01/06/2026: Stayed here during the Magny-Cours race weekend and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent, especially for anyone visiting the circuit. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were welcoming and professional, and the restaurant served a very good dinner after a long day at the track. A special mention for the peaceful atmosphere and the convenience of being so close to the circuit while still being able to relax and work comfortably. Thank you to the entire team for the hospitality. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Magny-Cours.

28/11/2025: A packed place at 12:30 is always a good sign. Workers, office workers, and couples. It's popular, welcoming, and unpretentious. Excellent calf's head. Unbeatable value for money. We'll make a note of it and come back if we're ever in Nevers again. I recommend making a reservation for large groups.

23/11/2025: Perfect. The welcome and the waitress were very good. The manager was also very good. A place where you can stop without any worries.

20/11/2025: While passing through for All Saints' Day, we discovered this very pleasant establishment. I recommend the baked egg with raclette and the excellent fish and chips; the ravioli were also very good.

18/11/2025: Upon our arrival, the owner was very kind. However, the same cannot be said of the waitress; she didn't smile at all and forgot the bread. We felt like she was just too busy with her job. We won't be returning because of her!

20/05/2026: Noise in the corridors and rooms until half past midnight, people were talking as if it were broad daylight, and because of the short night we had, we were woken up in the morning by the sounds of drilling (workmen probably doing some work in the hotel), understandable but not in this particular case...we have experienced better during a stay at your hotel during the Christmas holidays.

11/06/2026: The perfect meal after a long day of cycling. The owner was lovely. The decor is simple, but what matters is what's on the plate. Simple and delicious. Special mention to the Marc de Bourgogne as a digestif.

24/04/2026: We came to Marode four years ago and were satisfied with the good value for money, but the establishment has changed drastically... both in ownership and quality. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were bothering them (at that point we should have turned around and left!). The service and the food confirmed our initial poor impression. Avoid it :-(

22/05/2026: We arrived around 4 pm and ordered iced tea, which was at room temperature. In that case, you can't call it iced tea.

20/05/2026: The ham and cheese sandwich was tasteless, neither the cheese nor the ham was good. Cerea's is more expensive but much better.

16/05/2026: Very friendly welcome, simple but very good food. Very pleasant and friendly staff. I recommend it.

15/05/2026: A very warm welcome and delicious ice cream! As hikers, I highly recommend this restaurant: the friendly staff sheltered us during the storm and hail, and gave us advice on places to visit nearby. The waffles are homemade, and the craft beer and ice cream are truly delicious. Plus, the cappuccino is served with a mountain of whipped cream. The staff quickly lit a fire in the fireplace when the cold rain started. A special mention goes to the very kind lady with red hair; thank you! ❤️

22/05/2026: If only there were more shops like this, with so much choice, quality, and above all, such friendly staff. Many young people go to fast food restaurants when there's something like this just a stone's throw from the city center. Finally, a delicious dish of the day with a variety of meats at a great price! Everything was reheated and served with kindness. Thank you! We're from Italy and were lucky enough to find you, so we didn't have to eat the same old restaurant fare. Good luck!

09/05/2026: An unpleasant baker, overpriced bread, mediocre pastries – avoid them!

26/05/2026: A passionate traveler, it was by chance that I stumbled upon the Lion d'Or. And of course, this place left its mark. Normally, I don't bother reviewing the places I stay because everything is so sterile, so similar, and original, unconventional places have little or no reason to exist... But seeing the reviews and ratings piqued my curiosity and led me to dig deeper and understand. The owner is one of those people who are bursting with energy, talkative, intelligent, with a strong and memorable personality. Ultimately, I'd say divisive. But what an evening spent dining with other travelers and the owner! A feast, hastily prepared by our ever-attentive host, peppered with shared experiences and humor. These kinds of moments are part of travel, and they leave such a lasting impression. So yes, it's far from the norm. But if everything becomes standardized, what place is left for such unique individuals? See you soon, my friend. PS: Practice your chess! ;)

26/05/2026: An unpretentious stopover hotel, nestled within the ramparts of an old castle. Delicious and comforting cuisine. Jean Michel will welcome you with spontaneity and kindness!

01/07/2025: Very disappointed since the previous owner left. The quality has dropped a lot (it depends on who makes the pizzas). Both quantity and quality wise, twice we went there, twice there were missing ingredients. It's impossible to get a card receipt, give change, I don't even mention it...

01/05/2026: Beautifully restored, very friendly staff - beautiful view in the restaurant, nice outdoor terrace.

22/04/2026: A well-located hotel in the heart of Morvan's capital. Friendly staff. The restaurant is of good quality – local cuisine, carefully prepared dishes made with fresh ingredients. Breakfast is adequate (buffet style), but we found it a bit pricey (15 euros).

18/05/2026: The pizza was very average. The dough might have been frozen because it was all cracked and hard. The toppings: lots of onions, cheese, and mushrooms, but no meat! Not a trace. A shame, because the service was good.

24/04/2026: This is a simple and friendly pizzeria. The welcome was excellent and warm, the interactions very genuine, the pizzas were generously topped, and the service was quick. We had a very pleasant time as a family.

16/05/2026: An excellent dinner with the "stopover" menu. Very attentive and friendly service, with nothing superficial about it. Excellent cuisine, a friendly and inventive chef. We had a very pleasant evening. A delightful surprise!
