05/04/2026: It was a good experience to eat at why not. The food was well prepared and beautifully presented. The service was a bit stiff and the room a bit cold. There are different chairs in the restaurant, and some of the chairs are not suitable for sitting on for a few hours. The price includes a good bottle of champagne, which is part of eating at a restaurant in Épernay.

25/03/2026: Passing through the area, we stumbled upon Why Not by chance. And what a happy coincidence! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is quick and efficient. We opted for the rack of lamb and the steak tartare. The latter was seasoned right in front of us, and it was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best I've ever had. Thank you again.

08/07/2025: Great delicious refined food, fast and friendly service, overall very good experience. If there’s one thing that could be better, the only thing we could think of was the bread which was not completely on point. But the rest was really great! Can absolutely recommend this place!

06/07/2025: We had a dinner for two in the nice wine cellar. We started with a cheese and charcuterie platter which was a nice way to start. For the main course we had the steak tartar and the hamburger, which were both really good (especially price quality wise). For the desserts we had the crème brûlée and the French toast, which I’d definitely recommend. We had a bottle of wine which was decent for 34 euros but by googling this the wholesale price was roughly 8-10 euros so this is an okay deal. The staff was really nice even for mwah french speakers. even making some jokes and trying to talk english.

23/01/2026: I'm sorry, but we went there yesterday, the 22nd, to Saint-Vincent and were very disappointed. The welcome was terrible because two people were missing due to illness. The starter was average, and the main course wasn't at all what I had ordered. When you order venison and are served beef, frankly... and yet I used to enjoy going there, but they won't be seeing me again, especially when you spend over €1000 for 8 adults.

27/12/2025: Visited Restaurant Le Theatre as part of our day tour of Epernay and the Champagne region of France. Lovely three course set lunch. Restaurant was in a nice location and the wait staff was friendly and gave good suggestions. Lovely lunch was had by everyone.

15/03/2026: I usually leave measured reviews, but this experience was very disappointing. I ordered steak tartare at a restaurant known for its meat. At no point on the menu was it mentioned that you could prepare it yourself, and the waitress didn't even ask how I wanted it. The tartare arrived already seasoned… and it was simply inedible: you couldn't taste the meat at all, only the mustard, which was far too strong. I mentioned this to the waitress once: no reaction. When the table was cleared, I mentioned it again, and I was told that I should have asked to prepare it myself. It's hard to accept when it's neither indicated nor offered. The rest of the service wasn't any better: we were a large table, and I was the only one who didn't receive dessert. On the plus side, though: the two tartares at our table were removed from the bill. But between an inedible dish, inattentive service and a very noisy restaurant, the disappointment is real.

10/03/2026: Disappointed by the portion size considering the price. 35 euros for a Camembert platter with a tiny piece of cheese... what a shame...

28/02/2026: I've bought pastries from you several times over the years, and each time I've been disappointed by how excessively sweet your creations are. A quality cake shouldn't have that much sugar, even if you enjoy it! Beyond the question of taste, we mustn't forget the health aspect. Pleasure doesn't need such excess. I no longer buy from you because of this, and that's a real shame.

16/02/2026: I wasn't familiar with this pastry shop, not being from Épernay. It was a magnificent taste experience, surely the best pastry shop in the Champagne-Ardenne region (having traveled extensively). We had eight different cakes; we embarked on eight culinary journeys of excellence. Bravo to the team!

22/03/2026: Wow, wish I had read the reviews before visiting this restaurant. I am 55 years old and have just been 'held hostage' in an eaterie for the first time in my life!! We visited on a Saturday lunchtime when the terrace was quiet and asked to be seated in the sun as it was a cold day. After being directed to a table in the shade we ordered some drinks. Then ordered meals for myself and my husband, but not my young son who didn't want to eat. We were told that every person has to order a main meal. Fair enough, but I have never known this to apply to children especially since there is no children's menu. We apologised and said we would just pay for the drinks and leave. The lady serving us said that wasn't possible and we had to order 3 main courses. So we went ahead and ordered 3 main adult courses, one of which was not eaten. Such a waste of food and money, and a completely incomprehensible policy. Please avoid, especially if you have children. We were made to feel very uncomfortable, and almost intimidated. The food was ok, but nothing special.

07/03/2026: We were well received, the food was good, and the prices were more than reasonable. I recommend it. I'm leaving another review because I returned on March 7, 2026, four years later, and nothing has changed. We were well received, the service was quick, and the portions were generous, just the way we liked them. See you next time, for sure.

12/04/2026: The hotel boasts a prime location right on the Avenue de Champagne and makes a truly beautiful first impression. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that some areas could benefit from a bit more upkeep and maintenance. We stayed in the "Banana Room," which pleasantly surprised us – it was especially quiet at night, significantly better than expected for such a central location. The bathroom could be improved: Unfortunately, there's no towel rack, so you have to improvise to hang your towels. This is somewhat inconvenient. Breakfast was good and perfectly adequate. However, the reception is only staffed for a few hours a day, which can be a bit limiting depending on your needs. Overall, it's a nice hotel with a lot of potential that could be truly outstanding with a few improvements.

28/03/2026: A delight of a boutique bed & breakfast, associated with the champagne house A.Bergere, a place we’d stayed before a couple times The property is beautiful and antique, modern inside and comfortable, centenary impressive architecture, very central at the heart of Epernay, and on the must-be-there “Avenue de Champagne” Our room had this avenue view, lively and bubbly during the day, when you shut the curtains it insulated from the cold outside and the noise breakfast has all that I wanted, ham and charcuterie, and various cheeses, yoghurt, a couple of espresso coffee machines, milk frother, all sorts of seasonal fruits, as well as nuts The room also offers an espresso coffee machine, all toiletries u might need, the shower is s waterfall and nice and warm, fluffy robes in the wardrobe, couldn’t be more comfortable Totally recommend,
