26/01/2026: Extremely disappointing experience and a complete lack of professionalism. My husband had booked and planned a surprise Christmas night at the Hôtel Chicamour in Sury-au-Bois, in direct agreement with the manager. Everything had been organized in advance. Upon our arrival, the hotel was completely closed, with no one to greet us, and we had children and luggage. The manager was unreachable and didn't even bother to call back. Several days later, my husband had to follow up. The manager then provided incoherent and clearly false explanations, mentioning an employee who was supposed to be there, then his dismissal, promising to get back to us… which he never did. A month later, still no news. When we called again from another number, the story changed once more. No honesty, no taking of responsibility, no gesture of goodwill. This establishment hosts weddings and events: based on our experience, reliability is clearly lacking. A huge disappointment, especially for a family moment that was supposed to be exceptional.

22/01/2026: Absolutely unreliable. I wanted to surprise my wife and two children for Christmas, and I was sorely mistaken! After several attempts to contact the owner in early December, I booked a dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast for December 26th. Everything seemed fine. On the day, we entered the courtyard, and I happily announced to my family that we were going to spend the night at the castle. A few meters later, the surprise turned sour as we found the establishment... closed! I tried calling the owner several times at the time, but he never answered. We had to leave. On January 5th, I called the owner again, who feigned surprise and mentioned staffing problems. I told him to look into the situation and call me back. No response. On January 9th, I called him again, and he told me he had to meet with his "offending" employee that afternoon to fire him and that he would call me back that evening. No response... He then stopped answering my calls. I tried again on January 22nd, but to no avail. However, my wife was able to reach him without any problem using her number that same day. He then launched into incoherent explanations that didn't hold water. This gentleman seems very friendly on the phone, but don't be fooled: affable, but unreliable! In short, if you don't want your wedding or event to be a disaster: run away!!!

10/05/2026: The servers were very pleasant, smiling, and attentive. The atmosphere was calm and very relaxing, with a superb view of the Loire riverbanks. The food was delicious with a good balance of spices. The wines were very good, but the selection by the glass was insufficient.

09/05/2026: We went to the bar, and the bartender told us we'd have to wait 10 minutes and showed us where we could sit. I took the opportunity to clear the table and put the glasses back on the counter. After waiting 15 minutes, we realized we wouldn't be served, as other customers who had been seated after us had already received their orders.

08/08/2025: everything is rubbish, not good, expensive, incomprehensible, very noisy, in short, the food at the Alabuga Polytechnic is tastier, not to mention this pigsty, and they couldn't even park my Bugatti properly, cripples.

06/04/2026: Fantastic stay, with a warm and very friendly welcome. We ate very well. The location is opposite the bridge and has parking. Thank you to the owners for their kindness.

29/03/2026: We had only planned to grab a bite to eat or a coffee at a restaurant. But the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly welcome from the waiter, along with the surprising menu featuring couscous, made us change our plans. After a Ricard, we opted for the Couscous Royal, a great choice. Perfectly cooked vegetables—carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, white beets, onions, and garlic in a delicious sauce served in a traditional ceramic pot—along with lamb, beef, chicken, and merguez sausage prepared in different ways, as well as separate bowls of chickpeas, white raisins, and homemade harisa. A rosé from the Berthier winery in Côte Gienoise made the meal a truly special experience. Second helpings were readily offered, which we gladly accepted, as it was so delicious we simply had to have seconds. The dessert Café Gourmande, featuring panna cotta with cherry, cream cheese with passion fruit sauce, and crème brûlée, was served like an espresso and accompanied by an intense spearmint tea, prepared in the North African style by the chef. A fine peppermint liqueur, also complimentary, rounded off the meal. What was meant to be a five-minute break turned into a two-and-a-half-hour culinary experience of pure enjoyment. Highly recommended.

18/04/2026: A very warm welcome and delicious food at very reasonable prices – I highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return on my next visit to Château-Renard.

17/04/2026: Basic, old-fashioned hotel Friendly staff Far too expensive for the service and overall dilapidated condition We paid full price for the overnight package because we ordered a starter from the more expensive set menu one evening, but received no discount on breakfasts we didn't have

26/04/2026: The service was mediocre, we were given the only table in the sun and had to ask for a table in the shade, especially since we were celebrating a birthday. And to top it all off, the birthday cake fell on the floor, which was the highlight of the day. We won't be back, and this will be our only experience at this restaurant. Good luck.

03/02/2026: What a disappointment! I wanted to surprise my husband by inviting him for a weekend. Seeing that their website mentioned the restaurant was closed in November, I emailed the hotel to ask if I could also book dinner for two people that evening if I booked a room. I received confirmation that I could book with the restaurant, which I did through their website. I received confirmation of my order, which included one room, two breakfasts, and two restaurant reservations. What a disappointment when, upon arrival, the restaurant had been closed for two months! As a result, we couldn't find anything open in the village on a Sunday evening. The surprise was completely ruined since we couldn't have dinner. It's a shame because the website is nice, but from our arrival to our departure, we didn't encounter a single person. Furthermore, the €15 breakfast was outrageous, as there was no hot milk, just a small croissant and a pain au chocolat – in short, disappointing in an unheated room. Naturally, I sent them an email, but received no reply, not even an apology. So I reported it to Logis de France, who informed me that they no longer work with them; however, their logo is still displayed on their website.

21/01/2026: A good inn where room and board are provided in a traditional style, with the added bonus of a pleasant atmosphere and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

24/09/2025: Fairly standard motorway service area, roadworks everywhere, not very clean, not very pleasant, fortunately there are super charger type charging stations.

22/03/2026: Friendly atmosphere and a lively bar! Excellent place to come and have fun, chat, and spend a great evening. Plus, you can reserve the upstairs area, which is a big bonus!
