20/08/2026: OK service, good wine, very good food. Let down by the slightly confusing “8 glasses of wine” deal to accompany the 8-course lunch. Wine poured with the bottle left on the table - only to discover that a (self-serve) top-up counts as another glass. Not explained until the end. Not the warmest of welcomes, with service a bit lukewarm throughout. But, the Quail in Sauce Bordelaise was exceptional. And a good selection of wine, by the glass!

02/09/2026: Had a simple Auberge menu Tourte. Simple but tasty soup, delicious Tourte salad, and delightful rhubarb tart for dessert. In short, highly recommended for value for money. Update 2026. The quality remains consistent here. Delicious.
30/08/2026: Beautifully situated, the terrace overlooks the historic farm garden with views towards the Rhine plain and the Black Forest. Superb service, everyone very friendly and dedicated, and the food is homemade and delicious, made with regional ingredients.

We had a pancake with mushrooms and escalope.
The escalope is great, a little salty. But delicious.
And the escalope is excellent.
Highly recommended.
Sit outside, enjoy the magical atmosphere of the place

More than just a meal, it was a true gastronomic journey through our environment, its plants and flavors, enhanced with great finesse and creativity.
A warm welcome and an authentic atmosphere made us feel wonderfully at ease.
A huge thank you to Jérôme Jaeglé and his entire team for this magnificent experience. We will return with great pleasure.

28/08/2026: After the climb up to explore the castle, it was time for us to eat. We finally stopped at 119!
Tom was incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire service!
The tarte flambée was to die for; this is definitely a place to add to your to-do list when visiting Kaysersberg 😊
24/08/2026: A very good restaurant that I've been to several times. The only downside is that there are wasps outside, so you have to be careful. The service is a bit slow. Clean.

27/08/2026: We chose this restaurant for its wide selection of flammekueches (or flammenkuchen) and its delicious traditional Alsatian specialties. The value for money is excellent. Furthermore, the staff is particularly attentive to customers and was very kind to our dog, who was perfectly welcome on the terrace.
24/08/2026: The apple strudel was very good, as was the latte macchiato. The outdoor seating is lovely, offering fantastic views in both directions of the beautiful half-timbered houses and the surrounding mountains. Highly recommended :-)

30/08/2026: We went to Au Lion d'Or with our motorcycle group to celebrate two birthdays, as the restaurant seemed promising based on the reviews. We each ordered the beef steak. When the food arrived, we couldn't believe our eyes. The meat looked like a cheap discount store steak and was full of sinew. Furthermore, the customer service was sorely lacking. We were fed up and will definitely not be eating there again.
30/08/2026: An upscale restaurant in a tourist town. The food tastes good, but not excellent. The schnitzel is not recommended (undercooked and rather overcooked). The desserts are all delicious.

05/09/2026: We were extremely disappointed with the food. There were four of us, and we ordered different dishes. The value for money was very poor. The bill was far too high for such a mediocre experience! We absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.
25/08/2026: We had booked dinner three days in advance, but upon arrival our reservation hadn't been honored.
The service was a bit disjointed.

27/09/2024: First, I want to share my experience about the service.
I’ve been to many places and restaurants in France, so I understand the French culture and service.
However, at this restaurant, the service from the lady with short blonde hair was really terrible, disappointing👎🏻 no smile, no welcome, and she lacked a service-minded attitude.
In contrast, the young man was friendly and smiling, which was appreciated.
The foie gras was great, but everything else was just okay, nothing special.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but if you’re looking for good service and a warm welcome, this restaurant is one to avoid☹️
20/09/2024: Die Begrüßung war schon ohne Augenkontakt, luststlos uns zu bedienen, die Wartezeiten zu den Bestellungen ewig lang, das Essen war gut, aber der Service eine Katastrophe. Wir haben nach dem Essen über 35 Minuten auf die Rechnung warten müssen. Insgesamt würde ich sagen, das die Inhaberin auf deutsche Gäste keine Lust hat. Wir sind in letzter Zeit viel in Frankreich unterwegs und haben viele nette Franzosen kennen gelernt, das hat uns einen Schritt zurück geworfen, schade.
