03/06/2026: A really awful hotel, run by unfriendly and agressive people. I was forced to stay here as the better hotels were booked out.
The tiny bathroom was flithy. The bed did not have fitted sheets, so i ended up sleeping on a dirty mattress.
The older woman at reception could not have been more unpleasant. Read the other reviews - they all say the bathrooms are discgusting and the staff awfuil - just read the rude aggressive replies to some ofthe reviews. Avoid at all costs.

We highly recommend Les Camélias. It's a great place to visit Bagnols-de-l'Orne, near the casino lake, and for cycling and hiking.
We had a very relaxing stay.
The food is truly worth the trip; it's delicious.
The young apprentices are in excellent training, in this welcoming setting, and with a wonderful hostess.

25/02/2026: A very good experience.
We went there for lunch.
At €13.50 per person, it was worth it.
The staff was attentive and friendly.
We ate very well and left feeling satisfied.
For the starter, there was an all-you-can-eat buffet, which was very good; however, the potato salad was frozen and had a strong frozen taste.
For the main course, I ordered leg of lamb, and my companion ordered grilled sirloin steak.
The meats were tender. As for the sides, I chose pasta, which wasn't great, and the fries needed a few more minutes of cooking.
We didn't have dessert because we were so full.
In short, the dishes at this restaurant are similar to those served in a brasserie or even a roadside diner.
I recommend this place and will definitely return.
14/02/2026: Once again, we are more than satisfied with L’Entracte for its warm welcome, delicious food, and the kindness of Amelie, Jordan, and Anthony.
The portions are always generous and filled with high-quality ingredients.
All this at very reasonable prices.
All this to say that I recommend it 100%! For baptisms, birthdays, and weddings, L’Entracte was there for us, so thank you :)

17/05/2026: We spent two nights at this hotel as part of a Groupon deal (2 nights + breakfasts + dinners at the adjoining restaurant, Le Naomi).
We received a warm welcome from the staff upon arrival. Our first impression of the room was very negative; the decor was very dated. The room was poorly insulated; we could hear all the noises from the neighbors and the creaking stairs (room 1 was right next to the stairs). The carpet was full of stains, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot. The rest of the cleanliness was okay... except for the sheets! When we went to bed, we removed the bedspread and discovered felt-tip pen stains and yellow marks on the white sheets... a stark contrast between the photos on the hotel's website and reality. Dinner was a pleasant experience, but disappointing nonetheless. The bread was of very poor quality and clearly defrosted. We were offered the €24 set menu (which unfortunately didn't suit us) and were then told there would be a €20 surcharge for the €38 menu (well, we didn't quite understand, but okay, we went along with it)... and then came the disappointment. The beef was of poor quality and the fries were undercooked. We asked for another portion of fries, which were brought to us, still undercooked. The waiter told us it was due to the variety of potatoes....
And to top it all off, breakfast. Poor quality products. Limited selection. It's a shame I can't attach photos of the bananas offered at breakfast!
We didn't have dinner the second evening or breakfast the second morning.
We're not usually demanding or critical people, but in this case, we were extremely disappointed with the value for money.
However, to end on a positive note, we would like to highlight the warm welcome and the ideal location of the hotel.
17/05/2026: 75 euros for a standard room is very expensive. The room smelled musty; it's time to change the carpets. The bed is still hard and small. The buffet is basic, and the reception is simple but adequate.

