16/05/2026: An excellent dinner with the "stopover" menu. Very attentive and friendly service, with nothing superficial about it. Excellent cuisine, a friendly and inventive chef. We had a very pleasant evening. A delightful surprise!

15/06/2026: Cold and unwelcoming reception. The restaurant had just opened, the terrace was set up, and we arrived to reserve a table for two, requesting a table on the terrace. "NO" from the manager. We quickly turned our backs on this unprofessional welcome. Being a business owner can lead to frustration in many ways, but this certainly doesn't help matters...

15/05/2026: I had a very good, hearty burger and perfectly cooked fries. I was greeted by a lovely and very attentive lady. I'll be back to enjoy the terrace when the weather is nicer.

03/03/2026: Terrible reception. Meanness in their replies. Overwhelmed but still has time to go smoke. Avoid at all costs.

07/08/2026: I had the misfortune of getting some inedible shrimp. They had definitely gone bad. The buffet selection was average. The owner was pleasant, but the waitress was less than average! I definitely won't be going back.

19/07/2026: We love this restaurant. The food is great. However, we were served by a new, young waitress. Miss, please learn to say hello, to smile, and to clear the plates. In restaurant service, one must be pleasant and welcoming to customers.

23/09/2025: Very nice view, unlike previous years. No one came to take our order and the waiter was pleasant, but the coffee with just a drop of milk (hazelnut flavor) cost over €2, which is outrageous.

Excellent welcome, we return every time we're in Château-Chinon: Simple but very good dishes The owners' kindness is a plus The Bourgogne Aligoté is highly recommended, in short, we come back here every year Thank you again! This year again, we made the traditional detour to Château-Chinon and Le Montana for lunch and to say hello to the owners!

20/07/2026: The welcome was a disaster. The waitress was clearly passive-aggressive when we ordered. I've rarely been treated like that. We'd barely ordered when they took away our table, leaving us four crammed onto a tiny round table. Our order was served in dribs and drabs. The first person had already finished their ice cream sundae long before the rest of ours were even served. My advice: avoid this place. Walk a few steps further (there are other bars/restaurants) to enjoy your drink in decent conditions.

04/12/2025: What can I say… I stopped there at lunchtime, starving, without even checking the reviews. The welcome was a bit odd, and I was seated right next to a table with two drunk customers who stared at me throughout the entire meal—a very so-so atmosphere. I ordered quite a bit, but I was left wanting more. I started with the La Faustine galette (cream, tomato, honey, goat cheese): none of the ingredients were actually cooked, and the filling was practically nonexistent. When I opened the galette, I really felt ripped off… especially for €12! I tried a second galette, the Classique (ham, cheese, egg). I'm still looking for the cheese… Not even a whole slice of ham, and the crème fraîche was just placed on top of the galette, which I'd never seen before. Then, a Nutella crêpe: okay, nothing special. Then a waffle, after asking if it was homemade: the manager assured me it was, that the owner made them himself. But honestly, it was dry and hard, like a mass-produced one. As for drinks: a nearly flat Coke, close to its expiration date, and an Orangina. In the end: €39.70 for a truly awful meal. Frankly, even a home cook could do better than some of the restaurants in the village. Very disappointed.

14/11/2025: Luzy is a small, rustic crêperie with a friendly welcome. Two waffles, an espresso, and a hot chocolate for €19... even in Annecy it's cheaper, and the waffle batter is actually made fresh on-site. Here, the waffles are mass-produced, probably bought from an industrial supplier; a quick spin in the waffle iron and voilà, they're ready. A shame, especially considering the price.

15/03/2026: A very bad experience. No one was there to pay upon arrival or departure. Room 8, straight out of the 1960s, smelled musty and stale. This was due to mold on the bathroom tiles and the poor hygiene of the toilets. Photos below. I don't understand the 8/10 reviews I see.

19/02/2026: Nice little hotel, inn-style; good food; one small drawback: the staff were a bit inattentive. But if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stay there. Franck

21/07/2026: Superb shop! Chocolates, pastries, and tables to sit at! But the real surprise comes from the carefully selected spices and herbs also sold there.

15/11/2025: Honestly, very good. Given the recent reviews, we were skeptical, but we were genuinely pleasantly surprised. The snails were perfectly seasoned, the poached egg was excellent, and the waiter was really very friendly. Decor: as is 😉

31/10/2025: We were very disappointed with our meal. The new owners are not living up to the past of this iconic regional restaurant. We had been coming here regularly for years for its tastefully prepared regional cuisine and its slightly run-down but incredibly welcoming atmosphere. We will not be returning. What a shame, this is an address to forget.
