13/09/2026: Debrief of our meal last night during the Feria The only positive point of the evening: the mixed appetizers Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were quite surprised to discover a single set menu for €52, which hadn't been mentioned at all when we made our reservation… A €52 menu that, in the end, seemed more like an enhanced version of the usual €40 menu. The appetizer, however, was quite good… and I think that was unfortunately the only positive aspect of the meal. Then came the main courses: kidneys, chicken with mushrooms, rouille (a garlic and garlic stew), or rib-eye steak. And be warned, the rib-eye steak costs an extra €10… As for the rest, the dishes seemed rather light, especially for a menu priced at that level. Then came dessert… and that was the icing on the cake! 🍓 Most of our table opted for the strawberries. We then received a bowl of whole strawberries, not even cut, along with a small bowl of whipped cream to share between five people. The result: about six strawberries per person and one spoonful of whipped cream each… At over €60 per person, one has to wonder if it wasn't a bit stingy, don't you think? The quality, quantity, and value for money clearly need improvement.

02/09/2026: I came specifically for the bull stew, but unfortunately it wasn't cooked enough; the meat was too tough. What a shame, I was disgusted. I know this dish very well and thought I was going to love it. Sorry for the bad review, but it's better not to offer it on the menu if it's so poorly prepared. The waitresses were very friendly.

15/08/2026: What a surprise to eat, after 50, your best mixed salad on the terrace of a small Arlesian café! Without hesitation, choose the farm salad: you will find the chicken and Emmental cheese promised, but also unexpected flavors and quality products.

07/08/2026: Lunch break on a long drive...and what a meal it was! We ordered two salads, a Caesar and an octopus salad. The octopus was perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and wonderfully complemented by the vegetables. And the fried chicken was also perfectly cooked, wonderfully moist, not at all dry, with a very crispy coating and fresh, well-balanced ingredients. For two people with hearty appetites, we were more than satisfied with these rather generous salads. I should add that the staff was lovely, which was a nice bonus!

18/07/2026: The Agachon restaurant on the road to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer is well-located. The welcome was fantastic! We had two grilled cuttlefish – absolutely delicious! 👍🙂 The service was quick, and the homemade desserts were amazing. I highly recommend stopping by. You can come at 2 pm and they'll serve you at your table. There's a shaded terrace and an air-conditioned dining room. Thank you, Agachon! See you soon! 🙂👍

02/08/2026: A great place, generous portions and friendly staff. Upstairs you can enjoy the live music while still being able to hear each other talk – it's fantastic, I highly recommend it.

30/03/2026: Definitely something wrong with this restaurant. Dinned at this place then threw up 3 times, kept me up all night long. Be REALLY careful chowing to eat here, it may endanger your life.

20/08/2026: A very bad experience. The dish was very greasy, and there was a dog that kept wandering between the tables. I was just passing through, thankfully, because I won't be going back there. Furthermore, the meat served to my son wasn't cooked.

17/06/2026: This hotel far surpassed my hopes and expectations. Websites can oversell a place with camera angles and photo edits and I was prepared to be slightly underwhelmed by L'Arlatan. Instead, I found that the hotel, restaurant, bar, and grounds were so phenomenal that the website actually undersold the space. It’s even more incredible in person. Everything was perfect - the comfort, coolness, and beauty of the rooms, the kindness of the staff, the stunning gardens and the phenomenal restaurant. Every detail is thoughtful and perfectly executed. I thought Arles would be a quick trip while passing through Provence but instead I’m already planning my next visit just so I can stay at L’Arlatan again. Thank you for an incredible experience!

26/05/2026: The L’Arlatan is going through a Golden Age. This is due to the superb team now running the hotel, one of the most impressive collections of professional hoteliers you are likely to find, and a blessing for this small town. The new chef is amazingly good. The wine selection (Domaine de Deves) is top notch. Whether you are dealing with Maxime and colleagues on reception, or Lara and Pierre and Sarah and colleagues in events and the restaurant, you are in truly exceptional hands. And this team is allowing the L’Arlatan’s natural advantages of location and their superb decor by Jorge Prado to shine all the brighter. Thank you for a superb experience.

