17/05/2026: SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. The hotel is undergoing renovations due to a change of ownership... We had the unpleasant surprise of discovering this (we booked 3 months in advance... it would have been nice to know what we were getting into). If it were a bit like camping because of the renovations... that would be tolerable. Except that the "room," while a bit dated, isn't a big deal... But that it reeks of cigarette smoke (for the entire 4-day stay!)... that's not the renovations! That the bathroom area doesn't even have a proper door (okay, that's the renovations, I'm going to use my imagination) but... Not even a roll of toilet paper (shampoo, soap in the shower? Forget it). The heating doesn't work (we'll say it's the renovations... but not even an extra heater?!... the temperature in the room was below 15 degrees Celsius). No doubt the hotel will be better once the renovations are finished, but when you're capable of accommodating guests like this... I'm very worried about what's going to happen! Beware! At first, I thought the hotel was closed, but since we had an old reservation, it was "just for us"... not so! There were other guests during our stay, so this "hotel" is definitely open! I'll let you judge for yourselves the photos of the bathroom door with the broken heater and the storage room next to it.

21/06/2026: No air conditioning in this heat, chicken left too long, the "fresh" salads weren't fresh, the equipment meant to keep things cool wasn't cool either (warm foie gras 😅, same for the deli meats), even the ice cream barely stayed cold 👍 and the raw meat was awful, the only positive point was the cheese croquettes. 21/07/2026: Gone are the days when everything was clean, meals were eaten outside, dishes were piled high on a rack, and there were lots of wasps. As a result, I got stung once...

08/06/2026: I arrived at the bakery at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6th, right when it opened. Two employees were outside on their break and saw me heading towards what I thought was the entrance, only to find the shutters down. I turned around to find the entrance and saw the two "professionals" snickering at me. In a more respectful world, it would have been polite to greet me with, "Madam, the entrance is this way." I waited for the sales assistant to come and serve me when I heard a baker let out a loud belch. So much for professionalism! And then the pastries I bought were practically burnt to a crisp—nice!

09/05/2026: Disgusting bread compared to that from the banks of the Loire

24/07/2026: I waited at least 30 minutes for a single sandwich, and what's more, people who arrived after me received their orders before me.

23/07/2026: I came for afternoon tea with my grandchildren. After a 20-minute wait, my tray had been ready for 10 minutes, but I still had to go and get it. The result was melted ice cream and very little chocolate in the sundae.

21/06/2026: One word for it: RUN AWAY. The hotel is poorly maintained. The lawn isn't mowed. The shrubs aren't trimmed. Objects are lying around. We were told upon arrival that dinner couldn't be served because the cook had resigned... a few months ago. We were forced to eat at the pizzeria 200 meters away! Breakfast on Saturday morning: insects, large and small, were flying over the food... great. And then, on Sunday morning, incredibly, the cleaning lady told us it was impossible to have breakfast. Get this: her colleague hadn't come in and she couldn't reach her... so reception was closed and there was no breakfast. We had to go to the bakery 500 meters away. Which was actually quite good; at least we didn't eat any flying insects. A blessing in disguise, in the end. Booking.com obviously didn't warn us, and if you see customer reviews with 4 or 5 stars for the weekend of June 20th and 21st, they are fake and the reviews are lies. We will obviously be filing a complaint with Booking.com and the Campanile hotel.

20/04/2026: The hotel is old and unwelcoming, but the room is dark. The furniture is outdated. Breakfast is overpriced for a meager continental breakfast and a gloomy room. Once is enough. Two days there was too much for such a high price. Campanile has lost its luster. Good luck. We do not recommend it.
