12/04/2026: A quick stop during a trip to the coast, everything was delicious, from the sushi to the spring rolls, from the skewers of the rising sun to the bowl of vegetable noodles. The staff is very pleasant and professional. A great place to return to on my next trip to Marseille.

06/05/2026: I ordered, they said 9:40 PM, it's 10:44 PM and still nothing. The delivery driver told me he has an order before mine, and since then I've only spoken to him twice on the phone. Once he was next door, the other time he was stopped by the police. He arrived with a soaking wet bag even though it wasn't raining, and half the order was missing. Never again! It's become a complete mess!

29/04/2026: I have mixed feelings after going there for lunch today. I visited La Boîte à Sardine with my ex in June 2016. I was thrilled to be able to bring her son today, as it was a real treat the first time. We arrived around 2 p.m. There was still skate and sardines available. We were happy! Unfortunately, two women who arrived five minutes after us had made a reservation. Their order was therefore taken first. I'm almost six months pregnant, and of what was left when we arrived, I could only eat sardines or skate. Unfortunately, when the ladies took the last skate, there was only one portion of sardines left to share (but we had eaten well that morning, so it wasn't a problem). The waiter offered us a marinated anchovy sandwich to boost our order. I said I couldn't eat it because I'm pregnant and the anchovies weren't cooked. He insisted we order one. I didn't dare refuse him. When the sandwich and sardines arrived, I gave half the sandwich to my son and served us some sardines, leaving a little on the side. The sardines were delicious. The sandwich was complicated. It was in a fried bun (I can't tolerate fried food anymore since I've been pregnant) and contained marinated anchovies, green leaves, and grilled and marinated red pepper. My son doesn't like red pepper. I removed some, but he still didn't like the sandwich. So I gave him what was left of the sardines. The waiter came back. I explained the situation. He removed the anchovies and told me to eat the sandwich, which he said was very good. I ate a bite to be polite, but it wasn't very good. It was fried bread with a few pieces of bell pepper, some green leaves, and a little olive oil. There was no other option but to give up. I worked in restaurants for ten years when I was younger. I don't like to be difficult, but I expected a small gesture of goodwill when I paid, after being forced to order a dish I couldn't eat. I didn't get any compensation; I had to pay full price. I paid for a meal I couldn't even eat, and then I had to buy something else outside because I was still hungry. What's even more annoying is that when I left, I saw a woman sitting at the counter who had arrived long after us, eating a plate of panisse and cooked fish with a green sauce. Why didn't they offer me that dish instead of pressuring me to order something I couldn't eat, even if I wanted to? I'm not sure I want to go back there. It's a shame. The sardines were very good, but the way they handled the situation was poor, and I'm very disappointed with my experience.

04/04/2026: We had dinner at this restaurant on Thursday evening and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The appetizers were delicious, bursting with flavor, and the ribeye steak… simply incredible! Two days later, we're still talking about it 😍 Meat lovers, go for it without hesitation! The service was impeccable and the setting very pleasant, which made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend this place!

15/04/2026: In my opinion, the best address in Marseille, fresh fish and deliciously cooked dishes, the best value for money! €26 offer including starter, main course and dessert, and a classy and warm atmosphere, and close to the old port, no hesitation.

12/04/2026: Avoid at all costs. The food was mediocre at best. I was sick all night. And the staff were incredibly stressed. They didn't bring you salt and pepper, they just threw it at you… They claimed it was due to staff shortages. There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby with attentive staff.

29/04/2026: We had lunch there during a weekend in Marseille and it was a wonderful discovery. The ingredients were top-quality, everything was homemade, and everything was delicious: vegetables, fish, and a special mention for the shortbread base of the strawberry tart – we'll definitely remember it. 28/04/2026: I'm going to tell you about my totally surreal experience at a restaurant in Marseille. I'd spotted the place with one thing in mind: to enjoy some gorgeous plates of strawberries and whipped cream. We arrived, ready to order… four desserts and coffees. Nothing out of the ordinary, at the end of service, you know. And then… a surreal scene. The waiter—or rather, the one I assume was the owner—looked at us and told us, very seriously, that it wasn't possible to come "just for desserts" because, and I quote, "this is a restaurant." At the time, I honestly thought it was a joke. But no. According to him, if we wanted strawberries, we had to take a punnet… and go eat them somewhere else. Yes, really. Literally. Since when can't you sit down at the end of service and have four desserts and four drinks? Has that become some kind of revolutionary concept? The worst part: he brushed us off without a second thought, as if we were asking for something absurd. Honestly, between the nonexistent welcome and the completely illogical approach, you have to wonder if the goal is to drive customers away. I'm still shocked. And above all… stunned by such a level of ridiculousness.

14/04/2026: We went to Chez Gilda last Saturday and were absolutely thrilled. The restaurant is only open three evenings a week, so you should definitely arrive promptly at 7 pm to avoid a long wait. We had the famous Panisse Marseillaise, octopus salad, prawns, hummus, and fish. The octopus salad was especially delicious, a 12/10, and the other dishes were also excellent, perfectly seasoned and prepared. Plus, it was very reasonably priced, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual, right on the street, with warm weather and plenty of laughter and good conversation. We highly recommend this place.
