14/10/2025: It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it's like going to your grandparents' house! It's cozy. It's not very big, but the food is very, very good (the homemade apple pie is delicious) and you're very welcome even without a reservation. I highly recommend stopping by for a friendly moment.

15/02/2026: A great little place for the town of Château-Chinon. We had the Plat du jour, which was simple but quite tasty, especially for the price. The furniture needs replacing, though—damaged chairs, etc. But otherwise, it's fine!

14/09/2025: Very friendly welcome. The rooms are a little sparsely decorated but big and clean and super comfortable and the modern bathroom has a lovely shower. The WiFi signal is good. Essentially a comfy no frills place to stay at a reasonable price. Breakfast offered at €9 although I didn’t try it. Free parking outside the hotel. Recommended!

08/09/2025: We (two people on a motorcycle trip) spent one night at this hotel. The very friendly hostess looked after us wonderfully! The rooms are simple, but they were perfect for our needs. The evening menu was also really excellent. The motorcycles can be parked in a garage.

14/03/2026: Very disappointing and very expensive. The wine wasn't even chilled, and €5 for a Coke? They don't think we're idiots!

31/01/2026: The photos are misleading; the hotel's facade doesn't make you want to go inside! Personally, I wouldn't go there for a romantic weekend.

26/01/2026: I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which truly deserves its two stars for quality and price! It's very well located, right across from the train station and close to the city center. The location is convenient for getting around easily. I'd like to give a special mention to the warm welcome; the staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, which made for a pleasant stay. Excellent value for money, which I highly recommend.

28/11/2025: A packed place at 12:30 is always a good sign. Workers, office workers, and couples. It's popular, welcoming, and unpretentious. Excellent calf's head. Unbeatable value for money. We'll make a note of it and come back if we're ever in Nevers again. I recommend making a reservation for large groups.

23/11/2025: Perfect. The welcome and the waitress were very good. The manager was also very good. A place where you can stop without any worries.

14/03/2026: INCREDIBLE! The new owners are fantastic, and the food is exquisite. We eagerly awaited this opening, and we weren't disappointed. The service is top-notch, and the cuisine is incredibly flavorful. Both the quantity and quality are excellent. And for the price, we were thrilled. Truly delicious food at a very reasonable price. I wholeheartedly recommend you go.

06/03/2026: We didn't try the overnight stays. As for the meals: we strongly advise against this restaurant. The salad had hard, tasteless tomatoes, unfortunately, even in the middle of summer! The carpaccio had very little meat, lost in a similar salad, and the Époisses burger had 50 grams of meat and hardly any fries! Honestly, we wondered if there was even a cook present and were very disappointed with the value for money. A bill of 100 euros for three people, including our four-year-old daughter, is very expensive for the quality. It's a shame because the location is excellent and there's nothing else around.

13/12/2025: This week I had the pleasure of eating the most wonderful beef bourguignon. The meat was deliciously tender, perfectly cooked, the potatoes and carrots were also delicious, and the sauce was perfect. I savored every bite. It was truly excellent. Bravo to the chef and the entire team, always smiling, pleasant, and very friendly, for the impeccable service. Go to Maxime's without hesitation. It's truly the restaurant that will make your taste buds smile! Thank you again. I wish the whole team very happy holidays. 🎉🎄 CB. A true epicurean.
