08/08/2026: We came on August 3rd, two couples. What a pleasant surprise! We were looking for a restaurant open at 2 pm in Sarlat: warm and attentive service, and good value for money. We ate very well, and the staff was lovely. Well done! I highly recommend it.

The terrace/garden is really lovely, a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the town center.

25/08/2026: The food was good, homemade, very good. However, they overcharged us for a full menu when it was only half a menu due to a misunderstanding with the reservation made three weeks in advance. They could have given us a discount, but they didn't.

24/08/2026: Another tourist trap. Outrageous prices: €21 for two slices of tasteless foie gras, €26 for a small (and not fatty) duck leg and some stale Sarlat-style pasta, and of course, mediocre wines sold as vintages for between €27 and €45. Even the terrace lighting is terrible. It's illuminated by the city streetlights. I'LL NEVER GO BACK.

21/08/2026: A truly beautiful establishment that generally lives up to its reputation! The cuisine is of very high quality, featuring local dishes and products (foie gras, duck breast, duck confit, cassoulet, walnut cake, ratafia, walnut wine, etc.). The icing on the cake was the wonderful surprise at the end of the meal and the visit to the small cave within the restaurant. Why "generally"? Because the waiter, despite his undeniable skill and great efficiency, is perhaps a little too much so. Everyone understands that with the crowds, they have to be quick to avoid frustrating potential customers waiting their turn, but they should be careful not to be too quick. A waiter can certainly be efficient in their actions, but they shouldn't display it so much in their speech, with a rapid-fire delivery that gives the impression of wanting to rush customers, even though I suspect that's not his intention, despite him acknowledging that the meal should be completed in 40 minutes. In summary, a magnificent establishment in the historic heart of the city of Sarlat with very high quality cuisine, true to its fine reputation and which we obviously recommend.

07/08/2026: We wanted to try this restaurant, and unfortunately, we don't agree with the other glowing reviews. The welcome was indeed friendly, but the meal was really disappointing. My son ordered the €25.50 set menu, in which the fries were really subpar. They were nowhere near as good as fresh fries. His dessert was also very basic. We also ordered two burgers with the same type of fries. We weren't asked how we wanted our steaks cooked... They were also far from a butcher's steak; the thickness was the same as what you get in fast food restaurants. My wife didn't like the signature Sarlat burger, and the cheese used wasn't the one listed on the menu. I ordered the Périgord salad, and it wasn't any better. The foie gras was too salty. As for the service, it was indeed fast, as often mentioned in other reviews, and that was to ensure a second seating! We were told to arrive at 6:30 pm. This way of doing things is really unpleasant, even if we understand they need to make money (for your information, I made the same kind of comment at Pierre Etchebest's restaurant).... Following this, we preferred to stop at the main course and not have dessert because we would have been disappointed for sure. We had it elsewhere and that cheered us up.

23/08/2026: The food was good value for money, though nothing exceptional. They have reasonably priced set menus. In our case, the staff didn't take our order (in writing). This, combined with them mistakenly bringing us a dish from another table, led to the staff giving us dirty looks on several occasions. I understand the confusion, but it wasn't our fault in any of the cases, and they can save their dirty looks for when they're not around. It's true that they didn't charge us for these mistakes, which is something that happens in other places. Finally, and I think due to the errors and confusion, the desserts and the bill took a very long time. Overall, a bad experience. I wouldn't go back even if they paid the bill.
