost sacred, precise, passionate, obsessive in the most beautiful way. Even the paper carries a whisper of perfume, as though the experience insists on lingering just a little longer, clinging softly to your senses. The décor drifts somewhere between rococo fantasy and dreamscape, gilded curves, intricate details, a theatrical elegance that feels both decadent and intimate. You half expect time to stop, or a clock to melt, or a hidden door to open if you dare to look closely enough. And then, there is the feeling. That rare, fleeting sensation that you’ve discovered something precious, almost secret. A place where passion is visible, tangible, alive in every corner. Au Fond du Jardin is not a pâtisserie. It is a spell.

16/05/2026: Deliciously generous food. The pizzas we ordered were generously topped with good quality ingredients. The dough was very thin and easy to eat. We also ordered the tikka chicken masala which was very tasty. The only feedback was about the desert. The menu was not very appealing. We ordered the rhubarb tart which was not good at all. Overall, a highly recommended family restaurant at an affordable price.

18/03/2026: I rediscovered this restaurant during a dinner with friends on a Friday evening. We had reserved a table for 8:30 pm but arrived early, at 8:00 pm. This wasn't a problem at all, and a table was quickly set for us. The restaurant offers tarte flambée, a varied menu, and daily specials at very attractive prices, including a weekly set menu available for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Friday. I opted for the set menu (main course + dessert) and thoroughly enjoyed it for a very reasonable price. The photo shows the dessert: a poached pear in white wine, Belle Hélène style—delicious! My friends also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend it.

05/05/2026: Quick shopping experience 🤣 Closed at 7:15 PM, not 7:30 PM, because the slicer had already been cleaned and they didn't want to get it dirty again for a last-minute customer. Too bad for a poor tourist like me.

03/05/2026: A meal for two, weekday lunchtime. Excellent sauerkraut made with quality ingredients. Friendly service and a very reasonable bill. I appreciated being able to choose what I wanted in my sauerkraut, not from the set menu. Thank you.

02/05/2026: We ordered a bottle of water and received a dirty, already opened bottle filled with tap water. The cutlery was greasy, the servers held the glasses on the rim—no hygiene whatsoever. On top of that, we waited 30 to 40 minutes for a plate of pasta, salad, and bruschetta. It seems they forgot our order, because the pasta arrived lukewarm. Not to mention the prices, which are completely out of line with the service and the quality of the food.

03/05/2026: We ate here for lunch last Sunday during a day trip to Strasbourg, and everything was perfect! The restaurant is just a short walk from the city center. The interior is elegant and welcoming, but they also have several tables on the street, sheltered from the sun. We had lunch there, and it was very pleasant. We were there for fondue, and the young lady welcomed us very kindly and recommended the type of fondue we should order based on our tastes. Everything was delicious, the prices are more than fair, and the portions are generous; if you want a light lunch, even one for two is enough. They also sell cheeses and wines, and have a wide selection. I definitely recommend it.

09/04/2026: I loved my royal couscous to go. Absolutely no complaints. Flavorful, delicious, and generously portioned. The broth was excellent, and the meat was very good. If I may, the carrots could have been cooked a touch longer, and there could have been a bit more zucchini. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.
