19/08/2026: Very good pizzas with generous toppings. However, the wait was very long for August 15th; you had to be patient. More than 10 phone calls (all ringing unanswered) before they finally deigned to pick up, and over an hour's wait. But August 15th in Royan is something else!

And the desserts are also very good.
We go there every summer during our stay in Royan.

25/09/2026: Very disappointed, the portions are really small. We ordered three fish fritters as a starter, which we thought was meant to accompany our aperitif 😏. As for the main course, it was good, but the fish was tiny and there were hardly any vegetables.

Located at 100 Boulevard de Lattre de Tassigny in Royan, L’Avocette offers refined cuisine in a contemporary setting.
The non-alcoholic "Pomme d’Api" cocktail is subtle yet pleasant. The confit chicken gizzard fritters were excellent, and the duck leg was tender, melt-in-your-mouth, and served with a flavorful sauce.
For dessert, the "light chocolate, raspberry, and almond crunch" beautifully showcases its two main flavors. The dishes are presented with particular care.
The Escapade menu offers good value for money.
The staff is polite, friendly, and welcoming.
The restaurant also boasts a large terrace, despite its location at a busy intersection.

16/09/2026: Simply good and generous, just the way we like it. With the traditional flavors of the place, a feast for the senses 🥰
09/09/2026: This is definitely not the burger place to go!! The fries were overcooked and cold, the maxi burger/goat cheese was cold even though it was made to order, and there were no customers waiting...what a disappointment!
And to be clear: I ordered takeout and ate it immediately in front of the port, after only a 2-minute walk, which is all the more reason why both the fries and the burger should still have been hot!

26/09/2026: The ice cream was very good quality, as usual. However, this is the second time the waitresses have been unfriendly, and to top it off, at 6:30 pm they were out of milkshakes because the machine had already been cleaned for closing time at 7 pm.
What a shame to travel so far to eat Lopez ice cream in these conditions…
20/09/2026: Sure, your ice creams are good, but that's no reason (in addition to the prices charged) to be so unpleasant and unsmiling on a Sunday in the Royan shop.

27/08/2026: Booked twice in the same week for dinner (once for 4 people, once for 5). The first time was fine, but the second time we didn't find the welcome warm. We were even told we were a little late and that this was a problem because there was another seating after us. Five minutes late and a big dilemma: we skipped dessert to avoid lingering too long. Profit, profit. I live in Vaux, but I don't know if I'll be back.

24/09/2026: A pleasant setting overlooking the water. Unpretentious but enjoyable. I do slightly regret the orientation of the tables. When dining for two, one person has their back to the view, which is a shame. As for the food, the salmon salad was simple and the saltimbocca was good but nothing special; it felt a bit rushed. The fresh sage was a nice touch. The menu still makes me want to return.
22/09/2026: Group of 8. Plans booked in advance. Pleasantly surprised by the value for money. Very friendly staff. We ordered a sharing platter with top-notch charcuterie for the starter. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I gave 4 out of 5 stars solely for the food because I found my beef tartare a little bland, but the meat itself was very good, with chunks of meat and not minced steak. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

10/10/2026: We were looking for a restaurant that evening where we could be served quickly. The wall next to our table was dirty, with quite a few cobwebs, wires sticking out everywhere, and a lot of gnats too. We also noticed damp patches on the ceiling above the bar… which didn't exactly make us want to stay… In the end, the service was quick and very good, and the staff were very friendly. We ate very well; it was delicious.
02/10/2026: I ordered a "Montagnarde" pizza. It was supposed to have cheese and bacon, but since I can't stand the taste of bacon, they replaced it with smoked ham.
My pizza was absolutely delicious. Since I couldn't finish it, they put it in a pizza box for me to take home.
I highly recommend this place! 😊👍🏼

04/06/2026: A truly delightful experience and an excellent meal; no matter the dish, it was a treat. The quality and price are well-deserved because, in addition to the excellent food, there's also the exceptional service, with polite, kind, smiling, and humorous communication. I highly recommend Le Chiquito.
