18/09/2026: Au Petit Fourneau What a wonderful find in Épernay! A lovely family-run restaurant with an excellent choice of authentic French food. We had a fantastic experience. The owner spoke English very well, was delightful, and took the time to explain the menu in detail and share some of her experiences as a chef, which made the evening feel very personal. The restaurant was busy and clearly very popular, with a lovely atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend Au Petit Fourneau. We’ll definitely return on our next visit to Épernay!

28/09/2026: The location was cosy and the food was good. The Moroccan menu offered a good selection, but there were not many vegetarian options. It would be nice if the vegetarian tagine/couscous included chickpeas instead of just vegetables. Also, we were surprised that the tagine wasn’t served with bread or couscous. The friendly service was unfortunately slow and disorganised. Despite only three tables being occupied, we were served late and not closely attended to.

16/08/2026: It has been a legal right in France since July 1, 2021. Law No. 2020-105 of February 10, 2020 (the anti-waste law) requires restaurants and bars to provide reusable or recyclable containers for customers to take home uneaten food, upon request (Juribot) (Article L541-15-7 of the Environmental Code). Some useful details: The restaurant cannot refuse, except in certain circumstances (all-you-can-eat buffets, where this obligation does not apply). (Comment Ça Marche) The container must be provided, but the law does not explicitly require this service to be free (regioneo) — in practice, most restaurants do not charge for the container. A restaurant owner can refuse to allow customers to take home certain products for hygiene reasons (for example, certain fish or delicate preparations). So if you want to get your leftover lunch back, you are perfectly within your rights to ask for it.

06/10/2026: We had a wonderful time celebrating our little girl's birthday! A truly lovely experience, with delicious food, top-quality dishes, and an incredibly warm welcome. The service was pleasant, the atmosphere friendly, and everything came together perfectly for a fantastic time. A huge thank you to the entire team for their professionalism and attentiveness to their customers. It's always a pleasure to discover a place where you feel comfortable and want to return. I wholeheartedly recommend Le Why Not! It's definitely worth a visit. We'll be back with great pleasure! 👏🍽️❤️

22/09/2026: Why Not is a lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The appetizers and initial service were good, but we then waited 90 minutes for our entrées. During that time, no one cleared our appetizer plates, checked on us, offered another glass of wine, gave an explanation of the delay etc. When the meals finally arrived all were overcooked resulting in well done beef, veal that was tough and potatoes with little flavor. I will give them "the benefit of doubt" as there was a large party that seemed to overwhelm the staff and may have caused the delay in our meals being delivered. I had heard good things about this restaurant so I was disappointed.

18/08/2026: What a lovely little champagne shop! 🥂 I popped in on a whim because the impressive selection of champagnes immediately caught my eye. For the size of the shop, there's a truly astonishing amount of choice – and much of it is in stock. Since we were looking for a bottle to drink right away, I asked about chilled champagnes. The very friendly owner first inquired about our preferences and then recommended a Blanc de Blancs. A perfect recommendation: perfectly chilled, so we could take it with us and enjoy it immediately. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable, and communication in English was also no problem. I especially appreciated the combination of a wide selection, personalized advice, and the option to spontaneously pick up a chilled champagne. Exactly what we were looking for – to buy champagne on a whim, perfectly chilled, and enjoy it right away. We'll definitely be back! 🥂

17/06/2026: I also recommend ordering champagne through the website; there's a very wide selection of producers and excellent value for money. The owner is attentive, and shipping is very fast.

19/09/2026: Friendly welcome, very good meal and impeccable service!! I was just disappointed that I wasn't told we would be dining in a noisy room with rather basic decor...on the website I saw this beautiful cellar where I thought we'd have a romantic dinner...it would have been nice to tell us that the cellar would be full and that we would be dining upstairs in a simple room...that would at least have given me the option to confirm...or not.
