02/09/2026: A wonderful discovery: this cheese shop in Sarlat-la-Canéda, right next to Maison Lissajoux. We started by buying several loaves of bread at Maison Lissajoux: a blueberry loaf, a cranberry and anise loaf, a rye loaf, and a darker loaf with black poppy seeds. The bakery owner had suggested various cheese pairings and highly recommended this neighboring shop. So we followed his advice and came here to buy some cheeses to take away for our dinner, and frankly, we weren't disappointed. We received a very warm welcome and, above all, excellent advice. We were looking to choose several different cheeses to pair with the breads we had just bought, and the person who served us really took the time to guide us according to our tastes, the intensity of the cheeses, and the different types of bread. We chose, in particular, aged Cabécou, sheep's cheese, Langres, and Tomme, with varying textures and intensities. The products were very well selected, and the advice was precise, helpful, and truly professional. We also greatly appreciated that, when cutting the cheeses, he spontaneously indicated when he thought the quantity was sufficient. He wasn't trying to sell us more than necessary, but rather helping us create a cohesive selection. This is the kind of honest and attentive advice that we truly value. The pairings with Maison Lissajous' breads were particularly successful: Rocamadour with the blueberry bread, sheep's cheese and Tomme with the cranberry and anise bread, and the more intense cheeses like Langres with the darker poppy seed bread. So we ordered everything to go, planning a simple dinner of good bread, cheese, and a glass of Cahors wine. We started eating near Rocamadour, but a thunderstorm eventually forced us to head back to the hotel and finish our meal at our leisure. In the end, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience: excellent products, a fine selection of cheeses, helpful advice, a warm welcome, and very professional service. An excellent place in Sarlat to buy good cheeses to take away, and a perfect complement to Maison Lissajoux right next door.

27/08/2026: A truly hidden jewel in Sarlat! Incredible food (fresh cheeses & meats), very friendly & helpful service! Amazingly low price for the quantity & quality!!! We like it so much we returned the next morning for breakfast :-) Will definitely go again if we are ever in the city!

07/09/2026: We had lunch today and it was delicious. The waitresses who served us were very friendly, the meal was good (we tried both options on the menu), and the setting is charming. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, away from the hustle and bustle of the main square.

25/08/2026: The food was good, homemade, very good. However, they overcharged us for a full menu when it was only half a menu due to a misunderstanding with the reservation made three weeks in advance. They could have given us a discount, but they didn't.

24/08/2026: Another tourist trap. Outrageous prices: €21 for two slices of tasteless foie gras, €26 for a small (and not fatty) duck leg and some stale Sarlat-style pasta, and of course, mediocre wines sold as vintages for between €27 and €45. Even the terrace lighting is terrible. It's illuminated by the city streetlights. I'LL NEVER GO BACK.

10/09/2026: Very expensive pizzas for what you get... I've had better, better-made, and cheaper ones in Sarlat. When you go to Antoine's pizzeria, you expect better than a supermarket pizza. Avoid at all costs.

21/08/2026: A truly beautiful establishment that generally lives up to its reputation! The cuisine is of very high quality, featuring local dishes and products (foie gras, duck breast, duck confit, cassoulet, walnut cake, ratafia, walnut wine, etc.). The icing on the cake was the wonderful surprise at the end of the meal and the visit to the small cave within the restaurant. Why "generally"? Because the waiter, despite his undeniable skill and great efficiency, is perhaps a little too much so. Everyone understands that with the crowds, they have to be quick to avoid frustrating potential customers waiting their turn, but they should be careful not to be too quick. A waiter can certainly be efficient in their actions, but they shouldn't display it so much in their speech, with a rapid-fire delivery that gives the impression of wanting to rush customers, even though I suspect that's not his intention, despite him acknowledging that the meal should be completed in 40 minutes. In summary, a magnificent establishment in the historic heart of the city of Sarlat with very high quality cuisine, true to its fine reputation and which we obviously recommend.

25/08/2026: Very disappointed. We booked a table for 12:45 PM. We arrived on time, but our table had already been given away. The waitress asked us to wait. 20 minutes later, we were seated. The non-alcoholic piña colada cocktail was not very good. The cassoulet needs improvement; it was probably made with canned beans. The beans were hard. There was no enjoyment whatsoever, even though we finished our plates (I don't pay to throw food away). The children's menu was overpriced for what it was: two chicken tenders and a tub of ice cream from a store-bought container for €13. They didn't even offer any compensation for the wait. Offering the only coffee we ordered would have been a nice touch. In short, I advise you to avoid this place; for the same price, there must be much better options. One thing is for sure: I will never return.

23/08/2026: The food was good, but not homemade with "good" ingredients. The waitresses shouted and smoked in front of the customers; their uniforms weren't appropriate, which was a bit of a letdown. It's a good restaurant, but the attitude and professionalism were lacking!
