08/02/2026: The place on the slopes that I visited most often for lunch. The food was delicious, the beer was at a good price. The problem is, there is a long wait to order and sometimes after you order there is no place to sit.

07/01/2026: cute little spot we ate for lunch one day. They were fully booked but the hostess was able to accommodate our party w/ a short wait. Service was fantastic and the food equally fantastic. Pricing was very reasonable.

18/02/2026: Superb, recently renovated mountain restaurant. Excellent food. The hot chocolate was incredibly comforting. Warm and inviting interior decor. Professional, friendly, and smiling staff. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's not every day you get to have lunch or a drink at 2500m altitude, by a lake and surrounded by mountains. The building blends in quite well with nature, although obviously that's not necessarily what you'd expect to find in the wilderness—that's just my opinion. I highly recommend this restaurant.

28/01/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An exceptional experience at Le Refuge in Solaise! An absolutely magical place with a splendid view and a warm, mountain atmosphere. The welcome is impeccable, the staff are friendly, attentive, and very professional. The dishes are delicious, generous, and perfectly prepared with high-quality ingredients. Everything comes together for a unique experience: a magnificent setting, flavorful cuisine, and a convivial atmosphere. A must-visit in Solaise; we will definitely be back!

19/02/2026: There are no WORDS the express the deliciousness of the pastries at this place. By far the best patisserie in the area. We had raspberry & pistachio tart and oh my god it was PERFECT. Staff is lovely, prices reasonable and very nice selection of teas. I had mariage frere’s rooibos tea and highly recommend it. Only downside was that we discovered it on the last day of the trip, truly wish we had gone there on the first day as I would love to visit it every day especially after ski!

06/04/2025: First the negative things: I think the only negative in that I gets quite warm inside. Positive things: The raclette was really delicious,the charcuterie as well and the menu had many different options, including a child-menu. The staff was really lovely too. They also have a bar with a terrace upstairs, which uses the raclette cheese if unfinished!

23/03/2025: First time to have dinner here and we had the most wonderful, locally authentic meal. Onion soup and Pierrade au Boeuf, the meat was simply delicious. Service was excellent and friendly, atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend.

06/02/2026: We visited for lunch and ate in le cave - it was very snowy out so couldn’t eat outside but our main disappointment was the food - one of the dishes in particular , the boeuf bourguignon was particularly disappoint, the beef and carrots were nice but the sauce was so watery and the price for a poorly executed stew was far too high. All our other meals in the area have been much better quality and you pay a premium to eat here - I would skip the restaurant, not worth it. The staff were lively though and the wine was good.

06/02/2026: A classic Folie Douce. Returning after 13 years, it’s clear the place has been revamped and expanded. That said, unless there’s a guest DJ (and even then) the music can feel repetitive—sometimes even following almost the same order day after day. It would be refreshing to see DJs take more risks and introduce new tracks to discover. The reliance on well-known classics seems to be the price Folie Douce pays for its massive popularity and the need to please a broad crowd. Still, blending those classics with a more progressive, daring selection would keep the experience fresh and engaging, especially for visitors spending a full week in Val d’Isère.

01/02/2026: We have been here many times, usually in a large group. The views are spectacular and the service very good. However on the last two occasions some of the food was very average or poor. There was little concern from the staff when was pointed out in spite of the table having a very large bill. It seems to be trading on its reputation and some of the menu therefore very overpriced.

18/01/2026: Love this restaurant! My favourite in the area. Top class food, service. comfortable seating and facilities with amazing views of La Face, Le Fornet and far beyond. A little tricky to ski top for an intermediate skier (depending on conditions) but soo worth it! 10/10!!