17/08/2026: While sightseeing in Arles, I stopped for a salad at this little restaurant on Rue de la République. It was a great idea: excellent service and a delicious meal. A good place to remember 😉

16/08/2026: A charming restaurant nestled in the Camargue countryside, with a cinematic atmosphere. 😍 Cool under the trees, it offers a priceless relaxing break. Friendly and attentive service. Excellent quality dishes. ABSOLUTELY UNMISSABLE!

04/08/2026: Act I — The Setting A pretty terrace, a charming spot, a cold beer, decent coffee, and remarkably clean restrooms. We settle in, feeling confident. The cicadas are singing, the sun is shining, and somewhere in the kitchen, the drama is brewing. Act II — The Artists' Entrance The beans arrive. Not garden beans, no. Beans that still held, in their eyes, the nostalgia of their canned form. Then the tomatoes. Unripe tomatoes. In August. In the South. At this point, it's no longer a culinary mistake, it's a regional affront. The mistral wind itself should have risen to blow them off the plate. Luckily, the homemade fries were good. They seemed to be the only ones who had rehearsed before the performance. Act III — The Bull Enters the Stage And what a bull! A piece so tough it could have been used to repair the restaurant wall. I tried to cut it. The knife needed a union-style break. Next to it, the pork loin offered a daring concept: 50% meat, 50% fat, and 100% suspense with every bite. Act IV — The Tragic Dessert The crème brûlée arrives. Well, “burnt”… it had clearly been several hours before our arrival. The crust had lost all hope, and the taste remained mysterious enough that no one wanted to question the chef. Act V — The Inhabitants of the Place On the chairs and tables, cobwebs. Not just a few discreet threads. No. Veritable art installations, probably with spiders who had owned the place for generations. They seemed to know the restaurant better than the staff. Act VI — Colette And then there was Colette, waiting the tables. Colette was running around, coming back, going again, looking at the tables and regularly asking the customers, "Where am I at?" At first, we thought it was a joke. Then we realized we were part of the team. At the end of the meal, each table followed the progress of the service like a game of pétanque: "Colette, table eight is waiting for their desserts!" "Colette, you've already brought us the coffee!" "Colette, the bull is still alive, it's still putting up a fight on the plate!" Epilogue A pleasant terrace, a good beer, decent coffee, good fries, and spotless restrooms. For the rest, it wasn't really a meal. It was a six-act Provençal play, with teenage tomatoes, a granite bull, an archaeological crème brûlée, interior decorating spiders, and Colette in the lead role. We left disappointed, but with a wonderful story to tell. And perhaps that's what folklore is all about.

20/08/2026: We sat down on the terrace, but after 10 minutes no one had come to take our order. So we went to the counter and were told someone would be there to take our order, but we waited some more. The coffee was quite good, and the ice cream was good but rather sweet. When we went to pay, we walked right into an argument between the staff and the owner; they barely acknowledged us when we asked for payment. And finding the restrooms was a real hassle. The facilities are poorly marked; it's unclear which ones are for the hotel and which are for the café.

19/08/2026: Thank you to all the staff for the warm welcome and kindness, especially Laura and Manon. The backyard is enchanting and very pleasant, and the food is delicious.

15/08/2026: The paella was very good, but unfortunately I couldn't eat it because it was too hot in the room, the cheese wasn't fresh, and I had to stay outside all evening because the room was so hot and there was no air conditioning. It's a shame because it's a beautiful place. If I come back, I'll come in winter, not summer. I recommend it.

12/08/2026: A beautiful place that has retained its original spirit, a very friendly welcome, a well-thought-out menu, delicious food, and a convivial and pleasant atmosphere thanks to the DJ. We had an excellent evening on July 11th and will return in August with a group of friends because it's a place to share. Long live Arlette!

19/09/2026: A truly authentic pizzeria, efficient service, a simple, local and relaxed atmosphere... I recommend it!
