19/01/2026: The duck confit was extremely dry and therefore very bad. The music was too loud; we couldn't hear ourselves think. A very bad experience.

14/01/2026: Good rest but very, very slow service... 1 hour 45 minutes, maybe even 2 hours of waiting! Luckily the meal was good!

07/12/2025: A very warm welcome, a family atmosphere, even though it was busy, and the food was excellent... Everything is locally sourced, delicious couscous, perfectly cooked meats... Kudos to the chef! We were pleasantly surprised to see a dancer during our meal at an oriental-themed evening. We highly recommend it. Open the first Saturday evening of the month, as they are open every lunchtime, with a different international theme each time. We will gladly return.

18/11/2025: Inedible desserts: rice pudding without short-grain rice and undercooked, chocolate mousse as hard as concrete. Check the bill; the owner can't count. What a shame, it was very good with the previous owners. 1 star for the soup. Avoid at all costs…

17/12/2025: We had booked a table hoping for a delicious meal while passing through the region. We were very disappointed with the set menu: fries and green beans. When we ordered, they told us there were no more green beans. Fifteen minutes later, green beans appeared on their plates next to us – apparently, they were for VIPs. Furthermore, their red wine was poor. The service was terrible; they paid no attention to us whatsoever.

20/09/2025: A quick stop on the way to vacation. We were not disappointed. Fillets of duck breast with parsley and duck confit served with delicious sautéed potatoes. Super good. And the young woman who welcomed us was very friendly and efficiently managed the bar, the restaurant, and the terrace.

18/02/2026: I hadn't been back to Daroles for several years. The setting is still pleasant and the service lively and friendly. However, the food has declined considerably overall. Illustrating a loss of ambition, the perfect egg (a difficult feat) has become a deviled egg. A shame...

15/02/2026: I visited on February 15th, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered duck breast; the skin was crispy and the meat was tender. The potatoes on the side were also very fragrant; the waiter said they were locally grown. The older waiter was very friendly, spoke a little English, and was dressed very gentlemanly. Seeing me looking at their wine cellar, he opened it for me to tour and explain which wines were produced locally and which were from France. He also introduced me to the local specialty, Armagnac. Visited on 2/15. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the duck breast (Magret de Canard)—the skin was perfectly crispy while the meat remained tender and juicy. The side of potatoes was incredibly fragrant, and the waiter mentioned they are locally sourced. ​The service was outstanding. Our senior waiter was very professional, dressed like a true gentleman, and quite welcoming. He even spoke some English! Seeing my interest in their wine cellar, he kindly opened it up for a private tour. He explained which wines were produced in the nearby region versus other parts of France and gave me a great introduction to the local specialty, Armagnac. Highly recommended!

24/01/2026: A wonderful discovery! It was our first time trying their pizzas, and they were excellent. We ordered the Spanish, Royal, and Peasant pizzas—a real treat! The ingredients are high-quality and fresh, and you can tell from the first bite. I highly recommend them! 🍕✨

05/10/2025: We ate there today for the first time, the staff were very friendly, the mussels a la plancha were to die for, and the October pink menu was so good, eg then the fries were very very good. I recommend this bistro without hesitation.

06/12/2025: While passing through the Gers region, friends recommended the restaurant L’échappée belle. The reviews I had read seemed contradictory, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The €42 set menu was very well executed, and the service was quite attentive. We shared foie gras, and I had the confit cod with endives and walnuts: everything was delicious. The desserts were simple but effective. The chef was very friendly and came to ask about his customers' impressions. This is rare enough to be worth mentioning. Well done! We highly recommend this restaurant and will gladly return!

04/01/2026: Returning to this restaurant, we were very surprised by the à la carte prices: €24 for a butcher's cut served with overcooked, greasy fries straight from the vat, and the icing on the cake: a single frozen chocolate fondant, microwaved for €8 – a tourist trap!

20/01/2026: The hotel has been renovated and boasts a beautiful exterior. The rooms are classic but adequately equipped with a TV, hairdryer, and kettle (with tea, coffee, and sugar included). It's a shame the heating is a reversible air conditioner, as it's quite noisy at night. I had to turn it off completely, but even with the frost outside, I wasn't too cold in the morning. The breakfast service is very comprehensive, and the lunch and dinner meals are gourmet and therefore of good quality.

20/09/2025: Very beautiful private mansion, beautiful decoration, charming. But quite disappointed as soon as you head towards the rooms.

14/09/2025: Passing through for a weekend, the receptionist is not very welcoming and even unpleasant. The bathroom door does not close or open fully. For the private garage you have to pay 8 euros extra, as for the cafe 8 euros for both, it is really excessive. Swimming pool infested with wasps. This hotel really does not deserve 3 stars.
