Certainly one of the best restaurants in the regularity of its culinary offerings and excellent value for money 5 out of 5, to be rediscovered for gourmands and gourmets.... 😋🍴👌

24/08/2024: Never seen that. A creperie with the choice between just 2 pancakes (including one with andouilllette, you have to love it) and pork ribs. We had come to eat pancakes, so we had the complete with mushrooms and tomatoes. In terms of tomatoes, it's sauce in a can or tube, and the pancake must never have seen butter in its life. 3 salad leaves anyway, but with canteen vinaigrette. 14.5€ for this cake, it's hard to pass. We weren't by the sea to justify this price. In short, move on. I still give it 2 stars because the boss seemed nice.

04/09/2024: Les nostalgiques des bons films apprécieront ce restaurant accueillis par une patronne sympathique en passant devant la cuisine ouverte.J’y ai dégusté une excellente andouillette frites maison, un plat simple peut ravir les papilles en compagnie de Gabin, Coluche, Bourville, Blier, Charlot, de Funès, etc.
Une ambiance exotique bercée par le chant des oiseaux et le cri des animaux vous attend dans les sanitaires, messieurs gare au crocodile.
Prix abordable.
Je retiens cette adresse.

27/06/2024: I went there to taste their famous “pink latte” with beetroot...unluckily there were no more. Small disappointment which quickly turned into satisfaction when I was able to taste their peanut hot chocolate and their chocolate/hazelnut cake. And yes it was very chocolate...but very delicious!

The crêpes were however too dry and stuck to the plates. The location is convenient and the staff were polite and everything seemed clean and tidy. Average overall

The salespeople are very smiling and friendly. On the other hand, when it's the "boss", never a smile and borderline friendly.
It would be better to leave the sale to the sellers.

Spared you a very bad experience of a psychologically destabilizing boss who fires all the staff at the same time while there are plenty of customers since then who then makes you leave while you waited 1 hour and poor pancake.... it's time to close sir.

Pretty good pancakes and pancakes without being exceptional but the price is really very high for what it is.

I kindly ask the receptionist to bring me a beer.
I just spent 3 hours in front of my screen working.
They tell me they don't do room service.
Okay, I understand.
So I go down to the bar to pick her up, with a big smile.
The young man at the bar sets me on fire because I'm in a bathrobe and orders me to go back to my room.
“We’re not at the campsite, we’re at the hotel.”
I know and where is the service??, courtesy,???
To flee.
The staff should run a Kebab. Too bad for the place.

We have had lunch in Combourg at the restaurant several times now.
castle hotel. Beautiful view of the lake and the castle 🏰 at the entrance. Lovely Sunday meal and beautiful pieces from the butcher, a Sunday entrecôte with fries and a vinous Bordeaux wine which goes well with the dish. Mention the gourmet dessert. Coming back soon.

01/09/2024: Affordable prices, good sandwiches but the portions of the plates need to be reviewed.
When you take a plate means that you want to eat well since you pay more, however the steak plate that I ordered was empty and served without bread (contents of a sandwich emptied into the plate).
26/08/2024: It's not the 4th time I've come, I took 2 kebabs, I specified without raw vegetables both times and there was still some, I took 2 tacos, there was no cheese sauce and plus there were raw vegetables if I may, it's more hot wraps than tacos. Apart from that, the staff is super nice, which is why I took the trouble to come back.

17/08/2024: Nous sommes venus le 13 août pour prendre un verre en fin d’après-midi en terrasse. Nous étions 8. L’endroit est absolument exceptionnel et la vue magnifique mais malheureusement le service ne suit pas. Frites et papier par terre et nous avons dû demander à la serveuse de nettoyer la table. Quant au service, pas du tout à la hauteur d’un tel établissement. Nous avions commandé entre autre 2 mojitos et 1 virgin mojito. La serveuse ne savait pas lequel était sans alcool. Elle a commencé à sentir les cocktails et nous a demandé de faire de même puis de les goûter. 2 des cocktails étaient apparemment sans alcool. Lorsque nous l’avons signalé au barman il nous a été répondu qu’une dose supplémentaire d’alcool serait facturée. Il eut été plus simple de reprendre le verre et de préparer un autre cocktail car la serveuse avait certainement fait une erreur de commande. Dommage…

We chose Le Jardin de l'Abbaye for my husband's birthday dinner, trusting its listing in the Michelin Guide. The setting in Le Tronchet is beautiful, and the restaurant's décor is inviting. We eagerly ordered the tasting menu, anticipating a memorable evening. Chef Marie-Léa Coulon’s food indeed showed promise, but unfortunately, the service was nothing short of disastrous.
Fine dining is not just about the food; it's about the entire experience, where both the kitchen and service teams play crucial roles. In this case, the service team utterly failed. It was shocking to see such a stark contrast between the quality of the cuisine and the abysmal service. Imagine enjoying dishes of a fine dining caliber, only to have them served with the quality of service you'd expect at a fast-food chain. The staff provided no details about the dishes, practically dropped the plates on the table with a forced smile, and then disappeared.
Having dined in some of the best restaurants across Brittany—Le Saint Placide, Le Bistro de Cancale, L’Ermitage, Fleur de Sel, and Otonali—we have never encountered such low-quality service. If Chef Marie-Léa Coulon intends to sabotage her brilliant culinary efforts, she couldn’t have found a better team to do it. This experience has shattered our trust in Michelin Guide recommendations.
Fine dining is an art that encompasses both food and service, and sadly, this restaurant failed miserably on the latter. I would not recommend Le Jardin de l'Abbaye to anyone.
