15/04/2026: We went as a group of four. The waiter's friendliness couldn't compensate for the kitchen problems. It took 20 minutes between the first and fourth people being served. The food was average. And to top it all off, our coffee arrived cold.

07/09/2026: A wonderful discovery! We had just arrived from our Savoyard mountains for the Lille flea market and waited to enjoy the traditional mussels and fries on the patio at the back of the restaurant. The service was impeccable and very professional. We enjoyed it so much that we returned that evening to try the menu, which had caught our eye. We will definitely go back, but to the other Rouen location during the Armada festival.

24/06/2026: Great atmosphere for meeting up with friends over a nice glass of punch or enjoying some of the tasty shooters! The servers are very welcoming!

11/05/2026: Very welcoming, they have a wheelchair ramp. The service is excellent and you can eat until late 🙂 I recommend it!

04/07/2026: A little nice place for snacks, tapas and a beer, great gathering places full of young people. taste is unexpectedly good. The price is very affordable and the size of food is relatively generous. It is a very popular places and we were lucky to grab a table as it was raining heavily that day.

09/08/2026: An empty terrace… and now we understand why! 😅 If I could have given zero stars, I would have without hesitation. There were eight of us, and naturally, we took four tables so we could sit down and enjoy our drinks in peace. To our great surprise, the cashier criticized us for occupying "so many tables," even though the terrace was practically empty… and, more importantly, there were eight of us ready to order. Faced with this particularly unfriendly welcome, we ultimately decided to leave… and give our drinks to the competition. 🙃 In light of this experience, we unfortunately understand the poor rating for this Paul. It's all the more disappointing when you're talking about a major chain like Paul Lille: what a shame that a single employee can give such a bad impression of the establishment and potentially cause a significant loss of revenue simply because of her behavior. There were eight of us ready to order, and we left without buying anything. What a great business move! 👏 It's a shame, because we really expected much better from such a major brand.

08/08/2026: A deserted terrace on a Saturday afternoon in August should have tipped me off... A family of eight sat down at two tables, and the (not-so-young) cashier complained that I'd taken up too much space when we ordered 😳. Granted, she was alone at the till, and having to prepare and serve ice cream and other treats by herself must have intimidated her (in fact, on closer inspection, only espresso cups were lying around on the tables...). But in that case, hire more staff (and maybe another cashier...) if you want to make any money in the summer! Especially since there's no shortage of ice cream shops on this square.

01/07/2026: On Wednesday, July 1st, during a stroll through Lille, we were drawn to the terrace, ideally located on the steps with a magnificent view of the Grand Place. It was hard to resist the urge to sit down and enjoy a refreshing drink! I especially want to highlight the excellent service. The young man who greeted us and took our order was truly friendly, smiling, pleasant, and patient. This deserves to be mentioned, as it is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare to encounter waiters or waitresses who perform their work with such good humor and enthusiasm. Thank you to him for this enjoyable experience. I hope future visitors will have the chance to enjoy the same!

01/07/2026: There's a real problem with this place; since I discovered it, I haven't found anything better anywhere else. The homemade dishes are just as good as the desserts. The welcome makes you feel right at home. Not to mention the sandwiches that you can cut in half to double the enjoyment! And don't even get me started on the prices, which are about as affordable as a good-looking guy who doesn't know he's good-looking. I won't be going anywhere else anytime soon.
