14/08/2024: Positive, pleasant, unfortunately we do not have time to stay a little longer in the establishment. We enjoyed our lunch.

07/08/2024: Pragmatic stop on a long travel route. Very nice home. Friendly staff. Very well advised on the choice of dishes, in the interest of the customer and not in the interest of turnover (this shows honesty of mind). The meat and sides were very good. Well done. I can't rate the atmosphere, because it was a Monday in August, at the very end of the evening and there weren't many people around. But I have no doubt that it must be good because the people serving seemed to love their restaurant. You can feel it.

09/09/2024: Almost perfect weekend 😁 perfect massage, swimming pool at 28 a cold shuya, clean rooms just the upstairs neighbors too noisy 😅 and the excellent restaurant. We will come back 🙂

23/10/2025: Beautiful place, well located at the entrance to Bagnolles-de-l'Orne. We had booked this place through Smartbox (which I don't generally recommend anymore), but almost exceptionally for these gift boxes, there was no extra charge when booking!! That said, a very friendly welcome from all the staff, a beautiful establishment including a hotel, a lovely restaurant with well-considered offerings and quality dishes, a beautiful outdoor terrace, a local produce store... One small drawback: in the standard room we occupied, the toilet (with a very, or...too low seat) is located in the bathroom, and the shower has to be taken in a bathtub without a non-slip base. My wife refused to take the risk. But the bedding was quality!!!

16/09/2024: Food was good, had the raclette but the cheese doesn't stay warm and melted. Husband's steak tasted good but extremely tough

02/09/2024: A little disappointed 😞 and nothing exceptional from today's menu the fish was good but probably frozen and full of bones (julienne) ratatouille ditto vegetables probably frozen 😞😞😞😞😞

05/01/2026: I stayed in room 52 for a week; it was freezing cold. It was impossible to sit on the toilet seat, it was so cold. There was no heating in the bathroom at the end of the hall. You have to wait at least two to four minutes before it gets warm. The hotel brasserie was good quality and reasonably priced.

30/12/2025: I received a poor reception from a woman working in the restaurant who said, and I quote, "He's bothering us." However, another waiter was very kind and friendly. Please improve your language if you want more customers.

The meal was absolutely delicious; we thoroughly enjoyed the starter, meat, and desserts—everything was perfect and homemade. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality. 29/08/2024: Nice place. Beautiful decorative/flea market pieces. But when we arrived around 4 p.m. the staff was eating on the terrace. Not a hello. Not a “you can sit over there”. We almost left not knowing if it was open. Yet open all day. The pear tart is very good. The raspberry shortbread... too bad it's jam and not real raspberries for the price.

30/09/2024: Le Petit Vatel is undoubtedly one of the best addresses in Alençon. From the moment you step inside, you feel a warm and friendly atmosphere. The service is impeccable, the staff smiling and attentive to every detail. As for the cuisine, it is simply exceptional! The dishes are delicious, well-presented, and made with fresh, local produce. A special mention goes to the chef's creativity, who perfectly knows how to enhance each ingredient. Whether for a quick lunch or a romantic dinner, it's a must. I recommend it without hesitation.
