01/02/2026: A lovely evening at this restaurant. We enjoyed the warm and friendly welcome and service, the onion soup, the sauerkraut, the chocolate mousse, and the Pinot Gris 👌 an excellent, typical meal. Go without hesitation!

25/01/2026: The staff were incredibly lovely, helpful, and gave us invaluable advice and the warmest of welcomes! The food was delicious!! A subtle blend of tradition and modernity! The salads offered a variety of excellent flavors, and the meat was of impeccable quality. The vanilla ice cream for dessert was also a delight, with an authentic homemade gelato taste! The homemade chocolate mousse was also delicious, perfect for chocolate lovers. It's a restaurant I'll gladly return to! And thank you for introducing us to the cozy bar :)

25/01/2026: Not very friendly behavior: I ordered a coffee at 3 pm, and as soon as I finished it, 15 minutes later the waitress came back to me. I told her I'd order a second one later. An hour later, I went to order another one when a new, punkish waitress accosted me, telling me it was unacceptable to "enjoy the terrace" and that I needed to find another place to sit. The terrace was empty, so I went to get my coffee somewhere else.

18/01/2026: A truly wonderful experience! This is a must-visit in Strasbourg if you're looking for a delicious meal, plus the view of the cathedral is exceptional.

30/12/2025: Excellent service! The owner went to great lengths to explain the menu to us in German. A lovely, welcoming atmosphere.

26/08/2025: I regularly try Verrine et Vapeur's dishes via orders through the Hoplunch app. Every time, I enjoy myself and God knows I'm not a fan of prepared meals but it's easier on days at the office! Being particularly demanding about the quality of my meals, I find myself fully at their place. Always a vegetable with the dish, a feeling of real homemade food, quality raw materials and really top-notch cooking despite final reheating in the microwave. Not to mention authentic and mastered seasoning, without too much salt but with pepper and herbs. An example today: spaghetti with creamy sauce, salmon steak, roasted cherry tomatoes. Everything is perfect! Thank you for your efforts and the quality/price ratio, it's becoming so rare!!!

18/11/2025: Superb performance by Jim Kahr, an exceptional bluesman! I can't say the same for the abominable food served that evening. A disaster sold at exorbitant prices. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I can't believe a real chef served us this horrible concoction, but the prices were exorbitant, and the owner waited for you and forced you to pay before the end of the evening. I've never seen anything like it! Avoid at all costs, and never mind the music!

13/01/2026: Excellent cuisine, the dishes are superb. The welcome and service are very professional. I highly recommend it! A second vegetarian option would be welcome, however.

10/01/2026: What a treat! The dishes were made with love, and the blend of flavors was sometimes surprising, but always perfectly complemented by the fresh ingredients. Our meal was a true delight. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful, relaxing evening of fine dining.

01/02/2026: I tried a second time, and was disappointed again! Microwaved roast potatoes, poor quality ham, and outrageous prices! For me, Coucou des Bois is FINISHED!!!

06/02/2026: Great restaurant!! We were in Strasbourg for a doctor's appointment and didn't have much time either time we came, but we were served super quickly and it was really, really good 😁

01/02/2026: A typical Alsatian spot, the ham hock with Picon was really quite good. Traditional cuisine; a few dishes are missing from the menu, but it does the job. There were 18 of us, and the service was efficient, which is worth noting.

31/01/2026: The portion sizes need improvement… The tarte flambée is disappointing if it's not wood-fired. The chocolate mousse is more whipped cream than chocolate. A shame. The service was impeccable; the waiter was attentive, kind, and efficient.

22/02/2026: Very good experience. I arrived early to avoid crowds. By the time I finished my 2 course lunch, the place had totally filled up. Having lived in France as a child, I experienced the similar tastes I had craved for and could never find elsewhere. Especially in a dish like tripes à la mode de Caen. Well done. And priced honestly. Overall very pleased.

22/02/2026: We visited the restaurant on a recommendation. It was fully booked, but despite that, we didn't have to wait long. Our order was taken quickly and served within 15 minutes. We didn't order anything we were advised not to order. The only thing we didn't really like was the escargot. What we did order was very tasty. The dishes are simple but very tasty. And the prices are quite reasonable. I highly recommend it.
