19/08/2026: A truly beautiful, two-Michelin-starred restaurant at the foot of the Aravis mountains. We received a very warm welcome at this restaurant with impeccable service. The Chef delighted us with the special fish menu, "À l'Onde des Cîmes," a dish of exquisite finesse, yet with a delightful zest that served as a guiding thread throughout the meal. Thank you to the entire team for this wonderful experience, as refined as it was delicious.
15/08/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant today.
The downsides:
- We were very displeased that this gourmet restaurant allows pets. This is truly unacceptable for a Michelin-starred establishment. Their barking disturbed us, and we find it unhygienic to allow animals in this type of establishment (even though we have a pet ourselves). This is also disrespectful to the other customers who wish to enjoy their meal in peace and quiet.
- It's unfortunate that there aren't enough parasols, forcing us to move our tables (and thus sit close to the neighboring tables) because of the sun. Just two more parasols would solve this problem!
- - When I went to the restroom at the end of the meal, there were no more hand towels.
- Our table had large stains upon arrival, which is not what one would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant.
- The wine pairing was overpriced.
The Pros
- Very beautiful and pleasant terrace
- Excellent food with lovely, elegant presentation
- Friendly staff
- The chef was very kind and we met him at the end of the meal
- Large free parking lot nearby

23/05/2026: Fantastic welcome! Fanny is absolutely lovely and very professional. I highly recommend this very peaceful place. I was so happy to stumble upon it by chance to charge my phone, which had died, and enjoy an excellent beer. Highly recommended!
21/05/2026: A sure bet in the area: a very well-exposed terrace facing Fourvière, reasonably priced drinks and cocktails, and attentive staff.

13/08/2026: Dinner yesterday with my husband and 4-year-old son.
Everything was wonderful.
The staff were incredibly kind, the service was superb, the food excellent, and the crozets gratin was a special mention—it was beyond excellent.
And to top it off, they offered us a complimentary génépi liqueur.
Thank you for this lovely experience.

14/07/2026: The restaurant was good, but the welcome and service were handled by a passive-aggressive waiter. I had a reservation, and he coldly asked me if I wanted a table inside or outside. I asked for inside, and his response was, "Mmm." For the rest of the meal, he didn't smile once. I understand that people can have a bad day, but we didn't ask for any of this...
13/07/2026: Perfect, we had a Savoyard fondue and ice cream for dessert. It was excellent. Perhaps a little pricey, but that's the going rate at the resort. The service was quick and the staff were helpful.

06/08/2026: The previous reviews don't reflect our lunch at this restaurant at all. The service was very poor; when I asked the waitress what was in my burger, she replied, "Well, it had a steak..." but the burger was actually chicken with no sauce... very disappointing. Avoid this place.

The only drawbacks, which prevented us from giving it 5 stars, were the terrace being practically on the road and the tables being very close together, and of course the prices, but that's become common in Val d'Isère!
18/08/2026: The service was adequate and the location was good. However, I was disappointed with the "artisanal" ice cream, which had a strangely artificial taste. I also would have preferred real lemonade instead of the Sprite I was served. I find it difficult to agree with all the reviews left on Google...

26/04/2026: From the moment I arrived, Léa and Juliette gave me a wonderful welcome and offered excellent advice on choosing my lunch. Everything was perfect! I'm sad it's closing, but I'm already looking forward to coming back next winter for such a warm welcome.
26/03/2026: We came in for desserts, but our experience was rather unpleasant. While we were paying at the counter, the staff member started coughing into her hands, and then used those same bare hands to handle and serve our desserts. This was very unhygienic..

29/04/2026: Want to get ripped off? Head straight to La Folie Douce without hesitation: €10 for a lukewarm glass of white wine, €20 for a spritz, all served in a child's plastic cup. I'm speechless.
28/04/2026: Honestly, the first time I saw Folie Douce, I couldn't believe I'd find a place like this in the middle of the mountains!
The atmosphere is incredible (the video is from a very quiet day), there's a really festive energy, people speaking all kinds of languages, dancing, singing, and relaxing!
If you're nearby, don't hesitate to go up, because it's a truly unique place.

20/03/2026: After the first visit ,I came here 2 more times. The wine list is impressive, but being alone I stuck to wines by the glass. The service from Camille was commensurate with the wine list – exceptional. I was greeted each time in a friendly and professional manner. Everyone spoke beautiful English, but I’m sure that my experience would’ve been even better (if that’s possible ) if I spoke French. The charcuterie board was artfully laid out, and the burrata salad and roasted vegetables excellent. I wish I was here longer to experience more of the menu . Highly recommend.
11/03/2026: A delightful time shared with friends who are regulars. We enjoyed a tasting of a very good St. Joseph Gripa, recommended by the owner. The shared meal was fabulously delicious.
We'll be back to treat ourselves again.

23/04/2026: The hotel is a bit overrated in my opinion, and the experience was disappointing, especially the restaurant. Otherwise, the rooms are pleasant. Special mention goes to the spa, which overlooks the valley – a breathtaking view!
17/04/2026: BEWARE OF HOSTILE MANAGER. Had lunch at their restaurant and since our hotel booked for us and given it was our first time there obviously we would not know how sunny/which direction the sun would be hitting us from. Anyway we asked for seats to be facing away from the sun to which the lady who kept emphasizing she’s the manager (good for her but does she really need to keep saying it) said no because all the seats are absolutely fully booked for the whole lunch period (even if we said we will leave in an hour). She even misunderstand us and tried to seat us facing the sun. Anyway my husband just had surgery on his face and cannot be under the sun directly so we insisted and she moved us indoors, not before she rudely asked us if we wanted to leave repeatedly.
The rest of the staff was nice and we noticed her talking pretty condescendingly to them. Maybe she’s the owner’s daughter or something? Crazy attitude. Anyway when we left an hour later and there were 6-7 empty tables outside. All fully booked huh? With this kinda attitude she shouldn’t work in hospitality if she acts like she hates her life.
