18/05/2026: We ordered two lamb couscous dishes to go last night, and we've both been sick ever since. We had terrible stomach pains accompanied by diarrhea and headaches all night and day—horrible. This restaurant should be absolutely avoided; it should be inspected for hygiene reasons as it's dangerous.

21/05/2026: A fantastic spot on the Old Port, right across from the ferry. We went twice during a 4-day stay in Marseille with a group of 40 people, and the service was impeccable and very professional. Thanks to Arnaud and the other servers, as well as the owner who was there and made sure we were well taken care of! I highly recommend this establishment for large groups and individuals alike! The staff and atmosphere are very pleasant and were much appreciated by our group of 40 senior citizens!

19/05/2026: Good value restaurant & pub. Happy hour prices on beer from 5-8 pm, and a large selection of beers. I had the entrecote which was large and good value. Large seating both inside and outside.

19/06/2026: Strolling along the old port, feeling hungry, and finding yourself seated on this shady terrace. Being served by a very friendly, welcoming, and efficient young woman, and enjoying a salad made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, generous and original... what a beautiful start to the day in Marseille!

09/07/2025: Friendly waitress but cold mussels (3 out of 5 dishes), hamburger without cheese (the first time I've seen that), and on top of that, 3 fries that are chasing each other for a €23 burger. This restaurant has changed a lot; we used to go there every year, but now we'll change.

08/07/2025: We took the bouillabaisse for 40 euros a portion - it was enough for two, croutons and garlic sauce are added to the dish. It was my first time eating it, so there's nothing to compare it to, but it's not bad.

03/05/2026: The restaurant was empty when we arrived… we quickly understood why!! The waiter was nonchalant and seemed to be barely awake. There were two of us, and we ordered two tagines… nothing was cooked, the only preparation was to microwave both tagine dishes… The food was completely tasteless… what a disappointment, because we knew this restaurant when it was on the port and we loved it… If you're tempted or Google suggests this place, take a different route!!!

28/02/2026: If you come to Marseille, I highly recommend this place. It's quiet and family-friendly. We came the day before yesterday and came back again today. We would definitely return a thousand times more. The owner is incredibly friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable.

19/09/2025: Laurent passed away this summer. It is with great sadness that we lost this unique man with a big heart. He will forever remain our beloved host in our pallet village of Le Tholonet. We will miss you. You and I were the oldest pallet merchants... The old-timers. Rest in peace. Your neighbor, the seamstress. 🙏

01/03/2026: Welcoming, quite friendly, and convivial. Plenty of courts, including indoor ones. Good.

05/06/2026: I won't criticize the food because we didn't eat. He kicked four of us out in a very rude way because we wanted to drink four beers and eat a pizza at eight o'clock in the evening. The place had quite a few empty tables.

28/05/2026: Pizza (royal) - incredible Italian pizza effect, really delicious. Thai salmon tartare - special... you really have to like cilantro and a dragon fruit flavor. I found it detracted from the freshness of the tartare, which was supposed to include cucumber, a shame. Fries - tasted like oven-baked or reheated fries... for me, they were too heavy or lacked oil for a more flavorful texture. Simple salad - small portion, just a vinaigrette dressing. Service 5/5 - pleasant, nothing to complain about.

10/04/2026: They refused to serve me a drink on the terrace even though there was no one there. The place was empty. The welcome was terrible. They weren't friendly at all.

18/05/2026: Royal couscous (€20) ordered for takeout on a Sunday: very generous portion (especially the meat) and very good. Delicious, buttery semolina. Quick service. Vegetarian couscous €14.

26/04/2026: We came to this restaurant for dinner on the recommendation of regulars. The welcome was warm, with attentive staff, and the dining room was beautifully decorated to evoke the spirit of North Africa. Orders were taken and served promptly. The four of us each ordered couscous, two lamb dishes, one merguez sausage meatball, and the last dish, the "royal" (a type of couscous). Two of us had the classic durum wheat semolina, while the other two had barley semolina. Personally, I didn't find the barley semolina to have a superior taste to the durum wheat, especially considering the price difference of €5 per person. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal taste. But the dishes were flavorful, well-presented, and generously portioned. The atmosphere was pleasant, ideal for a meal with family, friends, or even as a couple. Overall, the value for money is good, with a total of €173 for the four couscous dishes, four aperitifs, four desserts, and a half-bottle of the excellent Boulaouanne rosé. The owner even offered us a small glass of digestif to round off this pleasant experience.

20/04/2026: The best barley couscous I've ever eaten, a true Kabyle specialty. And with a restaurant that has over 100 years of history, you can't go wrong. I ate there for the first time with my wife in March 2023 and have been back several times with friends and family. I plan to return for the couscous festival in Marseille – the atmosphere is fantastic! Thank you, Moustapha, for your kindness.

07/06/2026: I stayed for two nights and the room was tiny, dark, and very damp. Not to mention the broken toilet door, which was completely useless, offering no privacy and being dangerous due to exposed nails. I don't recommend it if you're looking for comfort, even for just one night. I was disappointed; the photos on the website are misleading. However, the staff is very pleasant, attentive, and responsive (5/5). The hotel is well-located but lacks secure parking. It's a shame the staff is perfect, no complaints there, but the room needs a complete overhaul; it's not worth the price.

01/06/2026: I want to inform you of two things: Don't lose anything in this hotel; the thieving staff will never return it, especially if it's a bearded man with glasses who didn't give me my bag that I left downstairs at reception for 5 minutes on my way back to my room. When I asked about the security cameras, they strangely didn't work. A complaint has been filed against this establishment and the manager, who seems to be trying to cover up this theft. Then there's the infernal night with the constant, loud motorcycles and other cars speeding by. The windows aren't soundproofed at all. A cleaning lady enters your room without knocking. This hotel is a great place to have a complete meltdown. Well done, anyway! 👋
