22/09/2024: Top brewery. Breakfast good too. On the other hand, zero soundproofing room. And when you go to reception to say that your neighbors upstairs are making an impossible noise, they tell you that it’s a wedding and so be patient 😡 Super noisy night too with probably the wedding guests returning and no apology from the reception. The shower is a disaster! 10 minutes to have hot water and especially once the hot water is there and much more pressure, so you have to shower with a mini trickle of water???? Reported to the lady at reception who doesn't give a damn and just says that the hotel is an old building. No understanding or apology for not being able to shower. I won't come back but apparently you don't care.

04/09/2024: The place is very beautiful and the small streets around are worth the detour. Le Tribunal is THE restaurant where you will be welcomed perfectly, where the service during your meal will be accompanied by the details of the dishes by very conscientious, very friendly servers and good advice. All dishes are a delight for the palate. Tasty tastes, combinations of “local” products, everything was a delight. In short, you can imagine that everything went well! But on the other hand.... Remember to book 😉

06/08/2024: very pleasantly surprised by this good table. The chef will make you love black pudding even for those who are most reluctant to this dish! Served under an almond crumble, your palate will bless you! And above all, don't miss the honey soufflé, simply killer! And congratulations to the whole team, kindness, friendliness and professionalism are there.

16/08/2024: I had lunch there Monday August 12, and for the first time BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, in fact the beef skewers were so hard that they were inedible. and no commercial discount obviously...

03/08/2024: Terrific experience in every respect. We made quite a detour to reach the restaurant and it was worth it. The place is tastefully decorated with plenty of outdoor seating. We opted for indoors as it was a sweltering day. The menu is imaginative and caters to many tastes. We had two set menus, one of them extended for a dessert. All the dishes were superbly presented and were delectable, a true highlight of our trip to France this year. The service was professional and very friendly. We seriously want to return.

07/11/2024: Repas parfait et excellent dommage qu'il n'est pas mis la réunion de famille dans une pièce à Part ils ont fait tellement de bruit que nous avons terminé notre repas sans pouvoir discuter Nous avons demandé au patron de les calmer pour réponse je ne peux rien ce sont des client et nous alors ????

01/10/2024: Manger un vendredi soir très très déçu service expéditif il nous on bien fait comprendre qu'il fallait partir avant 22h30 puis le repas pas top du congelé,un petit sourire des serveuses aurait été le bien venu.

29/09/2024: Room not very spacious for a 3 star The jacuzzi was not very clean (sand in the bottom) the same for the swimming pool with a dirty bottom, really limited for the price. The breakfast was very good wide choice (scrambled eggs excellent) the service is more or less good but sometimes we had the impression of not being the desired clientele (which made us uncomfortable although we paid as everyone) and the strong impression of disturbing moreover there is no room service while hotels like ibis do it I think that the fame is the gourmet restaurant and nothing else

30/09/2024: Le Petit Vatel is undoubtedly one of the best addresses in Alençon. From the moment you step inside, you feel a warm and friendly atmosphere. The service is impeccable, the staff smiling and attentive to every detail. As for the cuisine, it is simply exceptional! The dishes are delicious, well-presented, and made with fresh, local produce. A special mention goes to the chef's creativity, who perfectly knows how to enhance each ingredient. Whether for a quick lunch or a romantic dinner, it's a must. I recommend it without hesitation.

06/10/2024: Cela fait plusieurs années que nous y déjeunons et l'accueil et la cuisine sont toujours aussi agréables. Lors de notre dernier repas, nous avons tenté le carré de porc, et ce fut une réussite. La viande était tendre à souhait avec une sauce tomate parfumée. Bravo au jeune chef, pour avoir réussi une cuisson délicate à maîtriser. Et un autre merci au jeune couple patron du restaurant toujours aussi gentils et souriants quelle que soit l'affluence. On y reviendra dès que possible.

29/09/2024: Je m'attendais pas à plus, c'est moyen. Pas besoin de faire un effort de cuisine car l'offre locale est limitée. Sinon on a apprécié la terrasse.

