19/05/2024: Approaching the Rhune site, we cross the village of Ascain, it is meal time, our choice falls on this restaurant, Moments Gourmants. It was a real pleasure, whether it was the salad for my wife, or a fish Ttoro for me, in both cases, it was good, very good, copious, very (too?) copious, a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, a truly nice welcome, a boss and chef at the same time who "monitors" his customers from his kitchen and who comes to share his passion for the cuisine and the products of his country. I could say if you are passing through Ascain, you should not hesitate to discover this restaurant, but I would rather say for those who are visiting the Pyrénées Atlantiques, make the trip to discover this superb restaurant.

16/05/2024: to avoid absolutely unless you have at least 3 hours to eat server not up to par tables not cleared while no dishes came out of the kitchen. what a shame exceptional location spoiled by very poor organization above all, don't stop!

09/06/2024: We are quite disappointed with this restaurant especially after reading the reviews expensive and refrigerated service with an owner incapable of raising the slightest smile local wine from Spain??? very decent cuisine in a dismal setting

28/05/2024: Small restaurant where everything is homemade, that's why reservations are required. So, home cooking + local products + inventiveness results in delicious dishes. We tasted, among other things: eels with parsley, camembert-style cheese breaded with spelled and ham, local Basque cake, egg cream.... We highly recommend

02/04/2024: I stayed just one night off peak. Nice view of the river and mountains beyond. It's a 2 star hotel so extensive amenities are not to be expected - the essentials are all there (plus a few helpful extras). Location on the main road (but traffic could barely be heard). Plenty of off road parking. Highlight was the friendly and helpful staff. Top tip is to book directly for the best price - by far (I did it when I arrived... note that the Reception closes for the evening). Buffet breakfast was fine for the price.

18/02/2024: A Sunday in February (what must it be like in June!). The boss, unpleasant, throws her "basquitude" in your face to make you understand that, although they want your money, you are not welcome in HER country.

We would like to thank and congratulate Peio, Jean-Claude and their team for this delicious time spent in their establishment, everything was perfect from the aperitif to the brunch the next day.
