24/05/2026: We came despite the 3.9 rating... Somewhat disappointed... I asked to change the sauce (described as "on the side") because I didn't like the one they had planned, and they asked for an extra charge, even though I would have been happy to use the sauce from another dish on the menu, so without any extra effort... For a very elegant restaurant/brasserie, which I suppose aims for a certain level of prestige, I found that a bit petty and lacking in class... Personally, since I didn't order any sauce, I didn't ask for a discount! Finally, the refinement of the cuisine doesn't match the prices, which, while not excessive, suggest a bit more effort. You get the feeling the establishment is complacent and not trying to attract new customers. We each ordered one dish; it was good, but nothing special. On the other hand, the service was very pleasant, professional, and friendly, up to standard, the terrace was shaded, and despite the cars, it remained relatively quiet. Then again, it was a Sunday... Ultimately, the rating is justified.

03/06/2026: Stunning restaurants, we managed to book last minute without reviewing its reputation and we were blown away, the atmosphere is cosy and inviting, the service was second to none and the food outstanding. The owner and chef came out to have a chat with us adding to the friendliness of the whole experience.

28/02/2026: There were three of us, and we had booked well in advance for this experience in this historic setting. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table for two in a corner of the room. It was difficult to sit down. My son, who is 1.85 meters tall, had to eat at an angle. I find it unacceptable to spend over 200 euros for this kind of comfort, even if the food was very good.

27/02/2026: The sauerkraut with three types of fish is excellent and very generous. I highly recommend this dish. However, the staff's welcome and service were mediocre. There was no explanation of the different types of fish, and the dishes were simply placed on the table without any comment. The least they could have done was wish us a pleasant meal!

05/05/2026: We first learned about it through our travel guide and were looking forward to enjoying regional cuisine...in my opinion, a must-do when you're on vacation. So we booked a table for two the day before. When we arrived today, we were relegated to a tiny table in the back... mind you, we had reserved a table in advance... the restaurant was barely occupied when we arrived and when we left... there was an empty table for two at the front when we arrived and still was when we left... that already annoyed me... then the server (I think it was the owner) was more than unfriendly... The advertised ham with fried potatoes and gratinated Munster cheese looked very appealing... after we initially received one portion for two because he didn't listen properly to our order, we had to wait for the second portion... I wouldn't have made a big deal about that... but: the fried potatoes were soggy, so not freshly prepared but obviously reheated... but the worst part was, no onions or bacon bits, let alone any seasoning... as I'm a passionate cook myself, that was a real slap in the face... the ham was ice cold; a little warming would have been nicer... unfortunately, the highlight of this meal was the gratinated Munster cheese, and it just... A great aroma without any effort... Conclusion: unfortunately, after a disappointing evening, I cannot agree with the advance praise... I wouldn't visit it again...

18/05/2026: **An incredible meal!** The Baeckeoffe is simply exceptional, cooked to perfection and rich in traditional flavors. Warm service and a friendly atmosphere; I highly recommend it.

Kudos to the chef for these wonderful creations that leave you wanting more! We recommend it 100%. 20/03/2026: A very good restaurant where you always receive a warm welcome. The quality of the dishes is excellent, with carefully prepared and flavorful ingredients. Special mention goes to the menu, which changes with the seasons—a real plus! Without a doubt, one of the best value-for-money options in the area.

22/04/2026: This restaurant offers well-prepared dishes and very friendly service. Everything is homemade, so there's a chance that a particular dish might not be available as a daily special. Reservations for lunch are highly recommended.

18/04/2026: I thought I'd already eaten sauerkraut before going to this restaurant… but no! It was the first time I'd ever had REAL sauerkraut, with cabbage cooked in Riesling and a mild mustard on the side (not Dijon mustard, then)… the staff really took great care of their customers. Traditional, home-style cooking… a world away from tourist traps.

12/04/2026: This is a hidden gem downtown Strasbourg. It’s better to book the table, but we were lucky with walk-in. Food is traditional, homemade a tastes great.

24/05/2026: Simple and efficient for lunch. There's a terrace, which is great in the summer. We had salads and flammekueche, and they were good.

24/05/2026: The restaurant is located in the romantic part of Grand Île, in Petite France. During yesterday's visit, one waiter (tall, slim, between 25 and 40) stood out negatively by constantly snapping at his colleagues to hurry up, while he himself was constantly rushing around, creating a very unpleasant and nervous atmosphere. While serving quickly is certainly possible, this was completely excessive. The young woman who served us was very nice, and we felt a bit sorry for her because she was constantly being snapped at by the aforementioned waiter in front of the other guests. Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the crème fraîche on the tarte flambée this time either, so I didn't eat about 80% of it. I had tarte flambée there two years ago, and I enjoyed it then. Based on my recent visit, I wouldn't go back because of the hectic atmosphere and the poor taste of the food.

13/06/2026: Lovely outdoor terrace. I stopped for a beer. Friendly service. €5 for a raspberry Kasteel during Happy Hour. It was excellent. Didn't try the food.

12/06/2026: I received a very warm welcome for lunch; I recommend the vol-au-vent, which was excellent.
