26/04/2026: Tonight, we tried the cuisine at the Hôtel de France for the first time. I wanted to take my wife because it had been a long time since we'd been able to spend some time alone together without the children. I was looking for a place, a moment, an atmosphere that felt like us. I found everything I was looking for there. A luxurious setting, but not overly so, a simple and pleasant interaction with everyone—from reception to service and the kitchen staff—a special moment that felt like home, like the Southwest of France. This "home" I'm talking about is even reflected in the food, the aroma, the flavor of a chicken and pea broth, just like when I was a child at my parents' house. Back then, during the chore of harvesting peas, the only joy for that little boy was eating a few peas from a burst pod and the leftover chicken broth from the previous day, seasoned with vermicelli, at lunchtime. The surprising taste of red mullet with a duck jus was a delightful surprise. And what about the quail, served with a variety of sauces, purée, basil emulsion, small mushrooms, onions, and more? In short, I'll stop listing all the dishes. The conclusion of this review is simple: thank you to the entire team at the Hôtel de France for this wonderful experience. See you soon.

29/07/2026: We asked to be seated at lunchtime, hoping to escape the heatwave that has persisted for several weeks, but the temperature inside was almost 31 degrees Celsius! With a baby, it was difficult to enjoy the moment! What a shame! We had hoped to appreciate simple cuisine made with good ingredients, pleasant service, and a lovely dining room! We suggested perhaps adding at least two fans for the comfort of the customers, but the response was, to say the least, surprising! Namely: "It's hot for everyone, and it's an investment!" Okay, okay... The kind of response that doesn't exactly encourage you to return! If you're hoping to enjoy a nice, cool lunch in the summer, or at least in acceptable conditions, think again!

05/05/2026: Really good menu de jour at 20€ which included foie gras (+3€) and seared tuna. Very correct cooking. Good wine list.

25/08/2026: A quick lunch break on the road. We were short on time. We arrived late for our reservation and asked to be served quickly as we needed to leave as soon as possible. Which is exactly what restaurant owners generally dislike and... will point out... more or less politely. Well, here, it was the complete opposite, no problem at all, and with a smile to boot! 😎 What's more, the dishes (homemade lasagna) and the dessert (apricot clafoutis) were all excellent. All this in a pleasant setting, on the terrace. Perfect service. No fuss, just relaxed 😎. In short, the "Gers" spirit 😜

12/09/2026: This restaurant was suggested to us as part of a "discovery of the town of Lectoure" day trip. Unfortunately, it's not equipped to comfortably accommodate a group of 60 people. We were seated in a separate room (which turned out to be very noisy), and we were very cramped (four people at a table for two, all pushed together). So cramped, in fact, that the servers couldn't move between the tables and had to pass our plates to the front of the table so we could pass them to the other end. It's worth noting that we are a group of seniors with silver hair, and it was particularly difficult to find a seat, and even more so to move around if we needed to leave the table during the meal. The air conditioning didn't seem to be working; luckily, the windows weren't blocked like ours. Seated near the kitchen entrance, we could see the young employees plating the dishes without gloves. The service was haphazard; we were asked to keep our cutlery on for dessert... We were served very overcooked green beans, practically burnt, completely black. The rest of the meal was acceptable, but it won't be a memorable experience.

06/09/2026: First time for us. Very pretty and pleasant place. We were served by Valou; we asked for her name because she was fantastic and had a lovely smile throughout our meal. She was everywhere, unlike the two young men who weren't very lively or friendly. The foie gras was delicious, as was the flank steak and potatoes. Kudos to the chefs!

06/06/2026: I didn't try the rooms, but the restaurant is not worthy of a 3-star rating. The set menu consisted of a piece of pork loin with undercooked potatoes, a disgusting strawberry tart, bread that was three days old, and when I asked for ice cream instead of chocolate mousse, I got a scoop of strawberry ice cream.

26/08/2026: New menu, higher prices, lower quality. The value for money wasn't great to begin with, but now it doesn't make me want to come back. So, it's not bad, but it's not really worth it anymore.

05/04/2026: We stumbled upon this place during a motorcycle ride. It's a small, unassuming restaurant, but you'd be wrong not to go in. The service was very pleasant and the welcome was excellent. We started with the roasted Camembert and the porcini mushroom omelet. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and they were delicious. For our main courses, we had pan-seared foie gras with dauphinoise potatoes and flank steak with shallots, also with dauphinoise potatoes. Again, only fresh, high-quality ingredients were used; the meat was very tender, the gratin was excellent, and the foie gras was incredibly delicious and melted in your mouth. We saw a negative review for this restaurant, and I think it's a mistake because nothing is frozen here. Everything is homemade with love. We recommend it 200%! Enjoy!

28/08/2026: We had a lovely time at the restaurant for our daughter's 18th birthday. The dining room was beautiful. We received a warm welcome, the food was delicious, and we thank our waiter Antoine for his professionalism. A wonderful discovery.

02/08/2026: Avoid at all costs!!! If you want to enjoy your room in the morning… The hotel isn't exactly new, but it does have a few things going for it to attract customers to an area with limited hotel options. However, breakfast ends at 9:30 am… so if you're looking for a romantic weekend getaway and want to take your time… this isn't the place for you! As for us, having taken this into account, we were woken up the next morning by the cleaning staff who acted like bouncers, waking us up at 10:15 am to make sure we weren't staying! A very unpleasant experience considering the beautiful region. We'll come back, but not to this hotel.

13/06/2026: We just spent three extraordinary weeks at the Hôtel du Commerce in Estang, and we will cherish the memories forever. A huge thank you to Yochen and Anneke, the owners, for their warm welcome, their kindness, their availability, and their constant attention. Thanks to them, we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Our congratulations also go to Émilie, the housekeeper, for her professionalism, her good humor, and the care she takes every day to ensure the comfort and cleanliness of the hotel. A big thank you to Didier, the head waiter, for his efficiency, his dedication to service, his friendliness, and his constant attention to the guests. The entire team contributes to creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that makes the stay particularly enjoyable. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a genuine welcome, quality service, and a warm ambiance. Thank you all for these three exceptional weeks. We will be back with great pleasure!

04/05/2026: An interesting and innovative culinary experience (menu), original but sometimes surprising. The waiter was a bit gruff and tense (as described in many reviews) but efficient, yet you get the impression you're bothering him... The chef/owner is lovely and comes out of the kitchen whenever he can to greet departing customers. Update from Thursday, April 30, 2026: We arrived at 8:07 PM for dinner. The restaurant door was locked, even though the website indicated it was open. There was no sign on the door. People were dining at a table (probably hotel guests). So we called to inquire: extremely unpleasant responses, with no explanation as to why it was closed. 40 km for nothing.

22/08/2026: We were very pleased with the service, food and drinks, and the location under the hall. Highly recommended!