29/05/2026: We had occasionally dined at this restaurant with a friend who lives nearby, and we wanted to invite her back, as we had in the past, because we had such fond memories.
Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment as soon as the main courses arrived.
The fries were inedible: very golden on the outside but raw on the inside. It's the first time I've ever been served fries of such poor quality, to the point where I had to leave them on the plate.
My wife had the same experience: she left everything, the fries, including the salmon with a saffron sauce, which was also inedible.
Our friend, who didn't find it good either, bravely ate part of her plate but didn't finish it. Looking at the reviews, I saw a sign that read:
"To avoid waste, portions are rationed. For those with a hearty appetite, feel free to ask for a larger portion." “That made me smile, because in our case, it wasn’t us who generated the waste, but rather the cook with dishes that were inedible.
Another telling sign: the parking lot is usually full of trucks and tradespeople’s vans. That day, it was almost empty, despite the constant flow of trucks and tradespeople on the road.
Of course, I’m not writing this review without having expressed my dissatisfaction to the waitress and a manager. A small gesture of goodwill was made when we paid, but it doesn’t make up for the poor quality of the food. On our next visit to Saint-Hilaire-de-Briouze, we now know which restaurant to absolutely avoid.”

17/03/2026: Ordered a terrible kebab tonight, it tasted like turkey... the panini was for kids, the bread wasn't cooked and the cheese wasn't evenly distributed... For now, I'll stick with Delice Doner.
09/03/2026: I came with friends for the first time, and this kebab was touted as the best in Alençon. I admit I had some doubts about their claims, but once I tasted the kebab, I understood.
The meat was of exceptionally high quality for a kebab, the condiments were fresh, and the bread had the perfect balance between crispy and soft.
The fries were homemade, which was a definite plus. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the taste. I think it must have been the oil. It's a hit or miss, unfortunately, you know?
The negative point was the sauce. I ordered a white sauce, also homemade, but there was an overpowering aftertaste of mayonnaise. I was annoyed at the time, but it's not a big deal.
The service was impeccable, with a big smile from the chef. The prices were standard, and the setting was simple and clean.
I'll gladly return next time I'm in Alençon.

08/06/2026: The cashier at the cafeteria is incredibly unpleasant and cold, rudely chasing away people who aren't buying anything and trying to force them to buy more.
The toilets are filthy 🤢🤢 cleanliness needs improvement. I won't be coming back to this rest area.
I gave it one star because I have no other choice; for me, it's zero stars. 👎👎👎👎👎

The dish I chose was delicious, and the flan was just as good as some from bakeries. Would I like to (re)visit during the holidays?

03/06/2026: I first encountered this hotel in the heart of the Perche region 35 years ago. The setting is very pleasant, however, the rooms, service, and cuisine no longer live up to the prices. Breakfast consisted of Netto yogurt, coffee from a thermos, and frozen pastries and bread! Luxury! The rooms are spacious but could use a serious refresh; the ambiance is dated, with cork and worn carpeting.
Therefore, the price is exorbitant considering the amenities—a Relais & Châteaux price for an Ibis!
31/05/2026: A splendid location; the setting and the village overlooked by this 16th-century castle, modernized in 1973, are magnificent.
Dinner is of high quality but suffers from a slightly excessive supplement.
The wine and spirits list is excellent, with discoveries perfectly suited to the dishes served.
However, the decor and some of the hotel's amenities could use a refresh.
Breakfast is on par with an Ibis Budget hotel. It's not served in the castle, which means you have to go down to the mill/restaurant.
This creates a mismatch between the prices charged and the overall experience at the Domaine de Villeray.

18/05/2026: We arrived with a reservation for 8 adults and 4 children. The very friendly waiter warned us there would be a wait because, at 11:40 a.m., the cook still hadn't arrived. We told him that was no problem.
At 12:10 p.m., a woman—the owner—arrived and said, "Oh, we've accepted you?" She then placed a pile of cutlery at the end of the table and told us to fend for ourselves.
After waiting 30 minutes, they finally took our drinks and food orders. When the food arrived, my glass plate was broken into four pieces, with shards of glass in the food.
The pizzas were inedible, with a mass-produced crust.
We asked for coffee, which was refused. They even said, "You should thank us for giving you food," as if we had begged them.

23/02/2026: Having a coffee at Paul's is very pleasant. The service is quick, and the waitress, a petite blonde, is very pleasant, smiling, and very polite. The pastries are excellent; I highly recommend it.
