22/02/2026: A great time spent with the group, nothing to complain about, highly recommended. Lots of locals in the room.

15/02/2026: Very disappointed compared to a year ago. We ordered appetizers that were basically mass-produced, just foam and the flavoring of the ingredient inside :-| As for the two set menus we chose, well… My advice: if you're a couple, just order one and share! Regarding the ribeye steak, we only got one for the two of us. When we asked about the rest of our meal, they told us it was one for two. I left still hungry despite having the appetizers before the main course 😮😮😮 Sure, we eat well by today's standards, but that's no excuse!

30/01/2026: We've stayed at this hotel several times as a family; the family rooms are perfect for large families. The staff are lovely.

11/11/2025: Impeccable service; my association and I have rented the reception hall twice for our AGM, and it's been perfect!

16/02/2026: A warm place, cuisine with the flavors and colors of the Basque Country, top-notch and unpretentious service...and fair value for money.

10/12/2025: Beautiful bar with a Basque atmosphere. There are occasional concerts and the food is also exceptional.

You were super friendly and I have never tasted pizza like yours we loved you family friendly place and if we ever are passing through ascain will surely come for your amazing pizza . Thank you so much for a lovely memory and making us feel so welcome . Also the beer was fantastic .

12/10/2025: We arrived around 7:45 p.m. We sat down and began to look at the menu. After a while, we got up to order because the woman didn't come over when she left. She reluctantly told us she couldn't serve us because she'd run out of items. Not only that, but we spent an hour and a half later and they were still serving us. The service was disgraceful.

11/11/2025: I came on September 28th and was unfortunately very disappointed not to find the former owner, Gildas, there. The food was nothing like it used to be. For a starter, the warm goat cheese should be at least a small Crotin or Rocamadour, but instead it was just a piece of goat cheese from a cheap log on three small pieces of bread. The main course, the duck confit, was just a leg straight out of a can, tasteless and of course without any sauce. Perhaps it was too complicated to prepare. And if only the fries were homemade, not just delivered by a supplier. Oh, and I almost forgot, there was a spider in the salad! Seriously, when you own such an establishment, especially one facing La Rhune mountain, it's a shame. Sir, I am contacting you again following your disingenuous response. Living 700 kilometers away, I had no way of knowing that Gildas had recently sold the business, so I had no preconceived notions. Regarding the sauce that was supposed to accompany the duck confit ("duck leg"), given the wide selection in your response, it would have been more sensible to offer it when ordering, not during the service I requested. The response I received was, "No sauce available, but we can prepare some in 10 to 15 minutes"—a joke! And of course, if I follow your reasoning, I should avoid waiting 10 to 15 minutes hoping for a pat of butter to accompany the country ham and cheese, which would have enhanced the presentation. I should have informed the cow, the farmer, and the dairy of my arrival. No, sir, I'm not grumbling in a corner. I did make my concerns known at the checkout, and the response I received was, "I cannot give you a satisfactory answer as I am not the chef." And as it seems to me that you Gildas, please don't use these photos on your website. Sir, when you practice one of the most beautiful professions in the world, you live by its motto. Perfection doesn't exist, you can always do better, there are weaknesses, days when things don't go well, simple cooking is the most complicated thing there is. Joël Rebuchon

10/11/2025: A very warm welcome despite our late arrival at 1:45 pm, good local cuisine, a very pleasant time 😏
