18/08/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we chose (perfectly cooked, and the wood-fired grill flavor was sublime). We also discovered a wine we hadn't tried before (the rib-eye steak was a wonderful discovery! 🤩). This was our first time at this restaurant, and the welcome was excellent. The owner was very kind, even though we had a late reservation and arrived later than expected! A great find!

25/06/2026: We arrived at the restaurant and were barely greeted. The waitress seated us at a table right next to a table for 15 people, even though there was plenty of room further down the room. She immediately asked us what we wanted to eat and drink, without giving us a menu. The cook finally brought it to us hurriedly, apologizing to the waitress. She didn't even give us time to look at the menu; she just stood there next to the table asking what we wanted to eat. She didn't know the drinks. "Do you have any beer?" "Yes, but I can't remember which one." I saw a salad for €7 on the menu, in the "Our Starters" column (on the left side of the menu). I asked my partner if she wanted to share an appetizer with me, but the waitress cut me off, saying, "No, that's actually a main course." Okay, fine, I asked my partner anyway if she wanted to share it, and then I was cut off again, saying, "No, that's not an appetizer, you can't." So we chose a main course on the fly, since she was just standing there staring at us. It was a hot evening, and I saw a salmon fillet at the bottom of the menu with a snowflake emoji next to it. I figured it was a fresh, uncooked salmon fillet, perfect for the heat. We were served: the salmon fillet was cooked and indeed piping hot, which was odd about the snowflake. I started eating, the first bite had a strange taste, so I turned the fillet over: the skin was completely burnt. I like the skin, but it was impossible to eat. In short, the waitress was really unpleasant, with no tact or customer service skills. Not knowing the menu is really unprofessional, especially since, according to reviews from four years ago, this was already the case. The food should be good when it's meat; but my salmon wasn't up to par. Our experience is certainly not representative of the restaurant's overall quality, but it left much to be desired...

18/08/2026: While passing through Angoulême, we stumbled upon this restaurant which was a real treat! Superb food and the menus were more than generous considering the size of the place, it was excellent!

15/05/2026: The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The coffees are so delicious! And the pastries are excellent too! I highly recommend this café! Excellent value for money!

10/08/2026: I'm sorry I had to remove a star because the servers are incredibly kind and welcoming, the pastries are delicious, and the decor is lovely. The reason I'm taking away a star is that no one dares to reprimand the inconsiderate people who think they can get away with anything... This is the second time I've been here, and both times I've encountered this woman on a video call with her daughter, with the volume at full blast. We could hear the entire conversation, and she was shouting. No one came to tell her to turn it down. We had to go outside to find some peace and quiet.

10/08/2026: I come here often and I wanted to give a shout-out to Clément because he's very friendly, kind, and polite. A very good salesperson. Thank you to him for making our time enjoying a delicious pastry.

28/08/2026: Avoid at all costs. It seems that if you wear a headscarf, you don't have the right to be treated like everyone else.

25/08/2026: A very disappointing experience. The service was catastrophic: things were forgotten, and on top of that, the dishes arrived one after the other (with a VERY LONG delay). As for the food: the burgers were okay, but for the rest, and without exaggerating, we had a terrible pizza (with a crust that was more like salt dough than pizza dough), a truly awful taste... I couldn't even understand how it was possible. The salads were overpriced for ridiculously small portions. The Caesar salad deserves a gold medal at €18 for three pieces of chicken and a kilo of lettuce swimming in a liquid that was clearly a very greasy, industrial dressing. It's easy to see why the city closed the street to cars: it's the only way to trap customers.

26/11/2025: Wandering the narrow streets looking for a restaurant, I stopped and found a table at this small, simple but charming establishment. We ate in the vaulted dining room on the lower level. The service was very efficient. A very good meal. Kudos to the chef and his team.

07/08/2026: We came for lunch as a group of six, including two teenagers and our dog, and we had a wonderful time. We received a very warm welcome: the entire team was professional, friendly, and attentive. The menu showcases seasonal and local produce, which is truly evident in every dish. Everything was delicious, with flavorful and well-prepared meals. The value for money is excellent. The lovely view of the Charente River is a real bonus and makes the experience even more enjoyable. A big thank you to the whole team for your hospitality and this delightful culinary experience. We will gladly return!

11/07/2026: I'd love to go there, but unfortunately, someone who works there, who lives below me, is awful to the neighbors and therefore probably to the staff. Even though she's retired, she continues to be awful.

29/04/2026: I went home feeling sick. I sat down, exhausted. I went back outside, feeling refreshed and invincible. Was it the quality of the food? The owner's kindness? I don't know. But what's certain is that this kind of restaurant should be covered by health insurance.
