06/09/2026: Superb. Go here when you are in Alsace. Food: We ordered the vegetable tasting menu, which was, it appeared, the restaurant’s pearl / preferred offering. For good reasons. Each dish was creative but still refined. Flavors were familiar but elevated. For each of the ~8–10 courses, we received beautiful, composed plates. Nothing felt like it was trying to be a “meat substitute,” which we have found sometimes happens with veggie menus at other restaurants. There was no mushroom “steak,” for example. Rather, things were far more thoughtful. The tomato was at the center of our menu (made sense seasonally). As a highlight, one dish (“The umami flavour of tomatoes”) started with the server handing us a single raw cherry tomato from the restaurant’s own garden. That cherry tomato was so simple and perfect; followed by a beautiful sweet tomato crème caramel dish that was so playful and unique, rich and decadent. Our favorite plate of the evening was another tomato (“Tomato & sun vegetables”), this time dehydrated, then-rehydrated and stuffed with seasonal veggies, swimming in a deep, umami jus. Really special. More detailed descriptions in the photos. The amount of food was just right. We left more than satisfied / full but not sickeningly so, given the somewhat lighter preparations of many dishes. Though, one would not call the meal “light,” especially later courses, which often came dressed with weightier vegetable reductions. Decidedly not meat- or cream-based accompaniments, but not thin veggie water either. The bread, which came with a vegetal and pleasant fig leaf compound butter, was a nice companion for any excess sauce. We felt it was a surprisingly great value for the meal (again, not always the case for veggie menus). Service: The service team was excellent. Professional and tidy, without sacrificing warmth. Not stiff or stuffy. They seemed proud—and almost excited—about the products on each plate they placed. Two people primarily served us—a younger man and a younger blonde woman. Both were so inviting, helpful, knowledgeable, kind, etc. They presented a high level of service (in both English and French) without pretension. The chef also visiting each table to chat. The pacing of the meal was also notably strong. Anne, the sommelier, has been recognized internationally. Appropriately so. The pairings were creative, not boring or safe, the latter of which, again, is something we have experienced with veggie tastings elsewhere. She clearly has not only such a deep knowledge but also an appreciation and love for the local terroir. That showed in the choices and the massive list she curated. Atmosphere: Definitely unique. The red walls combined with the centuries-old woodwork transports you to something. Not sure what exactly. But I did not feel like I was in a sleepy French village in 2026. Much like the cuisine, the atmosphere was creative, playful, unique, and curious but also curated, elegant, beautiful, and special. Just enough outside the ordinary to raise an eyebrow. But, like the food, as soon as you take a bite, the questions stop and it all seems to work. Kind of magical. This restaurant is absolutely wonderful and worthy of all praise and then some. They are doing something different at La Table du Gourmet, and it is working. They showcase great local products in a creative way and a warm but refined setting, providing diners a sense of place and suspending the outside world for a few hours. Please just go.

22/09/2026: We remember that evening at Au Trotthus with a certain affection—and at the same time with that quiet reserve that arises when an experience, while harmonious, wasn't entirely convincing. Days before, we had discovered the restaurant on a side street, almost hidden away, nearly at the end of the small alley. It was precisely this unassuming nature that immediately appealed to us, and we made a reservation without hesitation. On September 14, 2026, we received an exceptionally warm welcome and were allowed to choose the most beautiful table from the available ones. It had caught our eye the first time we walked by: right at the back, where the building's most massive beams radiate their centuries-old tranquility. A place with character, warm and inviting. The drinks arrived promptly, and we had ample time to put together our dinner. The restaurant serves traditional cuisine, so we opted for a true Alsatian evening. Maultaschen de Pois, Salade de Choucroute, and – a first for both of us – Parmentier d’effiloché de Bœuf d’Alsace. The crème brûlée for dessert was only manageable for my wife; my starter was practically a main course, and together with the main course, it was simply too much. The plates were attractively presented, the food solid, but generally rather under-seasoned, and overall too bland. The ambiance, on the other hand, was pleasant, the restaurant charming, and we felt comfortable. Ultimately, however, the lavish meal remained a rather harmless, somewhat bland experience – friendly, comfortable, but lacking that little spark that makes an evening truly unforgettable.

04/10/2026: We were there for lunch today and, despite not having a reservation, received a warm welcome. The food, "Bibekeskas" and "Escalope de porc," was excellent, and the blueberry tart and vanilla ice cream for dessert were delicious. The service was exceptionally friendly, the Pinot Blanc was good, and our little dog was warmly welcomed. The price-performance ratio was good; a top spot in the center of Riquewhir... we'd gladly come back anytime, thank you very much and see you soon...😀

01/10/2026: We visited on a late September afternoon. The location is very nice; we ate outside. It was already late, so the kitchen was closed, but we were able to enjoy the cheese tongs. And a good Alsatian wine. The courtesy, cleanliness, and good food made the stop pleasant. Good value. The interior is very charming and traditional.

01/09/2026: A small restaurant located on one of the side streets of the town of Riquewhir, with a limited but very traditional and extremely good selection of dishes; you can tell everything is freshly prepared. The staff are friendly, speak English, and are eager to explain the ingredients of the dishes with a smile and passion. Even when we made our reservation by phone, we were greeted by a friendly young woman with good English. The alcoholic beverages were nothing short of praise; we drank two excellent beers and two glasses of local wine (Alsace), the name of which I regret not remembering because I would have bought a bottle available in the village. I highly recommend this place, especially for families, who are very welcome.

01/08/2026: Magnificent restaurant in Riquewihr!!! I highly recommend L’Écurie. This restaurant excels in every aspect one could expect from a good establishment. The service is impeccable; the waitresses are very kind, smiling, helpful, and offer excellent advice. The wine suggestions are interesting and stand out. I'm thinking in particular of the Chardonnay or the barrel-aged Riesling from Maison Dopff, wines that are less commonly found in Alsatian restaurants. The restaurant remains rooted in its local tradition with a menu of specialties: I highly recommend the green sauerkraut! L’Écurie offers sophisticated dishes, beautifully presented and expertly prepared, such as duck breast with cherries, or the daily special: a risotto with prawns and scallops. The entire service was carried out with great professionalism, and it was a very pleasant experience for our family. Thank you to the team for this wonderful time. Finally, the terrace and the restaurant's interior are beautifully decorated and have a very friendly atmosphere. Ultimately, you feel very comfortable there and have a wonderful time. I highly recommend it!

21/09/2026: A very pleasant surprise! I'm always a bit skeptical when it comes to finding a place to eat in Riquewihr, but while cycling, we stopped for a snack at the Crêperie du Vieux Pressoir and were very satisfied. The staff were welcoming, and we enjoyed the meal; the tarts were excellent.

27/09/2026: So I read the reviews and I think we must have gone to different restaurants. The old lady who greeted us was really unfriendly, and her daughter even less so. We waited almost half an hour before getting our order. The place itself is very beautiful, but the service needs improvement.