16/08/2024: A good table. The lunch formula offers unbeatable value for money. Nice menu: a small downside on the octopus. Too many ingredients, too many different tastes, this dish would benefit from simplicity. The Minervois rosé accompanied our lunch very well. Attentive service. A little sad decor...

14/11/2024: Tout était impeccable menu délicieux accueil chaleureux le seul bémol étant la fraîcheur de la pièce ( pensez à un gilet si vous manger à côté du bar). Je précise il faisait frais pas froid.

22/10/2024: Soirée agréable dans ce restaurant. Dommage que le poisson était du surgelé... cela se sent à la mâche et ce n était pas indiqué sur le menu . Le vin était froid... donc juste bien.

09/01/2026: One-night stopover in December. The experience fell far short of the expected standards for an establishment at this price point. Upon arrival, the room was freezing: windows wide open despite the intense cold at that time of year, inadequate heating, and no radiator in the bathroom. I had to ask for a space heater. Cleanliness was clearly lacking, with a dirty toilet, a used bath towel, and a mark on the bed, suggesting the room had been briefly occupied before our arrival. I only noticed this later and didn't have the energy to make a fuss. There was no soundproofing whatsoever. The room faced the street with absolutely no soundproofing, making it a nightmare to sleep, not to mention the barely blackout curtains. Dinner at the hotel confirmed this discrepancy between the price and the service provided. The value for money is hard to defend; the soup served was simply disgusting, unseasoned, and very poorly prepared—unworthy of a hotel restaurant at this price. It's hard to go wrong with a soup, though, especially for €9... The breakfast was basic: a bad croissant, a mass-produced baguette. The owner's attitude also significantly contributed to ruining our stay. His repeated and intrusive interruptions at dinner, accompanied by inappropriate comments about my husband's health and demeanor (it happens to everyone not to feel well and not to be talkative or very cheerful, doesn't it?), followed by his inappropriate and sarcastic remarks at breakfast and when paying (we didn't come down to breakfast at the same time, that happens too, doesn't it?), demonstrate a clear lack of professionalism and discretion. It's regrettable that an establishment with such potential for charm and a pleasant location now appears outdated, poorly maintained, and badly managed. At €170 a night plus a poor dinner, for a practically empty hotel, the experience was particularly unpleasant and in no way met a legitimate customer's expectations. I do not recommend this establishment. I'm giving it two stars for the nice location.

27/08/2024: So the dishes are not bad but we found clumps of hair in the noodles concerning the toilets there was excrement in the toilets along the walls I would not add details then the staff is very unpleasant, mainly observing we feels judged and fixed when passing in front of the tables they examine while we eat they look us up and down and do not answer us when we speak to them. In conclusion, don't go there, it's expensive for what it is and it's not worth it. HORRIBLE !!

04/08/2024: Very tired and unwelcoming. Staff friendly and room was clean but did feel a bit damp. Charged €13 for breakfast but the choice was limited.

28/07/2024: Dog supposedly accepted but not in the restaurant... but at breakfast yes! No indication of banning dogs. We pay for the dog (a trained golden, handicapped educated because 4 disabled people so not a ferocious or dirty dog)... why is it not accepted????? Not for a hygiene or food issue since he is allowed at breakfast. Not leaving him in a place unknown to him, I had to eat in the room while the rest of the family ate in the restaurant. On principle, I didn't have breakfast! So FALSE INFORMATION saying dogs accepted Old, dirty room, stained lamp, not enough power outlets... everything is already said in the other comments which I unfortunately discovered too late. A SHAME!

30/08/2024: Artisanal bakery. I tried the bread and it was good, well cooked. I arrived at 6:50 p.m. and they closed at 7 p.m., there wasn't much left. I asked him for a baguette and he gave me two buns as a sandwich (I thanked him, I didn't run out of bread). What was left looked good (croissant and so on). They were very friendly, even though they were going to close soon. There is a small parking lot (it has capacity for 6/8 cars).
