21/05/2026: A very nice experience. The food options were lacking, but otherwise we had a very pleasant weekend.

19/05/2026: Beautiful natural setting, very welcoming staff, the activities are great, with a special mention for the escape game. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to expand the snack bar a bit, both in terms of quality and variety.

12/09/2026: One of the few restaurants that agreed to serve us on a Saturday at 1:30 pm. The service was a little slow, but the dishes and desserts were very good.

19/08/2026: A very good experience. Excellent value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything was homemade. Generous portions and a simple yet attractive presentation. Thank you to the chef and the team at this restaurant for a lovely meal! We will be back.

20/06/2026: Nice restaurant in an old building. The pizza is good and the salad too. Very friendly and good service. We were there on a Wednesday, and it must have been sad for the owners that we were the only guests.

A small suggestion: Would it be possible to try some new vegetables for your quiches (pumpkin, parsnip, cauliflower, eggplant, artichoke, fennel, endive, turnip, asparagus, olive, etc.)? 25/11/2025: Upon entering, we were asked to wait for a chair with a note on it. The entire restaurant was full of partitions, making it feel a bit claustrophobic. We were placed in a corner without a view outside. (See photo). Furthermore, the waitress rushed us as if we had to leave quickly. The food wasn't warm and the portions were small. No questions asked during the process if we had had enough or if we needed another drink. The price/quality ratio is disproportionate. Very expensive! A beautiful location outside, but not recommended inside.

29/09/2026: Since it's a rooftop bar, I was a little apprehensive, even though it's recommended by the Michelin Green Guide. What a pleasant surprise! The glass of Champagne was generously poured. The food was good overall—vegetables and fish, I don't remember exactly what we ordered. The head waiter was very friendly. The terrace was huge.

27/08/2026: ⭐ AVOID AT ALL COSTS — Absolutely unacceptable experience There were eight of us, and we have rarely been treated so poorly in a restaurant. From the very beginning, the staff were extremely unpleasant and disrespectful, with a way of speaking to customers that was simply unacceptable. No consideration, no smiles, no desire to please the customer. In the middle of a heatwave, we ordered cold drinks. However, we were served hot drinks, without ice, and were charged for them despite our dissatisfaction. When we pointed this out, the staff's reaction was almost mocking, with laughter and completely inappropriate remarks. And that's not all: when it came time to pay, we found a bill about €40 more than we had expected. When we asked for an explanation, the situation was taken lightly, with, once again, a very unpleasant attitude. As for cleanliness, it's even worse. The plates arrived dirty, the restaurant's overall condition seemed very neglected, and we even saw cockroaches. The restrooms were in a particularly disgusting state: urine on the floor, a nauseating odor, and a clear lack of maintenance. When we asked why the restrooms were in this condition, we were told they were cleaned once every two weeks. If this was indeed the answer we were given, it is simply incomprehensible for an establishment that serves the public. Between the reception, the staff's behavior, the billing issues, the lack of hygiene, and the state of the restrooms, everything combined to make for a very unpleasant experience. There were eight of us, and we all left with the same impression: a catastrophic and completely unacceptable experience. I strongly advise against this establishment. A restaurant can have its flaws, but respect for the customer and hygiene should be the foundation.

22/08/2026: Meal for 4 on the terrace: Friendly welcome in broad daylight at 7:30 pm with a reservation. 1) The savory buckwheat crepe (galette) as a main course was very good. Perfectly cooked, generously filled, and flavorful. 2) We were very disappointed with the dessert crepe. It tasted and was as hard as a crepe straight from a Wahoo plastic bag and reheated in a pan. I have a good recommendation for a crepe/galette making and cooking workshop in Brittany (at the Ploudalmézeau water tower). 3) Two hours to eat a savory buckwheat crepe and a dessert crepe… I honestly thought they were milking a cow right there! Otherwise, not too many mosquitoes, which was a plus.

08/06/2026: We had a lovely time at this restaurant. The dishes were as beautiful as they were delicious, with elegant presentation and excellent flavors. However, a few things could be improved. The decor could perhaps use a refresh to create a warmer atmosphere. I also found the cheese rather bland, and the dessert was served very lukewarm, which made it less enjoyable. Finally, the staff is professional and friendly, although a smile would add an extra touch of warmth. Overall, a good experience, with a few tweaks that could make all the difference.

23/05/2026: The welcome was normal, nothing to report, but the service was mediocre. They practically jumped on us, not even giving us time to look at the appetizer menu. They brought us rock-hard croutons to spread with tuna rillettes? Hello, dentures! We asked the waitress why the bread was so hard, and she replied, "It's all I have," before giving us slices of bread. She came back to take our order without waiting for us to finish our appetizers. Unhappy and not very friendly, she returned later. The menu wasn't worth the price, the young waiters were too attentive at the table, in short, a bad experience at this express restaurant, "Le Lion d'Or," which wasn't very welcoming. A sad end, or perhaps just plain hungry? 😂🤣

11/06/2026: Chateau set in a lovely location. We were welcomed at reception and shown to our room. It had a large bed, quaint features and a bathroom with separate toilet. Air-conditioning was great and although it seemed plush we had a few gripes...... When removing the decorative cushions from the bed they were all badly stained and dirty. We had reserved the room for 2 adults however there was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel in the bathroom. The shower was totally inadequate as due to the low ceiling it could only go 3ft from the bottom of the bath and impossible to stand under. Breakfast, although pricey, was lovely with plenty of choice.

22/03/2026: A peaceful spot by the water. A truly delightful gourmet meal, even including dishes I wouldn't normally eat. The decor is exquisite. The rooms and bedding are worthy of the hotel's star rating. I highly recommend it. Just 10 minutes from Futuroscope.

22/10/2025: A really cool pub. Unique decor, but super relaxed. The few beers I would have tried would have been great! Perfect for a relaxed evening with friends.

15/10/2025: Not being from Châtellerault, I highly recommend this bar/restaurant! The bartender and the waitress were incredibly kind, the kind of hospitality I've rarely experienced. The warm welcome allowed me to truly enjoy my work break. If you're passing by, stop in for a truly exceptional mental break. Thanks again for everything.

27/08/2026: Lovely setting on the banks of the Clain. We were greeted and seen off by an unpleasant manager; luckily, the young waitress was very friendly. The salad was poorly washed and lacked dressing. Despite a good previous experience, this time we should have stayed home!
