08/05/2026: Great jam session, Max is fantastic, and the food is excellent—kudos to the chef. However, it's completely irresponsible to allow customers and even employees to smoke inside the bar, especially in the small, poorly ventilated basement. The waitress confirmed that they allow smoking after 10 p.m. We had to leave because we had such a bad headache from the smoke. We shouldn't be forced to endure secondhand smoke to enjoy a place. I'd like to remind everyone that in France, smoking is prohibited inside bars, cafes, restaurants, and nightclubs, at any time. After the recent tragedies in enclosed spaces, allowing people to smoke cigarettes and cannabis in such a small basement is a real scandal. It's a shame, because the atmosphere and the food were really great.

15/05/2026: A very busy bistro with lots of people just in for a drink or 2. Service was excellent as was the food with plenty of choice and enough vegetarian options.

14/05/2026: Leaving the gym and having an appointment 15 minutes later, I decided to get a drink. I was immediately stared at because of my outfit (normal sweatpants and a t-shirt). The welcome was very sour; it seemed to be the owner and the man behind the bar treating their employee very badly. In 2026, judging people based on their clothing (which, moreover, is perfectly normal) is absolutely unacceptable! I absolutely do not recommend this place.

18/05/2026: I came with my mother on a Saturday late afternoon and the welcome was incredibly warm, the iced tea was delicious and the cakes were amazing, really no negative points except that we had to go home at some point 😂

29/04/2026: First time at La Maison du Cassoulet, just a few meters from the Jean Jaurès metro station. How could I not have been here before? Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the friendliness of the staff. And of course, the cassoulet was delicious, one of the best I've ever had, with melt-in-your-mouth meat and everything else just perfect. At lunchtime, expect to pay €24 for the cassoulet with a small salad or €28.50 with a starter and dessert.

The dishes were basic and lacked real flavor (the burrata and veal were tasteless), and the value for money was poor (our deciding factor was the pasta with clams or vongole, which was expensive for what it was). They served arugula as a salad without even a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It's a far cry from authentic, generous, and flavorful Italian cuisine; it's more of a rather successful but rushed pastiche.
