I would have preferred a more understated and refined decor, reflecting the flavors and presentation of the dishes. Nevertheless, all the ingredients are there for a pleasant time with family or friends.

18/10/2025: We were looking for a small bistro to take a break on the way to our vacation. We came across this place and we recommend it 150%. Family atmosphere and very friendly staff. Very good homemade cakes. I recommend it. 🥰

Nothing to complain about The price of drinks, particularly wine, is rather steep. It seems to be the trendy restaurant in Vichy. 08/11/2025: A nice little bar/restaurant with exceptional decor featuring old advertising signs, a slot machine, a jukebox, a virtual phone, antique engravings, and a superb photo of the Arc de Triomphe with a beautiful vintage red Citroën DS in front of it. The food was good, but we could have easily eaten more. The service was friendly and pleasant. Regarding payment, if you wish to pay with holiday vouchers, only half the bill is charged.

10/10/2025: It's expensive for what it is! €42 for a starter, a main course, a syrup, and a coffee. The starter is nothing to complain about, but the beef fillet (a bit questionable) is hidden under a thick layer of onions and mushrooms. It's a shame, the kitchen doesn't seem to lack technique (as evidenced by the pretty carrot rose). The magnificent setting and acceptable service save the experience.

03/07/2025: We were staying locally for the night and desperate to find somewhere to eat after a long day. We were delighted that we found this restaurant. Fabulous food and really reasonably priced for the Auvergne. We ended up chatting to the Greek chef, and his French wife, who both have extensive experience. They are both lovely, and we wish them well with their enterprise. We will be looking for an excuse to come back this way again! Highly recommend.

05/12/2025: As a sales representative, I'm often away on business and staying in hotels. I can assure you that the Midland Hotel is a fantastic establishment, both for its stunning setting (incredible architecture) and its staff: the manager and his brother in the kitchen make a wonderful team, with customer satisfaction at the heart of their work. And what can I say about the meals and breakfast? I've never seen anything like it in terms of presentation and selection: incredible. Congratulations to them!
